On my way home from work this evening I decided to stop for frozen yogurt. The last time I had it, a couple years ago at a place in my neighborhood (not Yogurtland), it tasted horrible. Like eating chemicals. Enough time had passed that I was ready to try it again, but at a different yogurt shop. I ended up at Yogurtland in downtown San Jose, right by SJSU. It was my first time there. There was no line when I went in. I got a little bit of pistachio yogurt and a lot of Dutch chocolate in one bowl. I went overboard with the toppings, adding peanuts, fresh strawberry pieces, toffee, chocolate covered almonds, crumbled peanut butter cups, and mini Reese's Pieces. It was the best frozen yogurt I have ever tasted. It was creamy and smooth and the perfect amount of sweet. I intended to take a few bites and then take the rest home, but I couldn't stop eating it. The shop was pretty clean and the fruit toppings looked fresh with vibrant colors. The person behind the counter was friendly. I'm looking forward to trying other Yogurtlands to see how they compare. read more

When I was told I couldn't use the cup, I cooperated by discarding the yogurt. The way this was framed as "splashing" or "creating a mess" is a mischaracterization of my intent. I even tried to de-escalate the situation by expressing understanding, saying, "I can only imagine how frustrated you must be." Instead of meeting that with professionalism, the staff immediately told me I had to leave. This wasn't about policy, it was about how that policy was communicated. There was no kindness or patience in the way I was addressed. Me and my girlfriend always go to this location and the workers have been nice and caring. Except for today 3/16/26 around 12 pm, we came to get some yogurt and excitedly wanted the 20 anniversary spoon. The girl working today does not say a single word and just stared at people coming in and out. We felt super awkward about this but proceeded to get some anyway. During the checkout, she instantly used my $5 reward without asking me, bringing the total balance to below the threshold for the giant spoon. I got surprised and asked her to redo the transaction but she refused. So we proceeded to get more for the spoon. The location itself is near the university and has most times an uncomfortable crowd along the street; but at the same time because it's across the street from the school, it doesn't feel unsafe. They have a lot of yogurt and toppings options, compared to non-Yogurtland places which can at times have limited yogurt options. If you want to sample, you just ask for sample cups at the counter. The inside is nothing special, but it's worth going in bs ordering on DoorDash because in person you can select multiple yogurt flavors and can control how much of each topping you want. On DoorDash you are limited to one flavor and they control the amount of everything added. It ends up being a lot more. read more

This time I had the Cookies and Crème! This was heavenly. I had the strawberries fruit and they were good and sweet. I love this Yogurtland. I always get the cheesecake bites and mochi toppings and every time has been consistently delicious. The topping station is always clean and doesn't have mismatched stuff in there. Additionally, the yogurt machines are also clean with no mess or stickiness. The employees here are always so nice and helpful. This is my go to location. The establishment is always clean and the tables are not sticky. Such a 10/10 experience. If I lived literally like next to this place I would get it everyday. The kind employee gave us stickers! I just love their flavors. And I love the fact it's a self served yogurt station and I can control the quantity I want. I usually get multiple flavors in small quantities. I highly recommend their sorbets, mango alphonso, cookies n creme and pralines/pecan with fresh fruit toppings and popping boba. I'm not a fan of this location because San Jose downtown is not my favorite place. But you get in quick and get out quick. You pay by weight here, which is great too. **Shocking and unnecessary customer service experience with ANDREA** My pregnant friend and I purposely went to this location because online it says they close at 11. I do not frequent yogurt shops on a normal basis, especially this late at night but needed to get out of the house because I was having an emotional day and this place was open late. We stopped in around 10:15 to grab yogurt for the two of us and Andrea and another young man were already stacking up the chairs and tables, looks like they were trying to shut down early for the night so we went back to our car to eat our yogurt and chat. We had intentions of returning just before closing (11pm) to bring a cup back for my friends husband. It was about 10:50 when we walked back in, the door was UNLOCKED so we proceeded in and went to the yogurt machine. The other young man who was working looked like he was trying to tell us something as we walked back in but his English was very broken and we could not make out what he was saying nor did he tell us up close to stop what we were doing because they were closed, he allowed us to proceed. After my friend made her cup and turned over to the toppings area, Andrea was forcefully and aggressively snatching away all of the toppings refusing us service. Very confused we asked for a spoon and a lid which she aggressively said NO to. "We close in 6 minutes!" -Andrea blaming her behavior on management, which i hope to management this is not how you are training your employees to speak to customers before closing. We had no clue since it was still 10:53 at a yogurt shop that the workers literally just have to charge our yogurt cups press a few buttons and let people on their way that we were going to met with such a combative and mean individual like Andrea. Understandably, it was very close to closing time and we should have come in sooner but in no world should you speak to innocent customers like they are children. We genuinely thought they would close their doors at 11 and then proceed with closing. We were shocked with how much push back and attitude she was giving us that we argued back and it was so heated we just took our cup with us. She tried to make us feel stupid for coming in so late like seriously?? Worst customer service experience weve ever had in our lives. Its not like we came in minutes before to a restaurant requesting a full meal. They're great just never ready. Multiple times I have come 10 minutes after they are supposed to be opened and they are either not open yet or not ready. There will be no chairs out yet, the yogurt will still be liquid, and toppings won't be out. when the yogurt is actually frozen, everything is great though. they'll usually play good music and will sometimes have decorations for holidays. read more

What I like is that everyone is super nice inside and helpful. I wish they had fresh mango slices but they had two options for sorbet and a tart mango froyo which was good. I got the strawberry lemonade sorbet plus the rocket ship popsicle sorbet + granola and the mini fruit flavored boba. It was the late night sweet snack I need. Thanks for being open after 9pm and 10pm. It's so hard to find places to get things in San Jose after 9pm sometimes. The plus is that at least in the evening parking is free after 6 and so if you're lucky and there's parking in front you can get a space or park along fourth street and walk around. They give you gloves when getting your froyo. I've only had positive experiences here. read more
