Self service kiosk as others have mentioned. Sort of slow service. Small seating area inside. Menu has so many options, it's a bit overwhelming. We tried the taro sago latte (even at 100% sweetness it was not sweet at all) and the yifang fruit tea with sago (which at 50% sugar was so incredibly sweet, tasted like my entire sugar allotment for the week)! The sago is nice though. For those who don't know sago are tiny, clear, somewhat chewy balls of starch (mouthfeel sort of like the little rice balls in tapioca pudding), and much smaller than the typical tapioca boba. YiFang serves a variety of Taiwanese teas and snacks. My favorites are the Mango Pomelo Sago and Super Trio Milk Tea. There are milk replacement options and many topping additions and customizations available. Service is quite impersonal- ordering is done by tablet and there is little acknowledgement of the customer besides calling the order number. They will usually prop open the front door on nice days, but when it's not, there isn't much ventilation causing steam (presumably due to tea brewing) to build up in the air and is very visible on the windows. I've found this location runs out of ingredients quite a bit, so your drink of choice might not always be guaranteed. read more

Both drinks were pretty good, a little pricy in my opinion, but you do get a larger cup. I like the mango fruit tea as it has a lot of fruit in them. For some reason it wasn't as refreshing and i was still thirsty. They do have a few things that i was confused about: first, the cheese foam wasn't in a sippy cup, so i guess you're suppose to swirl it? Another thing was that the mango pomelo sago had mango chunks in them that was too big to fit through the straw so i had to open the cup up to eat them... As an avid bubble tea fan, I was excited to hear that YiFang found a home on the Eastside. YiFang is known for their use of fresh fruit and natural ingredients, with one example being their "golden jam" crafted from overripe pineapples. That's exactly what I was here for....the Pineapple Green Tea! Right after entering, we placed our order on the self-service kiosk at the front. With only one kiosk operating at the time, I could easily see this hold up the line during peak times. In the time it took me to scroll through the menu and input customizations, an employee could probably process two orders. Our teas were ready within a few minutes and I received a text to pick them up from the front counter. Considering how the store operates, there is minimal interaction between the staff and customers, which left us feeling barely acknowledged. A simple greeting when we walked in would have at least made a difference. Also, when we asked one employee a question, we received a very curt response. Maybe they were having an off day, but we didn't feel very welcomed. I ordered their recommended Pineapple Green Tea with pearls ($4.75 + $0.50), 30% sugar and light ice. The ice and sweetness levels were executed well, but the flavor was not what I expected from a supposedly homemade pineapple jam. It didn't have a juicy ripe pineapple taste and actually seemed diluted. My tea was just sweet, with a subtle fruit flavor. My friend had the Black Tea Latte with pearls and 30% sweetness. The drink contained real milk instead of a powdered base which was nice, but she said it was on the weak side as well. Additionally, our pearls were quite soft and didn't have that chewy bite that we long for. I arrived with such high hopes, but my visit left me feeling a little low. My favorite drink is the Mango Pomelo Sago! It reminds me of the Hong Kong style dessert that I eat during the summer, but in smoothie form. Evidently, YiFang offers unique drink combinations and flavors. The Yakult with Pineapple Green Tea tastes exactly like how it sounds, but I appreciated the nostalgia and incorporation of yakult in the drink. The YiFang Fruit Tea was refreshing and attractive with the sliced fruit. I'm interested in trying more drinks on the menu, but I have to admit that the drinks are $5-$7 depending on the drink and toppings. They're pricey and the locations in the Pacific Northwest are far for me, especially this Redmond location. During this COVID-19 pandemic, indoor seating is closed, so I recommend online ordering for pick-up. This location still takes order via the OrderToGo platform. This is the second time I've gone to a YiFang (different location), and I'm still not impressed yet. It's "ok", but that's like getting a C. I'm Asian, so that might as well as be an F. :P I spotted an item on their wooden menu plates on the wall that said Grass Jelly Tea Latte. I like grass jelly a lot and thought, sure, I'll try that. I looked through their menu but didn't find it. I asked one of the staff, and she said, I can make something like that for you. Hmm, ok. She pressed Black Milk Tea with grass jelly as an added topping. Well, that's not how I would define it, but fine, I'll try it anyway. The wait was reasonable, about 7 mins. The flavor of the milk tea is good. Not much of the grass jelly was coming up the straw though. What pieces that did come up have a stiffer and chunkier texture than they should be. Freshly made ones are slurp-y and easily goes up a straw. These, not so much. About half way through the drink I was starting to see big pieces of grass jelly at the bottom. There's no way these will fit through a straw. Towards the bottom, I emptied the remains into a bowl. Some pieces were at least 3 inches in diameter. Sigh. Can you please at least cut them to a more reasonable "drinkable" size? I ate them with a spoon. Not fun at all. They have a very good selections of tea and the black milk tea with grass jello drink is delicious and the Yakult with pineapple green tea drinks is good too. I am glad they have the Microsoft discount. They use real milk (yay!) and smaller (popular in taiwan/asia) boba balls which I really enjoy. Tea is good quality and fresh. Boba was sweet and well cooked without being too sweet. Got 50% sugar which was great! This place ranks high for me in terms of boba, probably in my top three in this area! Ordering is done on a machine with little person to person contact unless you have a question. You enter your phone number and then wait outside and they text you when your order is ready! I went with my boyfriend and got a taro smoothie. I work at a boba place myself so I understand how these things taste and how sugar affects it. I'm a person who likes less sweet desserts so I ordered 50%. When i got the drink there was a hair on it which was really odd and I decided to ignore. Then when I started drinking, it was terrible. I'm not sure if the taro went bad or the milk but it was sour. It was definitely made with rotten ingredients. I decided to go back, inform them of this, and get a refund. When I explained it was sour, one of the two girls working told me it was probably because I didn't put enough sugar in it and asked if I wanted her to add more. I told her no and that it tastes sour. I've had a taro smoothie before with this amount of sugar and it is NOT supposed to taste sour. I asked her to check the date on the milk or review the ingredients used as they may be rotten. She ignored me and chose to not even check. I then asked for a refund and she said she couldn't give it to me but I could choose another drink from the menu. I politely declined as I did NOT want another spoiled drink. I asked why a refund wasn't possible and explained she could just void the order and recharge for the drink my boyfriend got. It was a confusing and stressful situation. The other girl working knew how to issue a refund and gave us one. OVERALL, this was a terrible experience. They were very rude about the drink and decided I was wrong and didn't know what I was talking about without even addressing my concerns over their ingredients. I've gone to other YiFang locations many times and I usually ask for "less boba" and for some reason whenever I ask for less boba at this location they either seem confused or say we can't do that because we pre-make the boba with the brown sugar. I've explained that I'm not asking for the boba to be less sweet... I'm asking for LESS boba (volume). For example, if you normally put 2 scoops, I'm asking for only 1 scoop. I've NEVER had any push back or issues at other locations but every single time I've gone to the Redmond location they say they can't do it or they say they'll "try."
