Went here with my mom. Both of us loved our sandwiches. Only could eat half, but strongly considering felling over full just to have more. Ate the second half the next day and despite all the pickles and sauce the bread held up. Was not overly "bready" as you can see in the picture. Bread is firm with a solid crust. None hard and easy to bite through. The sauce and pickle combination is excellent. Really solid on the meat veggie ratio. We also got the tea cookies and some New Orlean chips, all excellent. If I have the opportunity when I visit the area again would make an effort to go out of my way to eat there again. All 3 staff, and maybe owner, were enthusiastic and friendly. Great atmosphere. We got a variety of sandwiches. All had the same issue, lack of meat. They could have doubled what they put which would been barely sufficient. So it's more of a bread sandwich with a hint of meat. Looking at pictures of what others posted, my sandwich looked nothing like them. I got maybe 20%, they didn't even put enough for the thin slices to cover the bread. To attempt to make it taste like a sandwich, I put all the meat onto one half. Helped but still lacking. I looked through several pictures, even the one I found that looked like it had less meat than the other pictures has triple what mine had. So I don't know what the story is there. He let us know how to order , on the dry erase menu, and we ordered a Blazin Turkey Cajun and Pops Italian. We looked around, picked up our chips (great selection of both rare regional chips and regular store chips), they also had a selection of bottled drinks, cookies/deserts, and sides like Potato Salad, soup, etc. Got about 6 bags of chips. The two ladies behind the counter were busy piling on the meats, toasting the bread, while we chatted with the owner about our selections. I commented on the Olive Tapenade and how it was a nice touch and he commented that he made the Tapenade himself. When we got home we finished both sandwiches in like 2 minutes lol. We only got a bite of each other's sandwich, we were too busy eating this sandwich up! This is probably the best sandwich in town I've ever had. I would call this a gourmet home sandwich. #4 POP'S ITALIAN!!!!! Oh my goodness! It was a nice hot day in Gardena. Found this place on Yelp. Reviews looked good and so did the photos. I went for it. Glad I did. First off I want to shout out David for the great service. Very polite and friendly. Helped me navigate through the menu and pointed out some suggestions. I went with the #4. This thing is huge! I only eat twice a day and it kept me full. All of the fresh cut veggies and quality cuts of meat didn't slow me down or make me sluggish. That's how I know it's good food. I might have lost a lot of weight but I still have the big boy appetite lol I'm definitely coming back and I'm bringing friends.
