During our recent visit, the electronic menu board via the drive was out of order, though the PA system was functioning properly. We frequent coming every few months because the app deals are very good and hugely affordable. The service and experience here are mostly positive for us the times we come in. We've ordered via the app and this location gets our orders done correctly. We also use the drive thru from time to time. The staff works efficiently and the drive thru moves quick. Came in for their bowl special, not bad price point, large combo bowl and a drink for $10.99. They also had a teriyaki chicken bowl, egg roll and drink for $7.99. Food was fresh, warm and plenty for the price. I enjoy their regular beef and the onions make it extra tasty. I am not a fan of Pepsi products so I went with the lemonade, it was good. Service was decent, cashiers seemed to be a little distracted and not very communicative. They actually seem a little bit rushed. It's important to slow down and give the best customer service you can. Ambience is your usual fast food type restaurant. Plenty of seating indoors. Drive-through is a little awkward getting in and out. I did notice that there was a tight turn, and it looked like folks hit block the wall, be careful! Been before for my 3rd visit- today ( updating info per owners request) March 30th 2025 around 7pm. We order the promotions of two salmon bowls and a mango tea. . Food was great. Cashier with color eyes perfect service. Yet, I didn't pay to hear the African American aking like a "teenager" yellinng ", stupid " " weird, " and "girls" to their 4 male workers working the line. Aa she saud they had " 4 cars in the driver thru. I guess we needed to hear her issues. He even made a great recommendation--the shrimp tempura--which I ended up choosing. His friendly and helpful attitude made my experience much smoother and more enjoyable. Just want to apologize for this 1 star at this location. Love the color scheme and interiors that seemed to be Yoshinoya's new look. We had to get lunch on the way to Los Angeles Airport so we stopped here. When we entered ... there were 2 gentlemen standing away from the counter and had asked them if they were in line ... they replied "no" , I forwarded then to the register counter and no one acknowledged my presence. I saw how busy they were cramming and looks like fussing over behind orders . It was already at this point 10 minutes then I had asked one staff " any order takers available ?" Then was rudely answered " wait" At this point I saw the behind me with 7 customers lined up ... Few more minutes the order taker didn't apoligize for the wait whatsoever. I was standing behind the first register and she stood behind the other register farther from where I was waiting , didn't say anything with a very stern disgusted facial expression. I just started ordering for me and my family. Food quality at this location seemed not the same as I remember of Yoshinoya !!!! The food pictures on the menu board are definitely not the same portion as showed compared to the actual serving!!! So the COMBO XL looks like the regular combo. I'm sorry to say that I had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit. I ordered three combo meals and one boba drink at the drive-thru. When I arrived at the window, William assisted me and completed my payment. When he returned with my order, he handed me two drinks--one being the boba I ordered and another drink that I did not order. I immediately let him know there had been a mistake and apologized while returning the extra drink. In response, William said, "Oh well, you gave me back the drink because you obviously don't want a free drink." I found that comment to be sarcastic and unprofessional. I was simply trying to be honest and return an item that I did not pay for, which I believed your staff would appreciate. In addition to that interaction, the quality of the food was very disappointing. The meals were cold, the egg rolls were stale, and the rice was watery with cold beef. Overall, both the customer service and the food quality fell far below expectations. So....it was good because it was what me and my family were craving. This location has been here awhile. Whereas we would normally drive thru, we dined indoors for a change and it was what one would expect for fast-not-authentic-Japanese-food. The rice was hot, the "meat" was flavored with soy and well-seasoned, the veggies were steamed. I will say this: there is a ton more choices on their menu than when I was a kid. Back in the day it was beef or chicken / veggies, no veggies. Now there's udon, spicy chicken / beef, Hanabi, etc. Did we chuckle at the stringy-unidentifiable-ness of the meat? Yes! Did we still eat it? Yes. Did we enjoy the experience for what it was? Yes! Would we come back? Yes, if we are craving the Yoshinoya experience. Kept telling us see you at the window when we didn't even finish our order. The bowls were snack size for the price we payed. And got about 4 pieces of chicken each with sauce only on the chicken. About the size of 1/4 of a chicken breast. We got a rice as a base for one, which was so dry and soo much veggie we basically got a veggie bowl. We got udon as a base for the other, they were so dry and under cooked and had no sauce. Even our toddler knew something was wrong with the noodles. I can't believe they have such a low rating! My experience was good here, I'm not sure why they are rated so low? I remember having Yoshinoya in the early 80s, back then it was simply called "beef bowl"! We loved it! Yesterday while visiting my mom in Covina, I had a craving for it so we decided to go have lunch at Yoshinoya since she had some coupons with her. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. Initially I felt that the female employee who waited on us was a little bit rude and acted as if she wished she was anywhere else but work. But, as we dined indoors, she was friendly with us and went above and beyond to help us so I think it was just a misunderstanding with her. Maybe some of the customers were probably rude to her and she was a little frustrated? Working in fast food isn't fun so I can understand a little. The food itself was delicious, the tables were nice and clean and while we were eating, the staff was busy cleaning and making sure everything was ok. Since I personally had not had yoshinoya in many years, the food was amazing and we had a great time. Yoshinoya has come a long way since my days In the early 80s. There are new menu items and side dishes that were unavailable back then. They now serve clam chowder and added shrimp and a few different side dishes, even deserts and sweets. I stuck to the basic of a chicken and beef combo, absolutely perfect! So all in all this was a great experience, I know my mother and grand mother love coming to this location. The only reason I rated 4 stars is because our food was given to us in take out plates, we specifically said we were eating inside, im not sure if because of this awful pandemic that they are serving everything in take out plates. However, our food was also given to us in bags so I don't think the cashier understood we were dining in. A little bit more training for this employee will make a difference. No big deal though. We went up to ask, and then realized our food were already on the counter the whole time but obviously he didn't pack them. We waited for 20 minutes and I expressed that the delay is a bit ridiculous when he even recognize other customers by name, but don't even bother to pack our food.
