So coming back to my review the food I had got was very tasty. I just feel that they need to reevaluate pricing / and add more selection- I really hope this location can thrive. Owner please take into consideration that a single crispy Chile Relleno (not even soft which is more work to make) that doesn't come with beans and rice that costs 22 dollars is super steep. I placed a pickup order tonight and when I left the restaurant after picking up my food, I left extremely disappointed. First off, I am a regular customer, and order food from here 1-2 times per week. I've never had a bad experience here until tonight. I arrived at the promise time for when my order was supposed to be ready. I stood at the front for 15 minutes without any acknowledgment from the staff. I counted 4 times the one waitress working made eye contact with me. I heard loud music blasting in the kitchen area, and clearly heard people back there. But no one even acknowledged me. Finally, after 15 minutes of standing at the front of the restaurant with no acknowledgment, a lady asked what I was there for, and then disappeared shortly after to retrieve my order. I waited almost another 10 minutes until I revived my order. Keep in mind that the promise time of my order was 25 minutes prior. I really hope the owner of this restaurant reads this review. I understand being understaffed, I've worked in the food industry before. But a simple "someone will be right with you" goes a long way. DO BETTER! read more

We were in the area for lunch and decided to go out on a whim and try this place. The inside decor is so fun and cozy. Great bar with comfortably seating and a ton of TVs for sports fans! Good selection of beers, wine, bourbons and craft cocktails and solid Mocktails! We enjoyed their chips, and fresh tasting roasted craft salsa. The pork green chili was amazing! Then we sampled 3 of their street tacos-love that you can mix them up and get 3 different kinds. We got the chicken tinga, carne asada and al pastor. Our 2 favorites were carne asada & chicken tinga. We were looking for something different to take a large group, on a friday night, to celebrate our daughters birthday & we came across You Momma's Cantina. First - they allowed us to make a reservation for our group of 15/16 on a Friday night at 715pm. When we got there, they had a table set up for us and ready to go. Our server (I wish I could remember her name because she was an absolute rockstar!) started taking orders right away and did not balk at all with the number of people. Drinks came out quickly & accurately. They have some fun flavored margaritas with watermelon & hibiscus that several of the girls enjoyed. Our server then took our order, double checked to make sure it was correct, answered questions about the menu, etc. Our food came out pretty fast considering the size of the order. Naturally it didn't come exactly at the same time - that would be unrealistic with the size of our party. Everyone's food looked fresh and delicious. We had a lot of taco plates, chili rellenos, quesadillas, etc. I personally had a Cantina Bowl with chicken tinga on it and it was delicious. The chicken had a little kick to it and it was quite moist. I hate dry chicken & this definitely was not. Their pork green chili had great flavor and a great amount of spice. Everyone at the table enjoyed their choices! We did not try desserts since we brought in our own birthday cake, but they did bring us a knife to cut it and helped us get the candle lit. Price wise - I think it is fair for the serving sizes which were generous - especially the fajitas! They do add an automatic 20% gratuity for large parties, but I expected that. Most places do anymore - and honestly, we had such great service that she deserved it plus a little more. All in all we had a great night and a great birthday dinner for our daughter while we were in town. We will definitley be back next time we are in Aurora! Wonderful authentic Mexican/Latin American food! The Bluefin taco was one of my favorite tacos of all time, seared tuna with grapefruit and a delicious salsa with some kick. Birria taco with consommé was delicious as well. The decor is very cool. Large Dia de los Muertos/Steampunk visages adorn one wall and the bar, and artist original Tex/Mex paintings hang as well. The bar has a modern/traditional Latin vibe and the 'tenders sling wonderful potions. Hostess was friendly and knowledgable and servers were strong. The owners catered to us like old friends, always making sure we had everything we needed, giving us menu advice, and even sitting with us when we asked them to. I was really looking forward to trying this new neighborhood restaurant, but we left disappointed. Even though it wasn't that busy, the food came out late and it was subpar. Carne Asada was chewy, chicken in taco was overcooked and dry. Quesadillas reminded me of what we make at home from Hello Fresh. Positives are cleanliness, solid happy hour, and incredibly polite and gracious staff. The people are so nice here, but it's not enough to make up for the lackluster food. In the future when we're looking for a good street taco, we'll bypass this place and head to Torchy's Tacos for a better meal. read more

As we read through the menu options, devouring crispy tortilla chips and perfectly-spiced salsa, we couldn't help but admire the art and decor. This place has a great vibe! If you're a meat-eater, definitely try the queso compuesto! (I'm guessing the vegetarian queso is just as good). We had the pleasure of visiting Yo Mommas Cantina during our Christmas family holiday and the restaurant is very clean and Beautiful with a lovely atmosphere, the music is great with an awesome vibe. Our waiter Alex went above and beyond to serve us, never missed a beat. Thank you, Alex you're awesome! The food was Excellent, we had the Tuna Ceviche, the Chicken Flautas, the Churrasco with chimichurri sauce and truffle fries, the Carne Asada tacos, the Shrimp tacos, the Birria tacos. I have never seen a taco served on a double tortilla in Miami, we even tried the Pozole. Everything we ate was delicious, it is all made from starch even the salsas. We went back for the second time at the end of our trip before flying back home and had the Best Shrimp Burrito and an amazing Tres Leches dessert. The drinks were amazing as well and a Big shout out to their bartender Steven for making the Best Long Island Ice Tea and Great Margaritas! It was really nice sitting at the bar and meeting the locals. You can really tell there is hard work and dedication from everyone at Yo Mommas. This place is fantastic! We enjoyed happy hour margaritas that were smooth and delicious! We also had the white wings, poppers ( both 1/2 price for happy hour), a chicken quesadilla, the enchilada plate and two tacos. Everything was hot and tasted so good! Our server was so sweet and helped us make selections, and was always close by if we needed anything. The restaurant itself was open, well decorated, and very clean! I went last nite and grabbed a bite to eat. Ok great ambiance to start and the salsa that comes with the chips is unique and delicious. I had three taco's I got the brisket , the squash vegetarian with beets and the cod. I started with the calabacitas taco. It was sooooooo good my first bite. Was a dance of flavors. I'd go back alone for this one! Next I had the brisket which was not skimpy on the brisket and the bbq sauce was yummy. Last I had the cod fish taco battered and it was a little dry but I'd love to try it again. There are a series of other tacos to choose from I want to try them all. First time visit and the place is good. It's hard to find good mexican food in aurora let alone any actually good food, and this place was refreshing. Service with a smile. Truly one of the best meals I've had in a while - the food was absolutely incredible, the waitstaff was extra attentive, helpful and polite, and the friendly hostess went above and beyond to get us seated promptly. The menu is a mix of Latin and Mexican dishes that are made special with the chef's unique flair. The food and drinks are well priced. We had a selection of appetizers and split the churasco steak (special) and the chicken chile relleno (regularly on the menu) - and truly the waitress could not have been more helpful in explaining our options based on my food allergies. We also tried a few of their craft cocktails, which were unique and incredible! The meal was amazing and - as the biggest compliment of all - my very picky eater (7-year-old) just about licked his plate clean and said it was the "best dinner he ever had."
