My family and I love Yoshinoya so, we drive all the way to Carson because the Long Beach one is disgusting and always smells like urine inside. Our favorite is the beef bowl with the crushed red pepper and red ginger. They honestly can do better with their drink selection. Though, they did up their game when they started offering tiny cheesecakes from Junior's in New York City. We also had really wonderful service from the man who helped us. Shout out to Jasmine!!! Yoshinoya app's reward wasn't working, the glitchy thing, so I had to go in to use it. (Yes, I'm one of those who like to use my rewards and coupons!) But the QR code/scan via the app wasn't pulling through on their POS system, and the staff had to call for "Jas~", and she had to come over several times to unlock something, which still didn't work. After trying many times, she found a way to total my order out as the same as if the rewards went through. This took some time and I was worried I'd have to wait another while, since my previous order was already done and waiting. You know when you got a hungry family waiting, and don't want to bring back cold food... thankfully the first staff had gotten my order ready at the same time so I can be on my way. We order regularly here, basically a staple for us when we have no dinner ready, and food is usually great. The service is always prompt, and I like how the staff works diligently, without the chit chat/talking over my food like I see in some restaurants. We've probably eaten here 100 times, and today's quick thinking on Jasmine's part deserved a 5 stars. P.s. on the other hand, if any CORPORATE Yoshinoya people read these, some improvements needed! Oh boy, where to begin with this one? Let me preface by saying that I love Yoshinoya. Both here and in Japan, I have always found the quality to be really solid. So I was super disappointed when my wife and I ordered some for delivery during a recent trip to Long Beach, and what we got was not only not what we ordered, but a far cry from what I remember Yoshinoya being. I have worked in many restaurants in my life. I have been a server, a food runner, a delivery driver, I have washed dishes. Mistakes happen. I get that. But there were a lot of mistakes with our order. We wanted two of the combo plates with double gyudon and rice with vegetables. We got two combo plates with half gyudon, half... some sort of kind of BBQ chicken? I am not entirely sure, because in all of my times visiting Yoshinoya I have never ordered chicken here. Didn't even know they had it. We also received no vegetables (I don't mind so much, but my wife did), and the wrong sauce for our Tokyo fried chicken. Huge bummers all around. The Tokyo fried chicken was super tasty. No complaints on that one. But the chicken that came on the combo plate was cold, and honestly pretty bland. Saucy, to their credit, but overall pretty unsatisfying. The beef had the opposite problem, it was almost completely dry. I don't expect a ton of sauce on gyudon, but it was almost like there was none at all. And again, pretty cold. Could be because we got delivery, but our driver got the food to us really quickly, so I have a hard time believing that it sat around in their car for a long time. What a genuine shame. I have never had a bad experience at Yoshinoya until now. I really wanted to give this more stars, and we wanted to order it again before we left. But this experience was so bad we decided to just go elsewhere during the week we were in town. I will never turn my back on this company as a whole. But I don't think we would risk it at this location again. Just too many cons to take the risk. I would recommend CoCo if you're jonesing for a Japanese food chain in the area. And who knows, maybe one day we will get a Saizeriya, or a Mos Burger! But this one gets a 'woof' from me. read more

I've been going to this Yoshinoya location for years and have never had an issue. They've always been amazing but in the last few months I've had horrible experiences. I recently ordered a clam chowder and as I'm more than halfway done with the bowl, I choke on something. Come to find out, it was a crab shell. I have no idea how it got in there. I decided to call Yoshinoya and just let them know what happened and ask if they serve anything with crab, which they don't. Just today, I ordered an original beef bowl. Right as I open my bowl, there is a big solid piece of meat that looks bright pink. Not the color of undercooked meat but almost like a dye. As I'm pulling apart the piece of meat I find that it's blue on the inside! I'm so disappointed and I hope that they put more focus into the quality and safety of their food. read more
