My temperature soup arrived with the tempura veggies and shrimp separate from the udon and broth, which was a nice touch. Drove up and wasn't sure what to think. Once inside we were greeted by a very nice woman who told us they were closing soon but we could get our order in before the cook left we would be great. That was easy. Everything sounded great in the menu There were 4 of us and we all got something different. I got the noodles, my husband spicy tuna sushi, my friend got the glutton free sushi and her husband got crab salad, we all loved our food and there wasn't a drop of food left. I'm giving if 5 stars for excellent quality, consistency, and such lovely service. If I could dock it a quart star I would for ambiance. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine restaurant, very clean and well taken care of. I just wish it was a place to go and sit at the bar, sip on sake before and after dinner and have a romantic evening out. It could be! But I guess that's not what they're going for. We love our service. She always remembers us and she is so on point. Food service is timely as well. We eat a lot of sushi. When we moved here we thought we'd have to go to buffalo for sushi but even the biggest names in sushi in buffalo aren't as good (or consistent) as Yokoso. We can't go without ordering the shrimp shumi. Then we just get sushi or Nigiri. I really appreciate their mackerel, which is a hard fish to get right. The salmon melts in your mouth. We were on a ride trip and saw that this restaurant had good reviews. We walked in close to closing time and we were greeted with a friendly smile from the staff. The restaurant was quaint, welcoming and accommodating to my gluten dietary needs. The food and service were excellent and we didn't feel rushed at all. Very sad loves this place in the past. Last night went for birthday dinner no drinks for 30-40 min then got drink another 15 then went to bathroom only to see food sitting getting cold waiting to come out came back then more time and asked for appetizers we ordered then got food and one appetizer all food was tepid the soup so salty could not finish and the sushi selection was not good like the past at all never got one app she brought after another 20 min and already was so disappointed she offered the app free send it away didn't even have a full dinner was not appetizing and very very disappointing. She did take percent off bill but omg was just terrible and I am So saddened used fo be one of my fav places to go not sure we will ever be back read more

This is like a 3.5 star for me or weak 4. Hibachi chef was an awesome showman on top of a great chef. The 22min wait for the table to warm and him to finish the other table wasn't awesome. I'm not taking away from them for that because it was later in the evening and he seemed to be the only one. I just feel bad for the teenage date that was there already waiting with empty drinks before we were seated by them, who knows how long they were already there waiting. They have a top notch bartender. They made an awesome drink with a lot of components just right. It could have turned into a sugary mess, but it wasn't at all. YUMMY! Also showmanship on that was grest as well. It comes out in a cool flaming volcano glass that's huge :) it was only like $13 too. I loved and finished the onion soup ,I rarely have more than a spoonful or 2 so that speaks volumes. The broth was very savory and had a slight heat to it. The chicken hibachi was one of my favorites. The chicken, rice, and mixed veggies were cooked perfectly. I loved the mushrooms, carrots, and broccoli in it (I RARELY eat broccoli in Asian food). The waitress wasn't really on her A game. Maybe it's because they were closing in 2hrs or because they just finished a big bday party for little girls. I'm not faulting them too much on that, I understand. I know this isn't classy to say, but the only other con (for me) is that they don't really have a wide selection of things other than hibachi or sushi. I asked for other dipping sauces like hot oil, peanut oil, something like general tsos...ANYTHING to give me some variety in flavor and was met with blank stares. I'm not into the white hibachi sauce or ginger. So the down side was a lot of the same flavor for me. None of the appetizers looked good to me either and the salad they gave was HEAVY ginger. No thanks on that, my friend ate it for me. He's crazy about ginger and even ate my ginger dipping sauce after he plowed through his so we are polar opposites on that. This was my 2nd visit, my first visit was maybe a 3 star due to lack of variety and me not getting anything from the bar. Will I race back? No. Will I avoid it? No. Will I recommend the hibachi show and flavor ? Yes. Will I recommend their bar? YES! read more

Yokoso is our favorite restaurant in the Dunkirk Fredonia area. Food is always perfectly prepared and presented.

Family run establishment. Very clean but dark. Could benefit from mood music and lighting. Service was excellent. Very fast and cordial. Food quality good. Fish very fresh. Rice was a little dry and underseasoned. Would come back next time in town. read more

We went to Yokoso recently and just tried the sushi. I will review again when I try the hibachi as well. This place is only 1 week new so I was Leary and wanted to wait a little longer to let them work out their kinks, but I'm so glad I didn't wait . Wow their sushi was fresh and so filling . They stuff the roll full with very fresh fish . We had the lunch special which is three or 2 rolls at a great price . I also had a special TNT roll which was delicious . The place it self is very clean, they had 5 hibachi grills as well, 2 larger tables for the bigger crowds could seat about 20 people at the bigger ones and 10 at the smaller table. Looks like it would be a great time. The people were having a blast with their chef, and when the food was served you could hear a pin drop because they were all busy eating which is a good sign. I would highly recommend their sushi . I will be back !! read more

I enjoyed my time eating at Yokoso. They have a lot of options outside of Hibachi to eat, so I ordered a Bento box so I could have a little bit of everything! My teriyaki chicken and rice were delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of my miso soup, it was on the watery side. The price wasn't bad for the amount of food I got! I wasn't even able to eat the entire Bento box at the restaurant, so I took it home and got another meal out of it. This is one of the only Asian restaurants in town, and so far I have to say it is the best! Definitely stop by to eat if you get the chance to do so. read more

Have been eating here for two years and have never had a bad meal. We love their special sushi rolls (pink lady, yummy yummy, yokoso roll). We've also had the hibachi meals and they don't overcook things like many places do. The portions are generous any time of day. We often go for lunch were prices are lower and service is FAST. Everyone there is super friendly. I have nothing but great things to say about everything. I feel really blessed to have a place of this calibre open in such a small town. We are fortunate such a great place opened up in town. We love Yokoso! They offer a multi-page sushi, tempura, teriyaki menu with some unique fusion daily specials. The sushi bar is very visible and approachable if you prefer to watch the chef instead of sit in a booth. There is also a hibachi grill (or two?) installed. The sake bar is my favorite part of the restaurant -- the sake is all authentic and imported from Japan; They do not go through local liquor distributors, they actually special-order everything. Wide range of brands, flavors and prices, with different items available by flask, glass or bottles. My favorite sake cocktail was the Sake-tini and I like to try a new bottle every time we go. The interior is new, clean, intimate, and the decor is modern with nice lighting. I only wish they would consider investing in a new restaurant sign for out front. Their signage design looks quite budget/bargain-bin, and they are not properly representing themselves to the public with their off-putting, poorly-designed sign. That's a shame because the interior is elegant and modern as well as the food & drink menus. There's no way this is not hurting their business. We will be back soon, it's my favorite place to bring out-of-town guests when they're in town. read more

Went to Yokoso last night for a birthday dinner with family and had a fantastic meal. We have been to a lot of Hibachi restaurants, and this is easily the best we have been too. Our chef Kevin was awesome! The show he put on was the best we have seen - very funny and engaging. And the food he cooked was awesome! We had a mixture of filet, shrimp, chicken, and NY Strip - all cooked to order and done to perfection. Highly recommend heading out to Yokoso for dinner. Anytime we come back to Fredonia we will make time to have dinner there. read more

I would have thought that this place would be packed - it wasn't and normally isn't. After what seemed liked years before it finally opened - I was even more surprised when they couldn't sell beer or any alcohol at all - appears that the license hasn't come through. Not sure if it's piss poor management or just that there is a language issue between owners and the law. At any rate - our server was friendly enough - seemed like she should still be in school and didn't speak real good English - but what do I know? The selection was typical - the place was clean - of course they had just opened a couple of months before we went in. The cook was really cool though and cooked everything perfectly. Ate dinner somewhere new today - Yokoso - and it was delicious. Great Japanese hibachi food along with Sushi and more. I had the Filet and Shrimp hibachi dinner and Bailee had the shrimp hibachi dinner. Both were great and the salad was too. Soup could have been a little stronger flavor but still great. No liquor license yet but you can bring your own until they get their license. Nice atmosphere and very clean and the staff is very friendly. We will definitely be back.
