I stumbled upon Yonutz while running errands (between Trader Joe's and the UPS store) I noticed this bright pink corner spot and figured I'd give it a try. That location's been a lot of things before, so maybe I should've known better, but I'm always curious when a place is dedicated to donuts. The ambience was fun. lots of pink, definitely Instagram-friendly. But then I saw a huge dead fly on the floor. Not trying to blame them, it was behind a tall glass serving station, so they probably didn't see it, but still, not a great first impression. The regular-sized donuts looked super fake, like they were drowning in frosting and sugary toppings. It was giving more "display case" than "edible." So, I went for four of the smaller ones, hoping variety might redeem the experience. But even then, I couldn't find four that looked genuinely appetizing. I settled on two chocolate and two Nutella, figuring Nutella's a safe bet. I took them to go and tried the Nutella one home, aaaannndddd I was disappointed. It was chewy in a stale kind of way, not the good kind. I had to grab milk just to get through it. I almost called to say something, but it was Friday, I was having a good day and didn't want to kill the vibe. I paid about $10 total (donuts, tax, tip) and just chalked it up as a lesson learned. My spouse had the chocolate ones and said they were "fine"--but he's not picky, so take that with a grain of sugar . Maybe they were just having an off day, but I won't be going back to find out. Stopped in here looking for some sweet desserts after dinner. They advertised donuts and thought we would give it a try. The place is back in the far corner of a strip center, so you have to keep your eyes open or you may miss it. We walked in and there was a young lady working the counter. To be honest she didn't seem too happy waiting on the customer in front of us. When she came over to talk to us we asked what they had and she said they only had ice cream sandwiched between two donuts. Not a pleasant girl only. When I finally pointed out that some looked like donuts she grumbled and walked away. A lady in the corner got up from the table and sent her back to us. Needless to say not great customer service. My husband & I were looking for something different than our normal ice cream treat & stumbled upon Yonutz. We are sooo glad we did! We were quickly greeted by the sweetest lady. She was eager to tell us about the variety of options but also gave us time to make our decision without any pressure. When we asked her questions she was helpful & easily checked us out. We didn't have to wait long & the ice cream was gone sooner than we got it. It was DELICIOUS! Very different than any other ice cream treat we'd had ever had. The donut was fresh & warm while the ice cream was cold The restaurant was busy when we got there but was still easy to fine a seat. We didn't have to stand in line to order but seemed like the line moved quickly when there was one. The restaurant is fun, colorful & well decorated. It's very clean! My only suggest would be to have some way for customers to be able to access water. We didn't ask so it may have just been in the back but would just be a nice to have. I bet you didn't know this, but... I want Yonutz. That's just fun to say. This is fun to eat, but can be a bit of a challenge. My wife and I got the strawberry shortcake version. It was good. The ice cream was tasty. The donut portion is a bit difficult to eat with a spoon. You really need a knife to cut into it and get the donut and ice cream together. Ours totally tasted like strawberry shortcake. The one we ordered isn't the one we were shooting for. They have others that are smaller, but we didn't know how to order them correctly. It was our bad. The one we got was too big for both of us, so for just one of us would have been a bit of a challenge. It is just a lot of sugar, including sprinkles. Still, we got exactly what we asked for. It tasted like it should have and was reasonable. This dessert place is mediocre at best. I had the kinder smashed donut. The donut itself was not good at all you can taste the oil it's fried in. The ice cream was pretty frozen for a heated up smashed donut. The toppings and fillings were really good. The service was excellent too. The workers gave us their opinion and showed interest in actually helping out. The design of the establishment is your basic dessert shop. My biggest issue with this place is their prices. $10 for a milkshake????? $22 for a dozen of bad donuts???? That to me is crazy. If the stuff was out of this world good then I'd understand. I like donuts. I like ice cream. Smooshing them together seems like a good combo right? Well, its pretty dang good. I had the nutella crunch smash- you will make a giant mess of chocolate crumbs all over the place, but its pretty tasty. Its a nice mix of a warm donut and the cold ice cream. Then ordered Nutella crunch with cookies and cream ice cream (original is cookie dough but I'm not a fan of that so I asked for cookies and cream) OMG! It was really good and if you've had AFTERS ice cream...this is so much better! The donut isn't glazed so it doesn't make it overly sweet. First of all , i was extremely impressed by the quality of these desserts .I ordered my smashed donut togo and I live about 20 mins away . I was extremely impressed by the fact that my ice cream was nice and firm ,and the donut was fluffy and warm still. Great place for a late night treat , and the prices are reasonable. Yonutz has a wonderful selection to choose from and it hard to just pick one . I highly recommend to order and share , so you will be able to try it all eventually. This place is tucked inside a shopping center with ample parking! Thursday night seemed to be quite packed, but people were out after about 15 mins. Which made room for the next wave of people to have a seat to eat. Although busy I noticed the place was clean! Which I loved. Cute spot for a date night The ice cream is thick and creamy ! Not gonna lie, when I walked in and saw the donuts in the case, I didn't expect much. The place is clean and nice but the donuts just look kinda normal and unassuming. The flavors are creative and fun but they all looked sort of dry and bland to be completely honest. But I was so wrong. These are some of the softest and most flavorful donuts I've ever had. I'm actually intrigued how they get them to be like little clouds. They're perfect. The ice cream was good too! Sometimes when you get the donut ice cream sandwiches, the ice cream is way too hard for the soft donut but they got the balance right here. I guess my fiancé and I just had a bad experience. My fiancé and I frequently use an app called TooGoodToGo (great app, definitely recommend) and I had seen that Yonutz was on it. I had heard about Yonutz via social media and had been waiting for a couple years for them to open a Texas location close to me. So I was ecstatic to try this place. We woke up super early and drove from Denton to Dallas (which is hard because I'm pregnant). We get to Yonutz and the decor is really promising, however we are not greeted at all, in fact the employees just stared at us through the kitchen window. They then continued to just stare at us, and when my fiancé was asking questions they were super rude and just threw the menu at us, (they genuinely just tossed the menu at us, not even making eye contact). In addition to picking up our order I wanted to try the Bueno specialty donut and the Banana Pudding shake. I was super excited but was ultimately SUPER disappointed. First it was super overpriced and I'm pretty sure the specialty donut was raw, it was tasteless and ultimately underwhelming. The donut and ice cream (which is just blue bell) had no taste and so the only thing you could taste was the insane amount of toppings which all just fell off. The shake was good but ended up making me throw up in the car (I think it was the shake + raw donut) so that was fun. In regards to the donuts we got from TooGoodToGo were so tasteless and sad. The donuts were whole, so it was like it was supposed to have filling but there was nothing. So it was a lot of bland tasteless donut and some icing and a little bit of toppings. There was one donut, I believe it was supposed to be PB&J, that had filling. I took one bite and spit it up, it was awful. Overall this place has a lot of potential and maybe if it was in a better location with better employees my experience would have been different.
