Portions are huge here! Which is a good thing haha. We got the country fried chicken, t.j. hamburger, and a Belgian waffle. The country fried chicken comes with 2 peices of chicken topped with gravy, some hash potatoes, 2 eggs, and 2 homemade biscuits! I wish I took some biscuits home, they taste amazing! Especially with jam. The gravy was just okay in my opinion. Didn't have too much flavor, tasted a little bland but the chicken was crispy and tender! The potato hash was okay too, had it with ketchup. The t.j. hamburger came with fries and the fries are the meaty fries, not the skinny ones! My friend ate her entire burger and said she enjoyed it. Been living around the area for a while and been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time because i always pass by it, but just never got around to stopping in. I took my in-laws here for breakfast/lunch and everyone was very happy with their meal. I ordered fish and chips, which was very delicious. The batter was crispy with a good flavor and the cod was steamy and buttery. The coleslaw was pretty good too. Come here for breakfast! You won't regret it. With as often as I frequent this establishment, I should have reviewed them a long time ago. I'm here at least once a week, it's all about the breakfast rib eye with some sausage gravy on the crispy yet soft thick cut home fries. Everything here is made in house, true country cooking, down to the large portions with those divey diner prices. The hotcakes are delicious and fill up almost the entire plate, the bacon is thick, the hungry man breakfast special fills you to bursting, I really can't complain about anything on the breakfast special side of the menu. When you first walk in to Yorkshire, the decor does not add to the experience, but its clean, just a little old and run down though I think they are slowly working on some minor renovations. It doesn't have any smoke smells as another reviewer mentioned, seriously it was probably one of the older patrons that frequents it as much as I do. Yes it could use a fresh coat of paint but I'm here for weekend morning deliciousness where the focus is on the food and not the pretentiousness. The clientele are even small town folk types, this really is a local establishment and makes it that much more Pleasant because everyone is so darn polite and friendly. The entire is all extremely friendly and eager to please. I never have to wait long even during those busy after church Sunday mornings. Couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to see on a weekly basis. Looks can be deceiving, don't judge a book by its cover. :) read more

About a 3-3.5: The Yorkshire Restaurant has been established back in '58, and offers breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner options, including soups, sandwiches, salads, seafood, children options, and desserts. The hubs and I came here for a later breakfast, and we tried: the Ribeye Steak Breakfast (comes with 2 eggs (of your choice), homefries, and toast or biscuits; the ribeye itself was cooked well and it was juicy and flavorful with not too much fat; the homefries, while it had a nice little crisp exterior, was still mushy and forgettable; we opted for the toast on this one, and they come already buttered, which was super convenient!); a Country Fried Steak with Sausage Gravy (you can choose beef or chicken, and we opted for beef; this also came with 2 eggs, homefries, and toast or biscuits; the country fried steak was extremely large, fried well, and a tad be underseasoned; we opted for biscuits for this one, and the biscuits were also already buttered and pretty okay in taste - it would have been great if the biscuits were a bit more fluffier and warm); a side of Corned Beef Hash (the hubs loved this; it was cooked perfectly, with a slight crisp; slightly salty, this was great with the buttered toast); a small bowl of chipped beef (this was actually pretty flavorful and tasty, and great with the toast; one of the better chipped beef I've had); and, a small bowl of sausage gravy (little bits of sausage, the gravy was a little less flavorful; the chipped beef was the better option). The only issue I had was that we had requested the sausage gravy to be served on the side, but the country fried steak already came dressed in it; our server accidentally put in another order of an extra bowl of sausage gravy, which we didn't order). Aside from that, the overall breakfast experience was pleasant - the staff were friendly, the used tables were quickly cleaned and wiped off. While there was a couple of parties ahead of us, we were seated within 10 minutes or so. The place is super packed on the weekends, so I highly recommend in coming a little earlier. Awesome breakfast. Have been here twice since just recently moving to the area and will definitely continue to come here. First time and we were pleasently surprised. Got the biscuits and sausage gravy, and the pancakes combo breakfast. Everything was soooo good. The second time we came we knew they did things right, got the belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. Was so good you didnt even need syrup. Light fluffy and just mmmm. The second time we came my boyfriend got the chipped beef gravy and while it was good, not as good as the sausage gravy the time before. The service has been attentive and friendly each time and the prices are great for what you get. While im not against trying other food there, i dont know if i could stray away from the breakfast options because they are just so damn good. Sorry folks, I wasn't all that impressed. I went here because I didn't have a table and was trying to keep it local by eating breakfast somewhere nearby in case it arrived early. So I looked for breakfast reviews. This one came up, so I tried it. I ordered the pancake breakfast. Came with two eggs and a meat. Oh, also ordered an apple juice and hash browns with a water. Pancakes were not bad, but the canadian bacon (the meat) was very dry. Not very good at all. The eggs were fairly runny, and the hash browns were either bland or way too salty. I couldn't tell. Oh, and the apple juice was too small. I don't think I will return here, despite the friendly wait staff. The food is just okay, but I'll have to try the other diner restaurants in the area before making a firm decision on whether to try it again or not. read more

Whether it's the pan cakes, corn beef hash, club sandwich, chili, stuffed green peppers, cream chipped beef, patty melt...etc. it is always top-notch. a lot of the locals go there and have been going there for years. if you love a good, hardy country breakfast. this is the place. I was looking for a good casual brunch place on a Sunday morning. Somewhere I can go in sweats and no make up... I found just the place! The country chicken biscuits and gravy are amazing!!! The ribeye breakfast is juicy and yummy too! They know how to make the eggs just right (I ordered them over medium). Food was so good that I forgot to take pics until I was almost done with my meal :( You can't beat the price either! For 5 of us, our bill came out to $57 (excluding tip). The decor is pretty run down -- a very old diner feel, but I'm fine with that as long as the food lives up to my expectation, which it definitely did! The service was surprisingly amazing too. The waitress checked in on us 3 or 4 times during the meal to make sure we didn't need anything else. We went for breakfast this morning. Was hoping for good meal at a fair price. The meal was average; they were very busy in a Saturday morning, even still the service was fair. She got the Bacon and Cheese Omelet was okay, not bad just not great; needs flavor or spice which was lacking across the board. Cheese slices were used which I don't mind but thought it noteworthy. Potatoes were good and real but again missing seasoning. Oil is not seasoning. Coffee was very good! He got the Hungry Man Breakfast and the portions are generous! If I were only judging by the food, it might be closer to 3 stars than 4, but the service was exceptional! It was a very homey restaurant and I felt welcomed there, which is not a feeling I really get that often around here! For the food, it was a great value I would say. It was fluffy rather than eggy which I enjoyed. The sausage was awful. I should've chosen ham or bacon instead. My friend got the ham and it looked really good. The sausage was a really small, dense patty that was really darkened. They looked like hockey pucks. The eggs were just eggs so I can't really complain about those! The side order of biscuits came with 2. By the time I finished most of my main meal, I could only eat a couple small bites of the buttered biscuit because I was so full! The sausage gravy was not much better. They both lacked flavor. The home fries were not very good. Parts were cold and had absolutely no seasoning (I would guess frozen and heated). It had two large pieces, came with ample fresh hash browns, two buttery biscuits, and two perfectly cooked fried eggs over medium. I asked for hot sauce and they had three options, including my favorite Cholula. My friend had a large western omelette which she said was the best she'd had - they do something with the way and time they add the cheese to melt it deliciously into the egg. It's served with toast or the super biscuits and hash browns. They were both around $9-10 range, I think, but I can't exactly remember. They have breakfast for smaller appetites too in the $5-6 range, and I think I saw a kids menu. Coffee was hot and kept coming. Best of all, service was excellent. We had a kind and interested waitress who spent a few minutes actually talking to us when we arrived, asked us about our day, and really was glad we were there from out of town. She had great suggestions on the menu. Everyone from the host to the busboy to the other waitresses made us comfortable and ensured we had all we needed while we stayed about an extra 45 minutes chatting. We were invited back for breakfast or dinner. We're from out of town and couldn't wait to tell our local pal here (she was sleeping in this morning and missed breakfast) about this restaurant. She's excited to come here too! When you enter, it looks like a small/medium diner to me. Wow!! Today was my first day eating at this restaurant. I heard some great thing about how the food taste so I decided to give it a try. Boy, was I blown away. The food was great, so tasty, big portions and mouth watering.. It was soooo delicious and homemade and I was not disappointed. The fact that it's homemade makes it awesome. I ordered the Yorkshire omelette....mmmm so good and then I had some chili. What can I say about the chili? It was savory, had the right amount of spices and the BEST chili I have ever had. I've always liked your car restaurant but since the virus I do not like to go there because I do not replace their condiments each time a new person sits at the table. If you were going to have your napkin holder, ketchup, salt and pepper on the table at all times I think they need to be wiped down after each patron leaves. I have been there three times since the virus has kicked up and each time I feel a little uncomfortable because of everything being on the table just like it always been. The last time I was in the salt shaker was sticky. I love the owners and I hope they do well in survive but they need to get with the program and wipe down the tables and everything else as it should be between patrons. Since March I have been to various restaurants and the ones that I see you doing everything right are the ones I go back to.
