    Braised beef noodle $11.99

Great lunch special of a box of rice, 2 meats and 2 veggies of my choosing for $8.99. Also picked up some veggies side dish for $6.99.

Mediocre food, but no where else is open this late. All I can say is, the food is eatable. If you don't want western fast food, this restaurant will suffice.

I wanted to try this restaurant for a long time and I had to order take out because of covid19. I ordered Yong He Style Chicken -$9.99, northeast bean jelly noodle - $9.99, double cooked pork slices -$13.99, spicy chicken gristle-$15.99. So everything after tax was around $55. Service - average. I did called 20 mintuahead and placed my order on the phone and waited for a bit at the restaurant.

This was an overwhelmingly positive breakfast experience. I've never had anything like it and I loved how down-to-earth everything was. This place, which was essentially an open cafeteria, has both a hot food table station and menu items which you can order. Basically I had a combination of both. A lot of the things are in Chinese but you can simply ask if you are unsure about anything. I went and got my hot table items first. For $5.99, I got 3 different cold salad items. Next, I grabbed a cup of soy milk. For only $1.99, you get unlimited fresh hot soy milk. This was a deal I could not run away from. The milk is actually unsweetened, so you're able to customize your sugar content. Lastly, I grabbed two pancakes - one being a pumpkin pancake, and the other, a meat pancake. These are staple Chinese breakfast items that I've been always meaning to try. As for the menu items, we ordered pickled cabbage with potato noodles and double cooked pork slices (Guo Bao Rou - Sweet and Sour Fried Pork). The salad items were a definite must. They help to balance the oiliness of the other foods. On top of that, they were refreshing and delicious. I love the shredded potato side dish. It's sweet and sour, and has a unique crunch to it. The soy milk was warm and fresh. You can tell that they make it in house, which is always a great thing. The pancakes were a bit cold since they leave it out, but the fact that they tasted so good at that state, just reveals how delicious they'd be fresh. The pumpkin pancake was sweet and it had an almost mochi-esque texture. It was yummy. The beef pancake is a must order. I loved how juicy and savoury the meat filling was. As for the potato noodles. This is pretty much an acquired taste - at first I was shocked by the sourness of the dish. However, I came to love the dish. It was garlicky, filling, and had tons of flavour. This is a dish that goes well with rice. The fried pork was also very delicious. I'd say that it's the best guo bao rou in all of Toronto. They made the sauce right - sweet and sour, and the batter had the right texture - crunchy bite, but chewy interior. I loved it. This place is pretty much a self-serve restaurant. You simply order your items at the hot table and pay at the counter. People were generally very nice and the atmosphere makes it a very casual brunch spot.

I am naturally biased and want to love this place as soon as I saw it. Growing up in China and eating traditional Chinese style breakfast in street stalls was a fond memory. This is why I was so excited to see a location of the famous Yong He breakfast restaurant opened in Toronto! I'll try to be as unbiased as possible in my review of the food and services though =) Prices are all quite inexpensive and all of their congees/porridges are free refills! Basically you pay for the bowl, and you can go back and refill and try different types of the congees each time...if you have the stomach space for it lol. I love love love their congees! Very soul-healing, if you're a soup/congee type of person. Pairing any of their congees with the cold side dishes (pickled veggies, pig's ear, seaweed, potato, etc) is basically my idea of a nice Chinese breakfast. They also have various types of pork buns, and veggie buns. Overall in enjoy them, the fillings are delicious (my favorite is pork and pickled cabbage) but I wish they had made the filling less oily. Two of my three buns had oils dripping and pooling inside my bowl =(. Their Youtiao, the famous Chinese breakfast staple, aka the Chinese fried churros, is on point! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with somehow just the perfect amount of savory seasoning in the dough. My parents enjoyed it a lot, and I feel like it satisfied their homesickness a little bit. The service staff all speak Mandarin for sure, I cannot attest to their English skills, and I have read reviews that complain of their lack of English service. I hope they try to make this improvement in order to be more inclusive to all Canadians, and even other Chinese dialects lol Overall I had a satisfactory breakfast here! Any place that reminds people of the food of their childhood is good! I hope the chain expands, but also to try to adapt their foods to accommodate modern people's health consciousness =).

Last night, I was supposed to meet another friend of mine, but that did not work out, so my friend suggested that I come here instead with my beau. He was free, so I was like why not give this a shot with him. This place is rather new and it is open 24/7. Decent place for Chinese all day breakfast place, but when we saw the menu, we were more interested in their pan Asian offerings. Location: 4/5 It is right next to Pacific Mall on Kennedy Rd, so there is a lot of parking space, but the intersection can be a hassle to drive through. Decor/Ambience: 4/5 A mix between modern and traditional with wooden tables and short wooden stools for seating and Chinese murals as backdrops. You can put your bags and coats in. Clean space. Food quality: 3/5 We ordered shrimp dumplings (HK), kimchi fried rice (Korean), and peanut pancake, cold noodles with soy paste and grill lamb were definitely northern/mainland Chinese food. Their kimchi fried rice needed more kimchi and more flavour, but apparently their lamb was seasoned perfectly well! But seriously, where is the kimchi? There simply was not enough flavour in the entire dish; quite disappointing. Do not recommend anyone ordering that. It was more oil than actual spices much less actual kimchi/cabbage. Everything else was just ok. Not really our cup of tea. Service: 2.5/5 They do not tidy up after people have already paid and left until more than 5-10 minutes later, even though the place was less than half full. They mostly speak Mandarin there and so when my beau tried to speak English to them, they did not really get what he was saying. Service was ok, but otherwise slow. Value: 3/5 I do not think the price was entirely justified, because we definitely paid more than it should costed us. The fried rice had no eggs and barely any kimchi just rice. Only the lamb turned out better than we thought, but then again it was $18 for two pieces. It better have been good. I would not know since I do not eat meat. Overall: 3/5 I will be nice, but I probably would not come back here again.

It's hard not to notice this place especially at night. Bright lights, big open windows, you can't help but take a peek in. After waiting a few months since they put up their sign, I decided to pass by this place on the way back home to see if they were finally open and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was. It was about midnight so I was happy to find something open that wasn't a McDonalds. The decor and layout of the space is very inviting, a good cross between old school Chinese decor and modern styling. Was greeted and told to sit anywhere, so I picked a spot closer to the front so I can see how everything works. Mind you, this is not the typical breakfast place despite the name. The restaurant seems to specialize in Northern Chinese cuisine. The menu itself is fairly concise, not an overwhelming selection like how you would expect most Chinese restaurants. The main issue however is that if you cannot read Chinese, be prepared to hit a roadblock. A lot of the menu items are direct translations and do not describe the dish at all, and the staff speak next to no english aside from asking how many seats. The signs/menu items on the wall are also written in Chinese only. Google translate may be your best friend here. I ordered the Chilli Fried Noodles, Chilli Oil Beef, Leek Pancake, and a Pork & Cabbage Bun to try. Everything came in a fair amount of time one after another. Overall, everything was delicious, especially the Chilli Noodles and Beef. If you're a fan of heat or just want to warm up from the cold, these dishes are definitely for you. The bun was also very juicy and soft, well worth the $1.50. While having tons of different flavours, my only wish is that they used less oil. The amount of oil on everything I felt was much more than is needed, everything was practically drowning in it. -1 star for that. Another issue was the service. I mentioned earlier that while the servers speak minimal to no english, they seem to lack the basic customer service skills on top. It took 10 minutes for the bill to arrive in an almost empty restaurant (1 other table of 6 other guests who appear to be friends of the staff). Even after waving at the 2 waitresses, literally 2 feet away and calling for their attention, they managed to look directly past me and walk away. When I finally decided to walk up to the front cashier and ask again for my bill, the staff just looked over at my table and walked away to ask someone else to do it. I'm not sure if this was just a case of lack of training and she didn't know how to, but I found it extremely rude. Total damage for the night was $30. Would I come back? Maybe. Since there's limited options open late in the area, if I have no other choice I may return. I might give them a few months to flesh out their service details and see how they do, because as is I don't think they'll have many returning customers. If you can look past the poor customer service/experience, the food itself is rather worth a try.

Authentic Southeastern style BBQ skewers, not deep fried as other skewers. Good service.

    Kristy ..

The breakfast joint now has a patio area for just BBQ skewers and other items from 5pm onwards everyday!! You can order from their BBQ menu and also their regular menu items. The bbq menu is for eat-in only. Loved their cold noodles as well as various stir fry clam flavour options. Grilled garlic oysters are a must

May be three and a half stars. It is like a cafeteria, serving breakfast all day long. The place was clean. The service was great. It had a lot food items to choose from. The soy milk was light. The fried dough was fresh, but a little bit oily. The sticky rice cake was oily. The Yong He style chicken was very good, it had a distinct flavor from China.

    Chris C.

Best way to describe this place; it was like a Chinese cafeteria. They have an open kitchen area where food is already prepared. You just grab and fo pay. You can also order stuff that is made fresh. Really didn't know what to order or what this placed specialized in but it was packed and everyone was speaking Mandarin. Frankly, I'm still not sure what we ordered, some small bowls of congee, an eggplant dish and some sweet Chinese style pancakes. It might sound like a lot but it really wasn't much to eat and it was over $17. I'm sure there are better stuff to order here but we just didn't know what their go to dishes were. Not really my cup of tea.

    Daisy X.

The cold dishes are out of this worldly delicious! Overall this place offers very authentic Chinese food. Nothing fancy pantsy but exactly what you find in China. They are also open 24/7! There still so many dishes that I want to try next time. True that the menu is not perfectly translated. Imagine a person who doesn't read Chinese or understand the Chinese food thoroughly, there might be some lost in translation situations.

The food here is very generous. We ordered the 4-person set with two side pots. Tomato Braised Beef Brisket and Chicken Stewed with Mushrooms and the portions were huge. Both pots arrived steaming hot and filled to the brim, clearly meant for sharing. The braised beef was rich and hearty, while the chicken pot was comforting and full of flavor, making it perfect for group dining or cold weather meals. Combined with the rustic, traditional décor, it really feels like authentic Northeast Chinese comfort food. The food and atmosphere were excellent, though the service was a bit lacking. I wanted to try Peking Duck and got clued into J&Y as one of the best options to try which did not disappoint. The Peking Duck was so tender, so flavorful and so wonderfully succulent. It was perfectly prepared and sliced with the fat rendered and thinly sliced. The wraps were not the monstrous steamed buns but traditional translucent wraps which are super thin, soft and pliable. Scallions, cucumber, hoisin sauce completed each wrap which highlighted the duck. Definitely the best traditional Peking Duck preparation I've had in a very very long time. The remains of the duck were used for make a duck fried rice and duck soup, again both were amazing. It takes a certain skill to make fried rice cleanly without an excessive oily coating on each grain of rice. This was one of the best fried rices I've ever had! No gratuitous mushy frozen peas needlessly added either. Well seasoned fried pork ribs and veggies completed the courses I had, everything was truly wonderful and I hope to revisit again.

I was hoping to find something special on the menu. The Peking duck caught my eye at around $70, but then I discovered that almost everything else was extra--lettuce wraps, stir-fried duck meat, fried rice, and soup. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

When we arrived, he insisted that we did not have a reservation even after we showed our confirmation, and, instead of apologizing for what appeared to be the restaurant's booking system error, he tried to lecture us about how certain reservation websites do not allow large-group bookings. Rather than taking responsibility or working professionally toward a solution, his attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. Fortunately, the lady working with him was kind, professional, and genuinely tried to explain the situation and find a way to accommodate us. She deserves recognition for her efforts. Our group was in town for an eight-day conference with more than 3,000 attendees. Because of this experience, this restaurant has unfortunately been added to the "not recommended" list for this annual event. When restaurants host business travelers, the way guests are treated matters just as much as the quality of the food. Unprofessional treatment of customers and business partners can damage relationships and cost businesses significant opportunities. To anyone considering this restaurant: the food is excellent, but if you're planning an important business dinner or any special occasion, be aware that the wrong interaction at the front desk could ruin your evening. I had my food in my insulated bag, so the sauce leaked into the Fantuan bag and my insulated bag. Luckily, my car was fine. As a result, my rating is four stars. I wanted to try a new eatery. I looked at my Fantuan app and noticed He Bei Chinese Cuisine. It had dumplings and snacks that I enjoy, so I said yes to placing a dinner order from this eatery. I ordered these items: - Pork and chive steamed dumplings (large has 14 dumplings) - Tea eggs - Shredded potato salad On Fantuan, when you purchase $15 worth of food, you get the shredded potato salad for a cent. Deal! After placing my order near my home, I drove over to this eatery. The drive was ten minutes. I was given an estimated time of fifteen minutes. It was ready in ten minutes. I had no problem finding this eatery. There was plenty of parking. I pulled into a spot and walked in. I saw the Yubu sign. My heart sank, as I loved the Korean tofu pockets from this joint. I liked seeing places to sit down and eat at He Bei. Nice! A woman behind the counter came over. I said that I had a Fantuan order. She talked to me in Mandarin. I don't understand it, but we were fine communicating with each other in our languages. She pointed out the blue Fantuan bag on the table behind me. I thanked her and wished her a nice day. She said thanks right back. I put my food in my insulated bag. With the leak, I managed to launder the Fantuan bag and clean my insulated bag. After I cleaned up, I had dinner at home. The food was amazing and filling! I loved the shredded potato salad. Sure, a lot of the sesame-soy sauce was gone. However, it tasted yummy. It was worth the cent! The steamed pork and chive dumplings were so good. I didn't dunk them in soy sauce. The filling had so much moisture that I felt like I was eating soup dumplings. The filling had yummy flavour and the dumplings were steamed to perfection. Excellent! You can buy frozen dumplings from this place. I'll need to do it. The tea eggs were the perfect snack while streaming hockey games. I peeled the shells off both of them. The eggs were cracked to allow the amazing soy-based sauce to marinate and get into the eggs. Delicious! I'm a fan. I'll take a closer look at the lids on my food next time. I'm glad that I put food in my insulated bag. It saved cleaning my car's upholstery! (59)

They definitely gave us all the pieces of the 3lbs lobster. The gai lan had a bitter aftertaste, which is common for this vegetable. I wished they had a way to get rid of that. They were generous with the amount of beef and was well marinated. The cut wasn't that great, but that is to be expected. I don't think they added much MSG or at least used good quality ones, as we did not feel overly thirsty later in the evening. They give free daily soup and dessert. What we were most impressive was with the service. The waiters were very attentive, changing our plates twice during our 1ish hour meal. The also gave us wet wipes and more napkins without us requesting it. They even offered us additional soup, which we declined as we were quite full.

But I gave it 4 stars because of the experience yesterday. The food was substandard on this visit. I ordered 1. Jumbo seafood congee (taste was bland) 2. Grouper and tofu hot pot (best of all 4) 3. Black bean and beef Hofun (seriously lacking in quality) 4. Chinese dough fritters (awesome as always) I would say I was 50% satisfied with the meal. But I will be back as I said this place hardly disappoints and Even with this experience it's still an easy recommendation to come here I hope next time the quality is up to their old 30 year standards.

The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. The lobster while impressive when they brought it out was not as flavorful as one would have expected. And same with the king crab legs - my favorite have been the ones I've had in SF. Was interesting to come and experience it but I wouldn't come back. I prefer quality food over an IG-moment.

The establishment is famous for its iconic, towering mountains of deep-fried Hong Kong-style lobster and giant Alaskan king crabs.Without a doubt, the food is exceptional. The seafood is extraordinarily fresh--pulled straight from massive surrounding glass tanks--and prepared to absolute perfection with their signature Maggi sauce and garlic toppings. However, the major downside here is the notoriously slow and chaotic service. Due to the massive crowds, servers can be hard to flag down, orders take a long time to arrive, and the staff often feels rushed or inattentive. Despite the frustrating wait times and subpar service, the spectacular flavors and theatrical presentation make it a worthwhile destination for patient seafood lovers.Watch the massive lobster towers being prepared and served fresh at this iconic spot

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.
