He also noted that the staff member appeared frustrated or disengaged during the interaction. I feel it's worth noting that positive customer interactions are vital to maintaining customer trust and continued support. Small instances of unsatisfactory service can unfortunately leave a lasting impression. This was the first time I had a negative experience. I hope the employee reads this and changes her attitude. I all decided to have Lunch on Monday for a Regular Beef Bowl. The plaquered sign stated $7.39. However my receipt stated $8.64 and the total was $9.46. I questioned the cashier and she stated, "it's your tax". I questioned her once again, she stated, " you pay extra for beef". My complaint is price inflation and Price Gouging. I'm originally from Northern California and I don't believe we have this chain of Japanese restaurants available. It seems a lot like similar to something like panda express but it's more focused on Japanese flavors. The reason I was cited to eat here was because they were advertising orange chicken, but unfortunately he did not live up to panda express standards. But the beef original flavor was really delicious. I would definitely come back here to try the teriyaki chicken and also get the beef original flavor again. read more

Yoshinoya is hands-down one of my favorite Semi-fast food establishments. I have probably eaten at 20+ individual locations. This location by far is the worst. My standard order, everywhere, is a "large beef bowl, double meat, no vegetable". Not only did I have to repeat my order three times, only to be told they call that a "combo with two portions of meat" here, they added vegetables anyway until I caught her and said don't add the vegetables. (Sorry for the run-on sentence) However, when I got my order, it was a Standard Large Beef Bowl with the Standard Single portion of Beef, even though I paid more for the combo. I asked her to verify that this was what she meant to give me, and she said "oh yes because we actually measure our portions here". Suffice it to say I did not appreciate the sarcasm. I also find this a very weak explanation as at the 20+ other locations, where I ordered the exact same thing, a double (not extra) portion of meat, I get a double portion. In any case, not wanting to deal with it and not wishing to go anyplace else I spent an extra $6 to get a side of beef to bring it up to the Double that I should've gotten in the first place (as I paid for it upfront). Bottom line, I will not be returning to this location. This is obviously not the fault of the Frontline staff, their sarcasm aside... However the fault of the owner and or the general manager who is decided to cheat the customers you come into this location by giving them substandard portions as compared to the vast majority of other Yoshinoya locations. read more

Honestly the food is always very delicious! I've noticed some of the other reviews and their complaints however I've never had any issues with the food being cold or my order taking too long, in fact it's always warm and ready to eat even when I take it to go. Let me start by saying that I have been a yoshinoya customer for over 20 years, and today I received the worst service ever from the Lancaster location by VERONICA. I spent purchased 6 plates of food costing me nearly $60. I handed this girl my debit card and instead of her handing it back to me she slid it to me along with a pin and receipts to sign. Unfortunately I wasn't able to reach the counter to pick up my card nor the items she was shoving towards me. I asked her if she had a problem handing people things and she asked me "what does that mean" , clearly she can't comprehend. When I told her to hand me my debit card back to my hand her attitude grew nastier, the pen she provided didn't work and she pushed a permanent marker towards me and by this time I just want a refund. I asked her for her name and she says "why" I asked her again and she again said "why" so then I asked where her name tag was and she finally told me her name, VERONICA. I asked for the manager and she quickly tried to tell him what happened, but at this time I'm upset and told her that if she wanted to tell her manager what was going on then she should have called for him, being that I'm the customer being mistreated I'll let him know what's going on. The other employees apologized for her, but I will never eat at any Yoshinoya again. I will not patronize a company that employs people that have horrible customer service. The sweet chilli shrimp was mushy and disgusting. Everything else was okay, but due to the experience I encountered this company gets a 1 star , I wish I could give it ZERO. Today I had a coupon for two combination bowls for $11.00. My cashier said that I had to pay $1.50 extra if I wanted "beef" as depicted on the coupon. I paid the extra for one bowl with beef, and ordered the other with orange and teriyaki chicken. When I opened them at home, both had orange and teriyaki chicken. There wasn't any beef which I paid addition for. I'm disappointed that the coupon didn't state that an additional $1.50 was required to get the beef as portrayed on the coupon, but above all, I was disappointed when I didn't get what I paid for. She is always exceedingly friendly, welcoming, and productive in getting my food out super fast. Every time i've come in while she's here, i leave with the biggest smile on my face. I have very fond memories of Yoshinoya from when I lived in Japan. This ubiquitous little fast food joint, is equally popular with "salarymen" and college kids alike. It is a standard fare of Japanese style donburi bowls consisting of your choice of chicken terriyaki, beef terryiaki, or steamed vegetables over a bed of Japanese sticky rice. Yoshinoya is the largest chain of beef bowl (or gydon) restaurants and one of the Japanese chains of fast food, which was established in Japan in 1899. Its motto is "Tasty, low-priced, and quick". The founder of the company, Eikichi Matsuda, was from the former town of Yoshino in Osaka Prefecture, and there is a predominant belief that it is the origin of the name, and the letter (ya) means "house." The letter (yoshi) means "good fortune" and (no) means "field." You can also order yaki-udon noodles if you're not feeling like a rice bowl. They also have the standard side dishes of miso soup, Gyoza, and several other Japanese goodies. I find the new Lancaster location to be quite adequate. Far exceeded my expectations of what the level of quality way out in here in this neck of the woods.
