I rarely review fast food establishments unless they are superior or a total failure. This Yoshinoya is pretty darn good. I initially stopped to get some steamed dumplings but come to find they are pan or wok fried, which is A-OK. no complaints.. Then I noted a side of beef on the menu board so took the chance .. It was absolutely delicious. What I received was a steaming bowl of very thin and tender sliced beef. Im so impressed with the flavor, the amount of serving and how tender it was they now have a new regular customer. Someone else complained about the meat in a previous review but I thought it was really good. They even included with the beef some asian seasoned au jus which was delicious! . If you prefer your meat sliced ultra thin, I think you will like it. Next time I'll ask for more au jus! read more

I know it's a bit late, but the drive thru takes a long time. I only mind it a bit because the quality is always good here. The food always tastes fresh. The clam chowder is amazing, totally love it. The beef bowls are good and not fattening.i would have preferred if they stayed with the old recipe of the chicken bowls. I believed that it was way better. The food is good, but the service is VERY slow. The cashier kept leaving the register to go to the back room, to switch registers, etc. As a walk-in, waiting in line is exhausting. If this is the way it is going to be, I don't think I can come here any more. read more

You get stars for having drive thru. Food is mediocre. It's like panda express but weaker. I don't ever eat at any Japanese fast food. I've seen yoshinoya everywhere but when it comes to Japanese, I only eat sushi or ramen. But lately I'd been eating Hawaiian pokè. I came here and thru drive thru so I didn't have to be inside looking foolish trying to figure out how to order. It's basically like panda. Rice and two main meals. I got the meatballs and some chicken. They both tasted funky. It's Japanese junk food. I don't see myself coming back. I can make a better basic meal. Thanks for the drive thru tho. Been a Yoshinoya fan since 1990 (can't believe it's been that long!) Had to go to downtown LA off Vermont to get this, then when they opened one up near where we lived in Cerritos...it was on! Me and my brothers would eat this weekly! I still go there and now I go with my wife and 2 little ones when we get too lazy to cook. My parents, brothers and I hoard those coupons we get in the mail(thanks Yoshinoya!). Pretty much get the same thing...combo bowl with chicken and beef. I appreciate them trying to offer new items, the shrimp, chicken wings etc. As for this location, been to the drive through probably 7-8 times and the food is always good, wish the portions of meat were a little better(more!) and service was pretty fast and always friendly. But I'm doing this review because the dude behind the counter today, youngish Filipino guy was really cool. Friendly and all that good stuff but when he called my name when food was ready he told me he threw in a choc chip cookie for my 4 year old who was running around the restaurant, not too annoyingly but just enough to burn the sugar he had previously got from our short drive there. So my son was really happy to see that 1 little cookie waiting for him when he finished his food of course! I mean it was nothing spectacular what he did but it does mean a lot, especially these days when customer service isn't what it used to be. So we def appreciated that. As for the restaurant, it was surprisingly really clean and seemed pretty up to date compared to the other Yoshinoyas I've been to. Definitely will come back...with a coupon of course! read more

Yoshinoya is my favorite restraunt of all times. But this location makes you wanna never come here, the drive-thru service is trash, every time I come here, I'm at least spending 20-30 min to get some food. Was waiting for someone to take my order. One lady took two the order of two people in front of me. Then she left on break or something and she told me someone will come and take your order. And then the lady working on drive thru didn't have a car. She came to the front picked up a bag and took it to the back. And then after about five minutes waiting for someone to help me she took my order. Bad customer service. read more

I came here at 12am on 9/08, the sign said clear as daylight "OPEN!" I go through the drive thru, and I hear the announcement "Would you like to try some of our ribs today?" I keep waiting and waiting for a real person to come on, and I wait for about 15 minutes, only to find out they were closed after looking here on yelp! Mediocre food with a side of really poor service does not make for a return visit.

If you want to be yelled at by the cashier because she can't hear you then come on down and order! Perhaps they should turn down the music they have playing or figure out a way to isolate the sounds coming from the kitchen. She asks me to repeat myself which I do and she still can't hear so I speak louder and she clearly takes offense and gives me a bit of attitude and continues to say, "I can't hear you, that's why". No shit you can't hear me. The approach was rude then at the end of it all, hands me a receipt and says nothing. I get my food and she fucked my order up. I told her original combo bowl with chicken and beef. She gives me chicken only. I bring it back and another staff member was nice enough to give me a side of beef on the house but I say thanks and he just turns his back as if I was an inconvenience. Maybe he can't hear me either which blows me away because i naturally speak loud. They obviously need to turn down this ridiculous music they play so they can hear people placing the order and not screw it up! I would find another Yoshinoya. Advice to employees: if you don't like the fast paced environment you signed up for and servicing customers the right way, you don't belong in the restaurant business. read more

The customer service sucks especially when certain people are working . The food keeps getting less and less but they charge you for any little extra thing . Yoshinoya's combo bowl is always going to be awesome. What I like about Yoshinoya is the coupon that they send out. They have the best coupon deal (like buy one get one 50% off or buy one get one free, etc). I've been here a couple of times and I have not experience any attitude from the staff or anything like that. read more

Know everything is so expensive, i went there the other day and asked for extra beef it was like 3.99 extra when i open my plate seem like they just gave me a regular plate i was upset. Terrible, Terrible Terrible. The food was mediocre, and the service was absolutely awful. Perhaps I expect too much being from Texas...you know like people being friendly, wanting to do their job well, etc. I waited in the drive thru line for 20 minutes....and I am not exaggerating, 20 minutes with only 2 cars ahead of me. I get to the drive thru window and the drive thru attendant doesn't even apologize for the wait, doesn't give me anything for free, doesn't offer a voucher....nothing. 20 minutes in a fast food drive thru is straight up stupid. The only reason I didn't leave is because I was trapped by the car behind me. The drive thru attendant barely looked at me, charged me full price and moved on to the next dummy who waited in line like me. If I could give zero stars I would do it. It took me a couple of minutes to get an order from anybody here this afternoon. IReason? There were only two workers attending to customers. I felt so frustrated that despite her eagerness to get orders as prompt as she could, the cashier was overwhelmed with orders because she had to also attend to the drive-through customers. Now, I suggested that the management had to introduce some innovations like putting just numbers on its order board. In this way, it would be much easier for customer to order any food item as fast as he could. This would be my very first time at a Yoshinoya, I had a taste for a chicken bowl; I always judge it's place by it's rice if the rice is not good I would not be coming back; Well the rice was well cooked; but it had a funny chemical taste to it, so that tells me not to come back. The chicken had skin still attached to it ~yuck~, and I was charged 65 cents for a small cup of teriyaki sauce which turned out to be very salty, I'm not too wild about salty sauce. Also while I was eating there I saw a guy just walk in and dig thru the trash and he came up with a clear plastic cup, well this guy took the cup and went straight to the soda machine and pour himself some soda;( which on the soda machine clearly stateS CLEAR CUPS are for "WATER ONLY") he then went to the register and talk to the cashier "BETTY" and she gave him a free coke cup. where he then threw away the clear cup and took some soda and left. Then another customer came in asked for a clear cup for water and ordered his meal; with his clear cup he took soda. So apparently if you order for a clear cup you get free soda. Try it I bet you they won't say anything. and after seeing a guy take a cup from the trash and use it on the soda machine.
