We visit this location before PAC shows. We do make reservations in advance, and are always seated quickly. Love the lively atmosphere, but we're still able to hold a conversation at our table. I don't think we've ever had bad service, servers are friendly and helpful with questions about the menu. We'll continue to visit and would recommend to anyone visiting the downtown area. read more

I enjoy adventurous food, but the preparation and combinations really missed the mark. I really love Yokozuna for their drinks and their carpaccios! The sushi rolls are a great, but a little pricy in my opinion, so I love getting items on their menu that I wouldn't get at any old sushi restaurant. Had lunch at this spot today. Located in Downtown Tulsa, it's a good size restaurant with spacious comfortable tables and booths. My Food was pretty good, although a member of our party got the ramen and that looked great. Will try next time. Good Menu with lots of options for everyone. We came in on a tuesday evening and it wasn't super busy but still good amount. Took over ten minutes for our server to come to the table which i didn't notice at first. Ordered edamame to start and it came, good sized portion. again our server was gone for quite some time which was odd because by that time there was only five or six tables in the restaurant. How in the world did such a solid and legitimate sushi bar end up with an overall eating below 4 stars? I just saw a so so sushi bar rated higher than one of Tulsa's finest. Some restaurants are mostly Asian restaurants and serve sushi on the side. Others are solid sushi bars and provide their customers the best quality sushi but have some other Japanese dishes for those who get dragged along but don't want to eat "raw fish." While we were shopping for house and staying with Dan's sister and her husband, they took us to Yokozuna several times. You can't go wrong here. My sister in law knows her sushi. So do I and so our husbands. This is a solid and legitimate sushi and not an Asian cuisine restaurant that decided to add sushi on the side. read more

It was plenty of food for 4 people to share. We also tried 6 sushi rolls & loved them. The nutty Thai professor was one of our favorites. The stealth was a great veggie option. Really great prices in a great location. I was surprised! Our waiter was very kind and congratulatory of my sister and her friend for their college graduation that was to take place that evening. I ordered a couple of rolls and some champagne. The rest of the group ordered actually meals (fried rice, ramen, etc) and the portions were large and they were happy with their meals. It was pretty empty for dinner time on a Saturday, but like I said, it was good, so maybe this was just a fluke! I would go back for sure if that's the type of food I was in the mood for. read more

This location has been my go-to dining-out spot for about six years now. Before moving to Tulsa, the small town I reign from only had one Asian fusion restaurant, so eating at this place was well worth the hour-long drive. Service here is beyond exceptional, with some of the staff knowing me from my frequent visits. They make me feel extremely welcome, and I've always appreciated that. My dad and friends have all been introduced to this lovely location, with each person having their own preferences. Yoko's varying fusion menu always finds a way to accommodate even the pickiest eaters. One of my personal favorites would be the pork belly ramen, which has a rich Tonkatsu-type broth and hearty pork flavor that can't be beaten. Next would be the sumo fried rice. They make it spicy at your request through various means beyond their typical 'chili bomb' using ingredients like Thai chili peppers or fresh jalapeños, again, at your request. Their purple haze sake is one of my favorite drinks to go with any dish here, and did I mention their happy hour specials? The gyoza and chili oil are to dieee for, and a must-have as an appetizer, although I've ordered multiple rounds as just my meal. This location also introduced me to Miller Lite, which sounds underwhelming and silly but shows how much this place has grown my flavor profile, allowing me to try new, tasty things. We really like this place. The only decent sushi in Tulsa. We took our daughter to celebrate her 19th birthday. The server was nice, but completely nonresponsive. Very difficult to get service. One example: we needed bowls for our soy sauce, but couldn't find her. I walked over to the sushi bar and got our bowls. She was standing in the prep area and saw me, but did nothing. At the end of our dinner, we had to move our dishes to the next table in order to open presents. No response. This is my favorite sushi in town and the happy hour is really great. The food is really good, the salmon, the pad Thai, and their brunch is just wonderful. The grilled salmon eggs Benedict is one of my favorite things to get on a Saturday or Sunday for brunch. It's kind of a secret menu but I recommend going there on the weekend for brunch. This restaurant was mentioned by someone I met on the plane, and then when I got to my hotel someone else mentioned it so I thought that there must be something to it if more than 1 person is telling me about it... We walked in and were greeted immediately, and given menus as we wanted to just check it out for a moment. We quickly decided we were staying and were given a table. I asked for the booth and was quickly obliged.. Drake was our waiter and before we could ask for waters he offered to bring them to us. He was very promt and I appreciated that. We finally decided to order the Shrimp Pad Thai, and I got some California rolls. The Shrimp Pad Thai was delicious but they went a little heavy on the peanuts so next time I will let them know light.. and my California rolls were very fresh I was glad I picked this stop. #fatjared say...it was average at best food for me, but the uniqueness of the menu puts this to an above average place to eat. If you don't know, 5 stars on yelp is perfect. So to get a perfect rating from me, you need to be perfect. I stick to that for every review. Yokozuna was good. I enjoyed it and would go back, but it wasn't perfect. The edamame came first, it was good, but not great. Nothing special about it, and not a big portion either. Then we had the beef tenderloin skewers. Those again were good, but a bit chewy, and not spectacular. I'll say though, having that as an option was really cool at a sushi place, and goes well together. The peanuts added were a good addition. We also ordered the tempura sweet potato fries, and deviled wasabi eggs. Both were AMAZING! The sauces with the sweet potatoes were incredible. and just enough wasabi with the deviled eggs. When it came to the sushi, I thought it was a great option to test the chef, and get a chefs choice roll. I gave him the flavors I was looking for, and he brought something out. It checked off what i had asked for, but again taste wise not amazing. Above average, and the fact that they can do that like they do at a speak easy is awesome! My wife got the northside. It was good. Not overpowered by sauce which I like, and seemed fresh. We then ended with dessert. The mochi ice cream was phenomenal! You get 3 different flavors, and the strawberry and green tea were outstanding. Overall, the food I would say was only slightly above average, but the uniqueness and overall menu experience with the originality of the flavors make it very very good. Three words... Yokozuna Happy Hour. If you're looking for a great deal on sushi downtown.. this is where you want to be. From 2-5 they have multiple rolls half off that pop in your taste buds and fill your belly up! This has become a bi-weekly tradition for me and my tribe. The golden driller, hot mess, and California rolls have become a staple in our weekend diet. Not only because they taste delicious with spicy mayo & eel sauce, but because we get about 5 rolls of sushi for under $30. The customer service is always on point as well. Even when there are large groups flooding in the waiters communicate with us to let us know the status of our food. My man Tommy has taken care of us the last two times we've come and even remembered the sauces we like to get on side of our sushi. Yokozuna is a Tulsa gem, and happy hour is the jewel in its crown. When I'm in Tulsa overnight for work, I make sure to stop by Yokozuna for a late lunch or an early dinner. I usually sit at the bar where you can order anything from the menu. They have happy hour specials from 2pm to 6pm (I think it ends at 6pm). The happy hour specials include almost half off certain appetizers and sushi rolls. I like coming here because the staff is always very nice and the food is delicious. I also like their big selection of Japanese whiskeys. It's rare to find Japanese whiskey in Oklahoma so it's refreshing for Yokozuna to offer it. read more

I didn't get any pictures of the cocktails unfortunately, but both my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed them! We got the sriracha chicken steamed buns, which were delicious. I got the Hot Mess roll and my boyfriend got the Flaming Volcano. Both were great and I'd recommend either of them. I will say, I felt that the Hot Mess roll was on the small side at only 6 pieces, especially for the price. Our waitress was amazing and made the experience even more amazing. We got there at 5:30 on a Friday and it was already packed, so I'd definitely suggest a reservation. read more
