The korokke had a nice buttery fluffy potato inside with a light non greasy fry. The karaage flavor was decent but the outside had a what seemed like a light batter prior to the fry which is not traditional for karaage. Both the korokke also had a spicy mayo sauce. To start, the toppings in the ramen were good. The chashu was the star, nice and tender and flavorful. However, to me the most important part is the broth. All 3 ramens had flavor but was lacking the proper depth of flavor. In addition, there was a lot of sitting fat in the broth. Overall the broth was missing that umami you want from ramen. Saturday 3:00pm Party of 6 Restaurant does not take reservations but we called and let Christine know we were on our way and she was cleaning off and moving two tables together for us when we arrived. She let us know they were short staffed and she we would be back soon. Christine was hustling! She gave us menus and when she came back to our table we gave her our drink and food orders, to include a couple of appetizers: edamame and gyoza. We actually got the gyoza FREE for checking in on YELP! Yay~ Some people ordered rolls and others ordered Ramen bowls, all were delicious! Our food came out hot and quickly too. Being that I just got back from a trip to Japan I'm still trying to recalibrate my taste buds to US standards. Which totally sucks cuz everytime I visit another country and enjoy their amazing cuisine amazing the meals in the US tend to miss the mark. With those reviews, I was expecting it to be popular therefore busy, so I called and they said no wait. Upon arrival it was empty at 7pm. I almost did an aboutface but out of laziness and shear hunger I made my way inside. My group ordered (St. Louis Pork Rib Spicy Miso and Tonkotsu Spicy Black with chashu pork) pan fried gyoza, chicken karaage, a crunch roll, and a strawberry icecream for dessert. I honestly think I should've given Japanese cuisine a couple more months before attempting it again here in the US. I thought the ramen broth lacked depth I loved the meatiness that the pork rib brought but it was well seasoned, enough to stand alone. The egg was cooked perfect. The black Tonkatsu had more flavor than the spicy miso. Noodles were good. Crunch roll was nice and better than I expected the pan fried gyoza was good. Overall the food passed the Japanese vibe test, but due to my taste buds still spoiled from the Tokyo Osaka and Kyoto meals I have to give this place a solid 3-3.5. The flavor of the ramen broth is only comes from a heavy amount of black garlic oil. So as long as you enjoy garlic, I guess you'll give it 5 stars. That's all it seemed to take to wow the other reviews. The spicy ramen misses the mark and is not flavorful but only spicy. Spicy is not a flavor, especially when it just masks the taste of every ingredient. The chashu was honestly forgettable. The service was fine, but rather inattentive staff for the small inside seating of the restaurant. If you're really desperate for ramen this is an option, but there's definitely better places to pick, especially in OC. read more

Takoyaki was pretty good, but there was a lot of dough for the amount of octopus compared with other places. The ramen was so good. I'm normally pretty weary about drinking ramen broth because I often get headaches later, but not with Yoshiharu! I slurped up all of the broth and no headache, which was great. The noodles had a good bouncy texture, and the flavor of the broth was deep and rich. I loved all of the toppings - textures were varied and everything just worked. I also appreciated how they serve the ramen with a....ladle, I think? I haven't seen that around here before. I'd put Yoshiharu on par with Hironori, which is great! In my opinion, both are above Santouka (wonderful flavors, but headache-inducing) and Shin-Sen-Gumi (weird texture noodles, light broth). I ended up grabbing them from another table myself. While we were eating, two other groups came in and experienced similar issues. One guest had to walk to the kitchen to get a drink refill. Another group was told multiple items they ordered were unavailable, which was clearly frustrating for them. This is a sit-down, table-service restaurant, not counter service, yet customers were repeatedly forced to get up and manage basic things on their own. Nothing special at all. ---Lobster ramen is a joke: the broth isn't bad, but it's so packed with MSG that your tongue goes numb. There are 2 stale mussels that look like German cockroaches and 3 tiny sliced squid. The noodles are super thin.
