Satisfying meal at Yoshi Sushi in Los Altos! Their menu has a huge selection of nigiri's, sashimis, rolls, and hot food. We got the deluxe sashimi (20 pieces), salmon collar, uni nigiri, o-toro nigiri, and the salmon lover roll. I loved the o-toro nigiri which had a THICK cut of tuna and it was sooooo fatty. Surprisingly also really liked the salmon collar! I usually like raw fish more but this was perfectly grilled and tasted so tender/buttery. Also a huge portion for only $9!

We came around lunchtime. It was a little busy, but we were seated quickly. We appreciated that they played piano covers, so you can hear each other over the music much easier. You'll be seated, and order off of a QR code. We ordered the chawanmushi, lion king roll, rainbow roll, and 49ers roll. The chawanmushi came in a little hot stone cup. Absolutely delicious! The egg was very silky, the chicken, shrimp, and naruto added a nice contrast to the egg, and it was overall just flavorful enough without being overwhelming. Would definitely recommend grabbing one of these. The dragon roll was tasty, too. It was creamy, but a somewhat to a fault - it was a little on the mushier side, and thus would fall apart pretty easily when picked up. The rainbow roll and 49ers roll were decent. The raw fish quality is okay. We liked the lemon on the salmon.

It was my first time trying sushi, and it turned out to be an amazing experience! The server was super kind with helping me pick which types to try, and even helped me put different toppings on like ginger and wasabi. The restaurant had a nice calming feeling and the decoration was beautiful. I would totally come back!

Yoshi Sushi has several locations in the Bay Area which all of them are so consistent with quality and customer service! I have been to the San Jose one and now I have decided to try the one in Los Altos. Parking was very easy as they have a spacious parking lot in front of the restaurant! Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted by the host and directed the QR code for ordering. I love the QR code ordering system because it includes all the pictures of the items! There was so many options on the menu and it was hard to choose since everything looked so good! We ended up ordering 3 rolls, 1 dream box, and a smoking salmon sashimi which was perfect for 3 friends to share! My favorite was the giants roll and dream box! The slices of fish in the dream box were huge and it also came with some uni too! After eating the huge buttery slices in the dream box, I will be surely having dreams about sushi in my sleep! We Ordered: 1x Kamikaze Roll - so yummy, a little spicy 1x Smoking Salmon Sashimi- loved the smoke show, sashimi tasted smoky yummy 1x Giants Roll- as a salmon lover, i enjoyed this so much 1x Dinosaur Roll- reminds me of a dragon roll, but better 1x Dream Box- my most favorite, the slices of fish were huge and so buttery

I'm so happy I found this spot, definitely my new go-to sushi spot. I really enjoyed all of their apps and roll. I think my absolute favorites were their lion king roll and the mango vegetarian roll. I would also highly recommend the spicy edamame!

06/16/2025 Repeated for lunch, they have great value lunch plates that come with California roll slices and pork Gyoza. Request white rice if you don't like brown. My Saba was great and Wifey liked her Beef Teriyaki. Check my prior review for more detail.

We love Yoshi Sushi! Definitely recommend any of their teriyaki, the beef and salmon are great, as is the sushi and sashimi salad. We love dining outdoors here and also picking up dinner after enjoying music at First Fridays Los Altos. Dining in, the outdoor dining is clean and well lit and they are very dog friendly, even bringing out each of our dogs their own water bowl. If you dine in, you could also be pleasantly surprised as they have weekday specials on discounted food and drink too.

Solid sushi spot in Los Altos - Good for Delivery or Dining In. I've ordered from here several times on Uber Eats and finally dined in for the 2nd time yesterday. My go to is the Mango Crunch Roll, which I usually get. Pieces are big and tasty, I'd give it an 8/10. The Lion King Roll is also always a good choice, can never go wrong with that. I've also had nigiri for delivery, and it's always fresh. This time, we tried the Tai Carpaccio, and it was really good! The fish was soft and tender, so I'd rate it an 8/10. The Dinosaur Roll is good too 9/10, it comes with soft shell crab, avocado, cucumber and some spicy mayo sauce. I also got the Sushi Regular, which comes with 8 pieces of assorted nigiri, California roll and Miso soup. It was fine, but I'm not a huge fan of albacore or shrimp (I prefer Amaebi), tho it wasn't bad. My boyfriend picked the Kurodai, Salmon Belly, and Scallop nigiri, which were all great choices. The chicken skewers were surprisingly good too, not dry at all. Overall, this is a great spot for decent, inexpensive sushi whether you're dining in or getting it delivered.

I really like this place. They have delicious and quality sushi. We had ninja roll and crunchy california roll. It was very good as always. We also like their fried ice cream. Something worth trying. Indoor dining and 3 tables available outside. Plenty of parking available.

This was so goooood This is what we ordered: Caterpillar roll $16.99 Dragon roll $16.99 Hotel California roll $16.99 Rainbow roll $16.99 Fried oyster $12.99 Soft shell crab $11.99 Tai Carpaccio $20.99 Sashimi special $29.99 Fried ice cream $7.99 My favorite dish is the Hotel California roll and their sashimi special! The roll had a lemony flavor in every bite which made the roll taste so fresh & refreshing. This was something new to my family & I and we ate this roll so fast haha. The sashimi, my oh my, each slice was thiccc. The salmon was creamy & soft, the tuna had a bite to it & the slice was so bigg, and the hamachi had a bouncy texture. There was albacore too but I didn't get a slice of it. They had brown rice tea, my family & I lovedddd this. We drank so much of their tea Service was fast & great. The staff was very nice and helpful :)

Food: 4/5 - Sashimi special: 3/5, fresh and thick cuts but high price point - Unagi don & chirashi don: 4/5 - Angry dragon roll: 5/5 - Fried dragon ball: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Party of 3 came on a weekday dinner and there was no wait! Atmosphere was nice, had cute decorations inside & has an outdoor patio area. Food and sashimi quality is comparable to other sushi spots, but is a bit more pricey from what I remember (Sashimi Special with 10pc sashimi is $30). We really liked the rolls and unagi don on the other hand, the exotic rolls have unique selections with reasonable price (~$17). Service was great, the servers were friendly and welcoming.

A hidden gem in Los Altos for quality sushi and comforting Japanese dishes! We stopped by Yoshi Sushi and were seriously impressed with both the quality and variety. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful Here's what we tried: Sashimi Special - So fresh! Generous cuts of tuna, salmon, yellowtail and more. Melt-in-your-mouth good. Chirashi Don - A great variety of sashimi over perfectly seasoned rice. Super satisfying and well balanced. Unagi Don - Comforting and rich, with warm eel glazed in sweet-savory sauce over rice. A must for unagi lovers. Angry Dragon Roll - A spicy, crunchy roll with a kick! Fried Dragon Ball - Deep-fried sushi goodness. Crispy outside, creamy and savory inside! Service was quick and friendly, and everything came out at the perfect pace. You can tell they really care about quality here

So a few days after returning from an overseas trip, I made a lunch reservation with a friend. Apparently, reservations are required if you want a proper meal experience. At $35 per person for lunch, including tip but excluding drinks and additions, it still seemed like good value. Finding parking during lunch time in downtown Los Altos was surprisingly difficult. There were no spots available on the Main Street, so I had to park in the lot behind the buildings. As I walked inside, I admired the high ceilings, curved alcoves and glass-enclosed dining room by the entrance. The entire space seemed to be illuminated by a central skylight. Aaron is a co-owner of Tal Palo along with his partner, Chef Adriana. He greeted and complimented me on my Mikkeller Taipei t-shirt. Aaron told us he was once the co-owner of an Oakland bar specializing in Belgian ale called The Trappist and subsequently knew Mikkel's brother, Jeppe, who founded Evil Twin Brewery quite well. It was cool to meet a fellow artist and Renaissance man. Fittingly, the beautiful space was largely designed by Aaron. We had our choice of seating. It didn't seem as if there were any two tables and chairs that were alike. Each part of the dining room was unique. There's a really nice patio in the back with a cool huge mural on the wall that is undoubtedly popular during warmer months. We chose a nice broad two top table near the entrance, lit brightly by the skylight above it. Chef Adriana introduced herself and brought by what was essentially an elote muffin, and offered it as an optional appetizer. We took her up on it. It was delicious and buttery with the texture of corn kernels, not simply pureed into a batter. I also ordered a Cafe de Olla, which was pleasantly sweet and blended with cinnamon and spices. She then brought a plate with skillfully prepared green salad. It was then clear that each dish was meant to be shared family-style. The portion-size of each dish is about the size of an individual portion, but there were three dishes included in the lunch course. I could see how this might be an issue for those who eat larger portions, leaving them unsatisfied. Me and my friend don't generally eat a ton, so this was perfectly fine for us. Next up was the highlight of the meal, Chilaquiles Verde. The egg was perfectly fried atop tortilla chips that still had a bit of crispness to them. The tomatillo salsa was a perfect balance of flavor, tanginess, spice and temperature. It was a superb dish that outpaces any chilaquiles that I've been able to find locally, and I've certainly been trying out many for the past six months in search of the best one. I think Chef Adriana's version at Tal Palo may be the winner. There was one more interesting dish remaining: fried quesadillas served with a creamy red beet mole sauce. The quesadillas were light and fluffy, made from masa rather than flour. The beet mole sauce had pine nuts and sesame seeds and several other ingredients blended into it. Very unique and creative rendition unlike any mole I had ever tried. The overall experience at Tal Palo was very unique. There is no set menu, and you are served whatever Chef Adriana has prepared that day. So one needs to approach this restaurant with an open mind and leave preconceptions at the door. As I mentioned earlier, the shared portions might not be enough for people with a higher caloric intake. If these are showstoppers, this is probably not the right place for you. I personally really enjoyed the concept and experience. I look forward to trying their dinner course and going to their workshops for things like making tamales.

I don't know what the red spice was, but the flavor was perfect, the salmon was moist and tender. The cucumbers were just the right amount of crunch, though the tomatoes were a little overripe for me. My husband enjoyed it all though. The portions were perfect for splitting between the 2 of us. I paired this with the fresh brewed iced tea and it was perfect. This isn't a ritzy place, it's a nice drop in for casual food and chat.
