I can't believe I didn't try Yiassoo sooner! I was a little concerned when I came in around 11 am and the place was empty. Luckily, I just beat the rush, because a lot of people began trickling in. Their menu is quite extensive. I got to try the Chicken Souvlaki Plate and Gyros Sandwich. Both were amazing! For the plate, I had the option to choose between fries or rice. I went with fries and did not regret it, the fries were extra crispy. The chicken tasted great and so did the side salad. Service here is great! You order and pay first, then seat yourself. I've been on a total gyro kick lately. It's my latest favorite food and they just murder the gyro game here. I get the super gyro salad. I don't even miss the bread of a day which cus I'm so focused on that warm, salty, flavorful, thinly sliced gyro meat. There's some competition in the area for gyros but this is absolutely the best. My salad is pricey though- comes out to about 20 bucks but I don't care. Take my money. read more

My favorite Greek food in the Bay Area, I get their lamb kebab in a pita with fries. My husband loves their gyro fries and gyro pita. I love the yellow sauce they have, make sure to ask for some, it's yummy dipping your fries into it. We order for pickup and the order is ready super quick and always hot and fresh. Yay I like this nice cozy Greek restraunt with it's white and blue walls. As my friend put it, you feel like you are in Greece. I ordered the veggie gyro plate with pilaf and my friend ordered falafel gyro with fries. I love the rice pilaf. It's got a nice garlic flavor that went so well with the salad and the gyro itself. This Mediterranean restaurant is a neat little place. The inside was nice and clean. It was decorated with a lot of the color blue. The blue-colored wall kinda made the place look like an ocean. It is located next to a busy street. I sat on the inside, and couldn't here the street traffic at all. The menu has a great variety. This was my first time here. I ordered the standard gyro plate. I barely sat down for five minutes and my order was brought to my table. Quick service! The plate looked very appealing. It consisted of rice, greek salad, and a pita gyro. My first few bites were okay, and by the time I finished the plate, I was definitely full! The rice was okay. It was more of a orzo rice. The flavor was slight. It was not too pronounced. The greek salad consisted of tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and kalamata olives. Dressing on the side was provided. The gyro was ok. The meat and pita was ok. The flavors were mixed, and I felt like the whole plate was missing a "wow" flavor. Overall, I can't say that I was too impressed. Loved the chunks of cucumbers used in the fresh tzatziki sauce however they added too heavy of a scoop of which made the gyro soggy. Lamb Soulvaki: The lamb soulvaki was my favorite since the meat was juicy and tender while still having the charred and salty taste. Loukoumathes: They fry the dough as you order so it's nice and hot. The loukoumathes had a nice touch of cinnamon and powered sugar which made for a perfect dessert after a savory meal. I was also pleased with the generous amount of honey drizzled on the fried puffs. Portions: You can't leave hungry since the portions are huge and you get plenty of meat if you get the gyro. At Yiassoo, you get yummy food and good portions. I had this place bookmarked for a while and my college roommate and I decided to try it. It is a small restaurant off the side of Bascom with a small parking lot in the back. It is counter service style where you order at the register. Since it was our first time, we took a while to order. The lady at the register was very patient and helpful when it came to suggesting what to order. I ordered the pork souvlaki and my roommate ordered the beef souvlaki. We both got our plates with fries. The plates consisted of our meat sliced pita bread, fries, a mixed vegetable salad topped with feta, and a dollop of yogurt cheesy goodness. There were also two bottles of sauces that we tried. I really enjoyed the spicy sauce and I doused everything on my plate with it. The beef was nice and juicy, the pork was a bit dry, but it did not matter after I added the delicious spicy sauce. Overall, this is a great place to stop and get good food. There is both indoor and outdoor seating if you choose to sit in front of the restaurant. We came here for lunch yesterday on our son's recommendation. It's a stone's throw away from the Pruneyard shopping center. Our order for lunch was the following: lamb souvlaki plate, chicken souvlaki plate and beef souvlaki plate. There are bottled and can drinks available. I had the beef entree and found it tender and flavorful. Our son brought to the table plastic bottles-one filled with a spicy sauce and the other with tzatziki sauce. We tried both on our beef and chicken and it was good. The chicken entree was tender and the marinade imparted a delicious flavor profile to what could have been a bland chicken dish. Since I don't eat lamb, I can only say my son and husband both liked the tender lamb entree. As we were full from the generous serving size of our plate lunches, we were unable to order dessert! A large table next to us ordered three plates of loukoumathes, fried doughnut looking small balls, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Baklava is also available. There is a small vegetarian section in the menu as well plus an assortment of side orders. A kids menu is available too. This whole month I've been itching for Greek food. Not gonna lie, I've been to 4 Greek restaurants in the last two weeks. That's a lot for me. Of course, I found this gem thanks to Yelp and I can see myself coming here a lot since it's dangerously close to where I work. I ordered a pork souvlaki plate and it came with rice, pitas, and a salad on the side while my boyfriend got a chicken plate. The meat was cooked very well. I loved the seasoning and the portions were fair. The pita bread was so soft and easy to chew, I was sad and wanted more even when I was full. For appetizers we ordered the fries which had the feta cheese on top and we also ordered calamari. Both were irresistible, so we had to get them. The breading on the calamari was a little too much, but it's nothing to complain about. I can't wait for our next trip back! read more

Super Size It. The Big Gulp. America's Expanding Waistline. Sometimes, bigger isn't always better. As much as I like a good deal and value for the dollar, sometimes the regular is perfect enough. Case in point: I've been a fan of the gyro at Yiassoo's for a long time. The thinly sliced lamb, the tomatoes and the perfect pita to all wrap it up. The price at $5.95 is perfect too. But for the longest time, I looked longingly at the super gyro on the menu. At $8.95, it boasts even more meat! And feta cheese! How can they stuff more meat in there???? And was the feta cheese some over the top addition that could put his already great meal in the next stratosphere?!?! Well, I guess not. Today, I ordered the super gyro, and while it was good, I will go back to ordering the regular from now on. Key points: 1) The super gyro does come with more meat. But that comes at a price. You can no longer wrap the pita around all the interior since the pita appears to be the same size. This makes it a mess to eat. 2) It does come with feta cheese. I expected it to be crumbled or perhaps shredded. No. It's simply two large blocks placed on top of the gyro. Am I supposed to microwave this and let it melt? Do I eat as is? Whatever the secret, the feta made no difference to me. (see pic) 3) the Super comes with a side of dressing sauce. You can dip the gyro or drown yours in more sauce, but quite simply, the regular had the perfect portion of sauce to veggies to meat to bread. I learned my lesson today. Don't always go big or go home. Sometimes you have the perfect meal already. 5 stars for the regular gyro. I think it's risen into my top 5 eats in the South Bay. Yiassoo takes credit cards, but unlike last time, they refused to take my Amex and wanted only Mastercard/Visa. Your mileage may vary. read more

Their salad was good, but I just don't like tomatoes and olives so that was just alright for me. They serve you a good portion. Greek Fries were $4 which is just french fries topped with cheese. Their chicken plate is $12, comes with rice or fries, salad, and tomatoes and red onions. They need to cut their onions smaller. they were way too big! I'd come back again, but hopefully, they loosen up on the attitude and sour faces! I asked what's the difference from their chicken soulviaki plate and their chicken plate. I was craving falafel so I decided to give this place a try! I got the vegetarian falafel plate with fries and a salad and my bf got the lamb plate with rice and a salad. The falafel was good but not the best but 11/10 fries and complimentary sauce! The side salad could be cut into smaller pieces and I definitely will order it without cheese next time! I'd happened to seek out this place for lunch, as I had eaten at the Cupertino location once before and enjoyed the food. So my friend and I came here for lunch during the week. I decided on the lamb soulaki which is essentially in a wrap form (gyro) which I wasn't expecting... I probably should have read the menu board more closely. Fries on the side and a baklava which is like a desert... I can't describe it that well but you'd probably have to try one to see for yourself. I liked my lamb wrap but it was not as flavorful as some other lamb I've had at other restaurants. The fries are good and vegetables very fresh as always at Yiasso. Good Value, Fast and Addictive Greek Chow Gyros Sandwich (I order it no onions and add feta cheese for .75 cents) $5.74 comes on the most fluffy pita, is a huge sandwich and ooooh I crave it weekly. The Super Gyros can easily be cut in half and shared it's so big, and for $6.99 a great deal. Spanakopita of super flaky filo dough filled with warm spinach and feta is also huge and easily shared for only $1.85. This would make a great appetizer or side item. Pita Bread is sooooo fluffy, soft and airy you can tell they make it fresh everyday. The texture and flavor is so good. Hummus (single size) is easily shared with 2-3 people and is up there with the tubs of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods hummus which I love. I would just say get some extra pita bread if your sharing. The only thing I've had here I can't recommend is the Falafel (side order or the sandwich) as the balls are overcooked and too dry every time I've attempted them. The staff is super friendly and understanding that this is a paper plate and plastic tray fast food type of place they do a great job. How good is this place? Good enough to write a review while still eating their food! After visiting a friend at Good Samaritan Hospital, my husband and I wanted something to eat.
