When we walked in it seemed as if the host was confused on what tables were open and what was the order of people that came in to be seated But when we sat down we were promptly served and it was a busy Sunday afternoon and we still had great service after sitting down. The food was hot. I had country fried steak, it was OKAY, wasn't what I thought it would be. I could taste the breader in the fried steak and it wasn't a good taste. Real mushy. Love a nice country diner like me? Come here (just stay away on Sunday mornings because that's when my mom and I come and I don't want to wait longer for food lol!), this place is a gold mine in Manassas, the homemade biscuits and pancakes are to die for! The country gravy is tasty, but definitely could use some more sausage in it, and the home fries are really good too, but could also be a little more crispy, but for the most part, this is is a great place to eat! I just had their Yorkshire omelette last time and that was really good too (I took out the onions and added mushrooms and spinach)!!! The place is an old fashioned joint and has been here since I think the 80s! You seat yourself and they have a bunch of tables around their lobby or you can sit at one of the few countertop bar seats and chat with their extremely friendly and loving staff!! My new favorite restaurant. One of the guys from the local cigar shop told me about it so my son and I tried it out for lunch yesterday. He had the chicken noodle soup w/grilled cheese. I had the BBQ sub with fries. The pulled pork is homemade here and very good. Located in a very small shopping center, Yorkshire gives you that small town comfort feeling. Staff is very friendly, service is outstanding and the food is excellent. Large portions for a reasonable price. If I could, I'd give this place 3.5 stars. It's a little dirty and grimy, but the food is pretty good. Certain tables in the back aren't even on level ground, and it can feel pretty cramped even though they have a lot of space. It feels cramped though, because they have busy times, and their busy times are really busy (ie Saturday morning). They do a good job of fitting everyone in there, and everyone wants to come because of their prices. Food prices are low. You can get a lot of food for $12, and it's also pretty good. It's southern style, so it's one of the few breakfast resteraunts in the area that I've seen with biscuits and gravy. Their coffee game is pretty week. If you want good coffee, definitely look elsewhere. Ultimately I'll go back for their good prices, fast service, and overall good food. I'll definitely try to stay in the front of the resteraunts though as it's nicer and probably a bit cleaner. read more

This is to boast about their Grubhub delivery! I just finished an overnight shift that was much longer than originally anticipated. Decided I should treat myself to some yummy breakfast food before knocking out. I inhaled half of my hungry man + chocolate chip waffle before realizing I should've snapped a pic for a review but alas. Anyway, the restaurant isn't super close but the food arrived hot and delicious. The home fries weren't quite what I am used to but still enjoyed it all. Their coffee is STRONG. Nothing special, lunch and dinners are OK, but honestly the best game along our strip of 28. Wait staff and management is great. They're friendly, greet you when you walk in and ask how you're doing, quick n' efficient. Simple stuff, like checking back with you and your coffee cup won't be empty for long... you get exactly what you think you're going to get. And sometimes that's all you need. When you just don't want to cook and you're looking for some comfort food, getting dinner from here hits the spot. I really like their Salisbury steak. You know, when you want a Salisbury steak you want it to be hearty with a big helping of mashed potatoes next to it. And that's what you get. I like their green beans. Good stuff. Wanted a good home cooked meal (without being home lol) so I came to Yorkshire Restaurant. I am NOT disappointed. I was greeted upon entering and given the option to sit wherever. The waitress arrived promptly and took my drink order (coffee & water). I ordered the country fried steak breakfast and this thing WAS HUGE!!!!! It came with 2 biscuits, home fries, and eggs. Everything was to my satisfaction !!! I even had leftovers. My total was $13 which I think is more than reasonable for the amount of food on one plate. Okay, seriously... this place is THE Shiznits!!! My friend introduced me to this place back in April '07. He couldn't stop raving about the place so we finally went... and my, oh my... I regret not coming sooner. It's located in an old, small "strip mall", if I can even say that. Yorkshire is located right next to a hair salon and there is a bodega right next to it with some empty retail office towards the back. When I first walked in through those double doors, I thought... about walking right back out. The decor reminded me of an old, small Texas hole in the wall diner where no asian has stepped foot in... and if you have... then you immediately did an about-face and stepped right on out! Thank goodness I didn't!!! I would have missed out on the huge Country Fried Steak, juicy Country Fried Chicken, mountain of Homefries with sausage gravy, oh~ the SAUSAGE GRAVY!!, the grits with butter, the perfectly prepared corned beef hash, their fluffy French Toast drenched in butter and syrup... Oh, and you can't forget the wonderful service! You're treated like a regular from the time you walk in... the servers have small talk... sometimes sit with you in the booth as you talk about the weather... or exchange funny stories. Service is usually extremely quick and they are so attentive when it comes to refills. The price is perfectly reasonable, too! They have an item on the menu called the "Po' Boy Special" for like $2.99 or so. Tips for your next visit... Sit in the back of the restaurant. It's quieter and you really get the home country feel of the restaurant. Also, don't go toooo late for breakfast! I usually make it in by 1pm or so and I've only had the sausage gravy run out on me twice~ One of the times it was just super busy and the other... I went in like at 230pm. Old red necks with huge guts getting out of pick-up trucks wearing baseball caps with Confederate flag emblems on them. It's a small, road side old country diner and doesn't pretend to be anything else. Our neighbor told us that this place has the best breakfast in Manassas so one day when we didn't have anything to do we went there. We weren't disappointed. Precious loved the biscuits. The waffle was the best I'd ever had. You hardly needed any syrup. The omelette had just the right amount of cheese on it. I usually don't like country ham. It's too salty and dry, but that piece of ham I could eat another. Everything was good. The service was excellent. In fact, it was some of the best service I've ever had in any restaurant in the U.S. Beyond polite. If you doubt my words, then take a look at the place when you drive by. Every time I eat here I wish that I could just transplant the whole place closer to where I live. Any time I'm in town visiting and have a chance to come to Yorkshire you bet I'm taking it. Used to come here with a large group on people. I'm pretty sure we had such a good time that it drove other customers a little bonkers but oh well. Aside from only one time that I had the chili I usually stick with breakfast when I am here. The 2 egg breakfast is my go to. The only thing I wish is that I could get the cheese a little more mixed into my eggs. Otherwise I've never found anything wrong with the home cooked style meals here. They have a huge selection and the service has always been very attentive. However, the food is just average. Most of the reviews are wonderful, but for my taste its just ok. I went here with my boyfriend for breakfast. I had been wanting to try it since it is close to our house and has great reviews. I ordered the hotcakes with strawberries and whipped cream and he ordered the Yorkshire omelet. When my meal came out and I tasted the strawberries they tasted like alcohol. I was a bit shocked but didn't know what to think of it. I made the mistake of continuing to eat the food before I finally decided to say something to one of the servers. She went back to the kitchen and told me that she is pretty sure the strawberries are spoiled. After she told me she would be removing the meal from my check and would make me fresh pancakes. I took the fresh pancakes. When we went to pay the check it appeared that the owner was the one who handled the cash register. When I handed him the check he said "What was wrong with the strawberries and pancakes? You didn't like it?" I told him that the strawberries were spoiled. A server behind him stated that the strawberries were indeed spoiled. He said "So, you didn't want to order anything else?" I thought this was a shocking statement because I believe he was expressing his disappointment that the bill was only for one meal. I believe the waitresses handled the situation fine, but the owner was unprofessional. You should not be trying to make me feel guilty about not purchasing another meal at your restaurant when the first meal I was served was spoiled food. My boyfriend stated his meal was just ok and despite the strawberry situation he would not want to return anyway. He enjoyed the coffee.
