Possibly the best service I've had at a restaurant ever. From the hostess who was incredibly friendly and gave us lots of Nashville tips to our waiter who helped me find a wine I liked, to the auxillary staff who filled waters and delivered food. Absolutely wonderful folks in this restaurant! The food was also very good. I ordered the filet and my husband had the lamb and some olives. We both ordered a glass of wine with the help of our knowledgeable server, Keenan. Food took a bit to come out, but it was well worth the wait. Literally the only negative about this place is that it is situated right next to the hotel bar, and it got very loud while we were trying to have a nice dinner in a beautiful restaurant.

Came here for dinner on the night I arrived in Nashville for my Christmas road trip. I don't usually go for Italian, but this place caught my attention with a tasting menu, had a tower of canapés as one of the courses, and showcased Italian cooking in more ways that just pasta. Located just off the lobby of a beautiful hotel, just passed the giant gingerbread house, the ambiance was luxury. Dark seating soft illuminated by incredibly high ceilings and a glass wine cellar area that really made the joint feel classy, but not snooty, if that makes sense. Service was exquisite. Very nice server who was all over our ever need. The courses came out very well-timed, our glasses were never empty, and the explanation of each course was good. They're not always good when it comes to restaurants who don't only do tasting menus. Very good service. As for the food, we got the Esperienza Yolan Tasting Menu. The tasting menu they have right now is different than what we had, which is a great sign. Menus that change with the seasons show passion and attention to detail, I think. So I won't do into detail about what I ate, but I will say that the portion sizes were perfect, the pasta we did encounter was entirely unique in its flavor, the meat we ate was cooked perfectly, and the desserts were elegant and had the perfect sweetness. Overall, I was extremely impressed with Yolan. I have never been surprised by an Italian restaurant like I was this night. I definitely recommend.

This was a highlight of a trip to Nashville. The place is kind of hidden in the Joseph with a nice ambiance. You are immediately greeted by the hostess and taken to your seat where they ask your water preference, a sign of a great meal to come. The menu has plenty of options and they have a wonderful tasting menu that I wish I would have done. I chose not too because they didn't have the one dish I really wanted on it, but I probably should have done it for the value. Anyways what I did have was amazing! I started off with the pappardelle which was super flavorful with the perfect à la dente noodles. I basically licked the spoon clean and would have eaten a second portion if I knew how amazing it was going to be. I then had the merluzzo Nero which was good but honestly should have just gotten a second pasta. The celery root slaw was a little off to me, but the cod was cooked well and the star though was the sauce. I'm glad I tried an entree but I should have just gotten 2 pastas and called it a day like I normally do at a place like this. But this place was pretty awesome but a little expensive. It's going to be a place that I put on the list for a nice occasion not just a random dinner spot which stinks because I'm not from Nashville and don't do a lot of nice occasion dinners. Don't get me wrong when I went this week it hit the spot and I don't really have any regrets, but it was 100+ meal for me who is also a non-drinker. I'm sure I'll be back but when I'm ready to celebrate something not just a random Tuesday.

Stopped by for lunch. Entered from the street level-later realized it's inside of the Joseph, a luxury collection hotel. Nicely decorated space- loved the art. Server knew the menu well and made some recommendations. Appreciated the salad option instead of fries with my huge burger. Perfectly prepared- great taste.

This is a high end restaurant in the Joesph hotel at Nashville. Parking is valet only. The food is expensive but you get what you pay for. Truffles were delicious and the beef flavoring was strong. One of my favorite arugula salads. Service was very good. Our waiter was extremely attentive. The location and setting wasn't the best. This place is really expensive so it's a good treat.

Yolan is an absolute gem in Nashville. From the moment we sat down, everything felt thoughtful, elevated, and genuinely delicious. We started with the focaccia with whipped ricotta and fermented garlic honey, and wow.. this alone is worth the visit. Perfectly airy focaccia paired with creamy ricotta and the subtle sweetness and depth of the garlic honey was an unforgettable combination. For mains, we tried the gnocchi (They ran out of Truffles for the day) and pappardelle, and both were outstanding. The gnocchi was pillowy and rich without being heavy, while the pappardelle was beautifully cooked with layers of flavor that showed real attention to technique and balance. You can tell the pasta is made with care and intention. We finished with the tiramisu, which was the perfect ending light, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. A classic done right. Between the food, ambiance, and overall experience, Yolan truly delivers. Highly recommend for a special night out or anyone looking to enjoy exceptional Italian-inspired cuisine in Nashville. We'll definitely be back.

Yolan had been on my list of places to try for so long and while I liked it, I didn't absolutely adore it. Finding the entrance was iffy and I had to circle the block a few times for it (this could just be a me problem) and the space wasn't as intimate as I'd imagined. The small plates were fantastic. We got the whipped cheese and focaccia and loved it. The menu was very cream heavy so be prepared to fill up fast. There are several vegetarian friendly options but because of the cream, definitely not much for a vegan. The cocktail menu was small, but the wine menu was extensive. All in all it was a fun experience but I'd have to think hard about going back when there are so many other places in Nashville to try

The restaurant is inside The Joseph hotel. The decor and atmosphere is affluent so I'm definitely in between a 3.5 and a 4 so I'll go ahead and give it a 4 because it is not a 3 star rating. We came over for dinner and the service was really good. The only problem is that they speak too fast and too low that we could barely understand what they were saying. The background music/noise was not helping either. When we got past it, we just enjoyed ourselves and that's why most of my pixs don't have description Come check it out and don't forget to clean up and fancy it up... Also, make reservations.

Food is five stars. The experience was not. We went to Yolan for my wife's birthday and ordered the tasting menu. I want to be very clear up front that the food is incredible. Every course was beautifully executed, creative, and genuinely delicious. From a purely culinary standpoint, Yolan absolutely delivers. That said, at this price point, the entire experience matters just as much as the food, and this is where the night fell short for us. From the beginning, things felt a bit disjointed. Our original reservation had already been moved to a different night due to a private event, which we understood, but I did expect the experience on the new date to feel a little more thoughtful as a result. Instead, we were told there would be a short wait for our table, offered bar seating, then placed at a small side table near the bar that felt more like an afterthought than a destination. Throughout the evening, the staff seemed overwhelmed and stressed. Our server was kind but clearly juggling too much. A few drinks were mixed up, some things were forgotten, and at one point I had to track down a manager just to get silverware. When we stepped away briefly to take a photo, our table was completely cleared, which was surprising mid meal. I want to be clear that I do not fault our server personally. In fact, she did not charge us for a few drinks, which felt like an acknowledgment that things had not gone smoothly. Still, at this level, guests should not feel like they are part of the problem. Even small moments added to that feeling. When retrieving our coats at the end of the night, the interaction felt rushed and oddly irritated, rather than warm or reflective of a special evening out. Lastly, while this is subjective, the ambiance did not match the caliber of the food. Compared to other high end restaurants in Nashville, the decor felt dated and mismatched, more like a luxury hotel lobby than a modern destination restaurant. It did not detract from the food, but it did not elevate the experience either. Would I return? Yes, because the food really is that good. Would I hope for a smoother, more thoughtful service experience next time? Absolutely. Yolan has incredible culinary talent. With tighter front of house execution and more intentional hospitality, it could truly be something special.

    Fried olives

Food: 4* Service: 3* Ambiance: 4* Food I ordered the fried olives based upon the reviews and they were interesting. Breaded and stuffed with Gorgonzola cheese. They were okay, different, but not special (3*). I also had the arugula salad with cacio e pepe (cheese and pepper) dressing. It was ample, fresh, and tasty (4*). For my main course, I ordered the gnocchi with white (winter) truffles. The chef comes over and delivers your dish, then he very dramatically holds the white truffle and shaver and begins to shower your dish with truffle shavings. The smell of truffles gently wafts toward you as it is shaved and hits the hot sauce warming them slightly. Very theatrical and fun. It was creamy, light, yet rich (5*). I actually asked for some bread to sop up the remaining sauce (fare la scarpetta - mop up with sauce). Service Hit and miss. Our server either had too many tables or was new. But the manager kept having to come over to take care of us due to the servers absence. I ordered white wine and it took 20 minutes for it to arrive. The refill took another 30 minutes. Meh on the service. Ambiance Located in a hotel on the first floor. Dark, relatively noisy due to the open nature of the dining room and proximity to the bar. The casual atmosphere was enjoyable, but also felt a little stodgy at times. Not bad, just seemed misplaced. All in all a good meal. I would find other restaurants next time rather than repeat here. Again, not a bad meal at all, but for the price, the value for the experience received wasn't worth it. 2 people with two salads, one appetizer, three glasses of wine by the glass and two modest entrees = $250.

    Natasha B.

Amazing! The truffle gnocchi was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Fresh! They also have a wonderful assortment of breads and oils, which was a nice touch and elevated the whole meal. The staff was very competent, attentive, and professional throughout. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience. I'll definitely be back if I go back to Nashville.

Chef's table in the kitchen is a must
    Mark G.

One of my favorite dinners in over a year. Sitting in the kitchen with the cacophony of service in full swing was fantastic. And yet, chef Selim took the time to come over for every course to explain and share in our journey through the contemporary Italian experience. Food was excellent. Service and wine perfect. The dining room is more upscale/reserved but a dinner in the kitchen was special. Don't skip if it's available.

    Jim L.

The food was decent but I don't think it blows out of your mind and it's not something that's extraordinary. The valet's nice but it's just too expansive for what it is...

There was no live music available at the time, but they did have a DJ which I thought was spinning the turntable rather well. It's my bad that I didn't also catch on that his is basically a Tequila Bar, rather than a more general craft cocktail establishment. Judging by the well stocked bar and the word of our waitress, other alcohol and their associated craft creations are available, but it's pretty much off menu and not well into our waitress' repertoire. And yes, Cinco de Mayo was just a few days away. One member of our party just wanted a soft drink, which was not possible that night as their CO2 was down. That did make me wonder whether the non-alcohol drinkers had much to chose from here. I suppose we could have then wandered over to the Redemption Bar at Chief's? Anyway, we're not Tequila Drinkers, and since other drink options appeared to be guesswork, we left towards more traditional mixed drinks (and live music) at a nearby Printers Alley bar. This was a rare night that I really wanted a craft cocktail in a smooth environment, and in the end it just wasn't the same.
