First off, I don't consider myself a deli sandwich person. Sure, I'll get them at a NY style deli or pack one to go when no better options exists. But beyond their convenience, they're generally sad and bland. Yo-Way is a totally different beast! I've had it favorited for years after it made it on one of Yelp's "Top Places to Eat in the US," but never pulled the trigger until yesterday. We arrived around 2p and the rush had passed. The owner apologized that many of their in-house baked breads had sold out already. No worries, there were options left, but I asked him to surprise me. The sandwich he made is some iteration of their pastrami, but had cranberry walnut bread, and a host of different sauces and toppings. It went in the panini press and he even seared the open face after slicing it into halves. Classy! In short, it was incredible, best-ever... feel free to add any superlatives you want!!! It was that good! My wife had the tuna sandwich and loved it too. The owner was extremely friendly and we enjoyed our time chatting. If you've even read this far, just go! This place is great. I'm on a gluten free diet. Now unfortunately they don't have any GF bread at the time, but they made me a Chicken Salad sandie done lettuce wrap, and it was Soooooo good. Their super friendly, and took all the steps to keep me safe. Just call ahead if your in need of GF, to make sure they have bread for us. Food was amazing, we ordered a group order for my workplace and we each ordered a variety of different sandwiches. Ambiance is your typical sandwich shop, which is very nostalgic. The service was nice and all but have to remove one star due to pick up time was way 30 minutes later than expected. People there working on our sandwiches were accommodating and gave us a heads up they were working on our order. However, they mislabeled some of our sandwiches leading to confusion on which sandwiches are ours bur we figured it out. Would definitely come again to get our sandwiches, but we would need to set an earlier pickup time if we want to get our sandwiches in and out of the shop. read more

When I travel I rely on Yelp to find good, local places to eat and to meet clients and on this trip to the L.A. area, I told some business associates to meet at Yo-Way based upon the reviews. Honestly, I did not look at the photos closely and when I pulled into the parking lot, I had second thoughts. HOWEVER, we all thought Yo-Way had the best deli sandwiches any of us have had in years!!!! It was amazing and the owner was there and showed us the ropes on how to order. This place single-handedly ended my search for an amazing sandwich in the South Bay LA area. Step aside Sandwich Blvd, step aside Giuliano's, step aside Busy Bee, etc etc. Located in an unsuspecting lot shared with a liquor store and across from a truck lot, you'll find red tents that tout the Boar's Head name. Inside, you'll find the best damn sandwiches you could have. First thing's first - the customer service is amazing. I was welcomed by a friendly man behind the counter; I told him I was in search of the best sandwich in the area and he confidently said this would be it. The menu is quite extensive; to order, you need to pick up a laminated menu and mark what you want with a marker. They allow for a plethora of customizations, which will allow you to make your own idea of the perfect sandwich. I went for the Pop's Italian, with no modifications, to get an idea of how they stack it up. I grabbed myself a bag of Tim's Jalapeno chips and a Snapple and sat down as I waited for the sandwich. Eventually, the man (I really should have asked for his name, but I'll catch it next time) came to me and handed the sandwich himself. "Enjoy," he said. The eyes and the phone ate first; the sandwich looked massive and juicy, so I already knew it was the real deal. The first bite was an explosion of flavor. The avocado, the rye bread, the bacon, and all the other things stuffed inside came together in harmony. I reluctantly traded the other half of my sandwich to my friend in exchange for their half of the Slammin' Italian. That sandwich was amazing too, although I think I'm already sold on Pop's. In my opinion, the Slammin' Italian was a tad too heavy on the oil, whereas the Pop's felt cleaner and more refreshing. Be warned that this place is closed on Sundays; you have to catch them every other day, before 6PM. I'll be coming back VERY soon to try the rest of the menu. Cheers! read more

I don't know why I have not done a review for this place since my office is down the street and we order from here quite often. This spot used to be on the top 100 places to eat in America. If you ask me, it still should be on that list. The size of the sandwiches, the quality of the bread and meat, all make for a perfect bite every time. The service from the owner & staff is always amazing and you can tell they make your sandwich with love. Sooooo good. I hike and love to bring a good sandwich when I am at the peak of a 2000ft climb. To find a sandwich that would meet the demands of that kind of appetite is a rarity in a city. Went here with my mom. Both of us loved our sandwiches. Only could eat half, but strongly considering felling over full just to have more. Ate the second half the next day and despite all the pickles and sauce the bread held up. Was not overly "bready" as you can see in the picture. Bread is firm with a solid crust. None hard and easy to bite through. The sauce and pickle combination is excellent. Really solid on the meat veggie ratio. We also got the tea cookies and some New Orlean chips, all excellent. If I have the opportunity when I visit the area again would make an effort to go out of my way to eat there again. All 3 staff, and maybe owner, were enthusiastic and friendly. Great atmosphere. We got a variety of sandwiches. All had the same issue, lack of meat. They could have doubled what they put which would been barely sufficient. So it's more of a bread sandwich with a hint of meat. Looking at pictures of what others posted, my sandwich looked nothing like them. I got maybe 20%, they didn't even put enough for the thin slices to cover the bread. To attempt to make it taste like a sandwich, I put all the meat onto one half. Helped but still lacking. I looked through several pictures, even the one I found that looked like it had less meat than the other pictures has triple what mine had. So I don't know what the story is there. Perhaps the posted pictures are fake bait and switch. How they got such a high average rating doesn't make sense. read more
