I was concerned about this place after seeing the Yelp reviews, but my son insisted that we should try it. And I'm glad he did because the food is yummy. Well, it truly does not compare to the food in Japan, but I don't think it's fair to ask that of any fast food spot. The Gyudon Beef is delicious and the Teriyaki chicken is pretty good too. The portions of each are not a lot in the Combo, but I was still very full after eating it all. I'm a rice snob, and the rice is good here. Service was excellent. Ambiance is lacking, but also not fair to expect that here. I like this place and will be coming back. read more

Terrible slow service- with little acknowledgment , almost 35+ minutes to get an order taken with no cars in drive through. Not the first time I've had this issue with service - or wrong food issues here, but the frequency is increasing. Unfortunate this is the situation for a place I usually like going to. I've always ordered for others so my review isn't based off the quality of the food. I remember when they first opened their drive thru line was sooo long and remember waiting for 45 minutes. It has died down a lot and doesn't seem to be getting much business that I've seen nowadays due to the competition of other fast food joints in the area. I did a curbside pick up last week. Horrible service from dark-skinned girl with glasses in front. (updated: girl's name is Cynthia).Used a 2 for $12 large bowl coupon. Knowing that the ribeye was extra, she said i couldn't get it as a protein, even though I was willing to pay the extra. I also wanted to change the side out for the udon noodles, but she also said she couldn't. More like she was just lazy enough to change the order. Especially from someone who works in food service, it isn't hard to charge for a side. Even gave a bad attitude when I asked. Even worse, if was just us in the restaurant too, was not busy at all. To the incompetent worker, if you're reading this, I hope you get fired from here and never work in food service again. Clearly does not know how to take a food order or how to talk to customers. When food came, it was completely wrong too. No vegetables on a plate that we asked for none, cold food, etc. I never leave reviews on restaurants, but this experience was horrendous, since I grew up on Yoshinoya. Thanks for nothing. read more

Good food, prices are a little high but alright. I wish they still sent out the paper coupons they used to. The digital ones suck. I don't personally like the teriyaki chicken as much as the beef, which is my favorite. The rib eye is the best. I hope they bring back some of the side options they used to have like the coleslaw and potatoes. read more

Tokyo fried chicken at the Sweetwater Yoshinoya. We came home and we are so disappointed with the Tokyo chicken. I don't know who would approved a burnt chicken as a meal. Only came here because Panda Express was packed and a line out the door. It was freezing cold. My son wanted orange chicken so we came here. My husband ordered the Gyoza and apparently whoever cooked them cant see and can't smell. My daughter complained about her large bowl with her large chicken nuggets with sauce. This new Yoshinoya place is very small and has a drive thru the wraps around it. Service is Much much slower than other Yoshinoya restaurants. Service is very stagnant for each order ; almost comatose like speed. Each car's order takes about 5-7 minutes to complete so your car moves one spot up each 5-7 minutes. I timed it. When there are 8 cars in line, that's 40-55 minutes in a drive thru. It's unacceptable wait times. How hard can it be to make a chicken teriyaki bowl. Much More training is needed before they opened this place. Many people wait in the drive thru line and simply turn around n leave after waiting 10 minutes with no movement. It'll be a long while before I return to waste almost an hour for a teriyaki bowl. read more

I used to LOVE Yoshinoya. This location is NOT it. The customer service is average- but the food? We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and the Original Beef. Not only did they get our order wrong, but we overheard them say that they mixed up another order at the drive through. The worst part? The chicken wasn't cooked through and the beef barely was so we needed up having to go somewhere else for lunch. Completely disappointed. read more

First time trying Yoshinoya and I had the displeasure of interacting with Irvine E.. He appears to be the manager of the location and pretended to either not hear me or speak much English when I told him how terrible the drink was. He preceded to smirk and say no refund would be given but instead he would provide me with a fountain drink. 2 staff members approached and apologized profusely for his rudeness. I can't imagine the toxic work environment he creates for your staff and will not be returning to this location. read more

I sooo wanted to like this place. It's close to home and easy to get to. Well, until you park and people are trying to get out from the drive thru. The first time I waited in line way too long, second time the drive thru took way too long. I was new to all of this and asked how it worked since some of the items didn't really seem to match the entree. My rice was mushy and the food overall was bland. Even my soda tasted flat. Maybe I am missing something because this place is always crowded. I wish I could say I will try again but after 2 attempts I don't see it happening. read more

Let's start off on the card inside my bag to leave feedback sent me to an invalid link... I came and ordered through the drive through, no line so it was quick and easy. I ordered one small bowl, with original beef. I also had an additional Large bowl with original beef. I didn't know there was an option for a side so the employee slapped a side order of potatoes to my large bowl. I also ordered a water bottle but that never made it onto my tab. The quality of the meat was subpar, and was lukewarm at best. The potatoes were pretty much stale, and unchewable. Giving my meal pretty much a plate of rice, cold meat, and cold potatoes. I hope this location shapes up, as I would love to return and provide a more positive review. read more

I got a spicy gyudon beef bowl with noodles. It was very tasty. The older gentlemen who helped us was running around getting everyone their food while the young dudes seemed to be slacking. The older gentlemen was very professional and helpful. Young dudes, you gotta step it up a bit. Don't take advantage of nice older people just because they might need the job more. read more

Got a coupon in the mail for it's grand opening! I was very excited to try it because the name sounded fun. I understand the COVID-19 pandemic has made everyone frazzled and overwhelmed with the amount of orders they had to produce. My friend and I got the regular bowl with noodles, one with Beef and the other with Orange Chicken. However, one of the orders was incorrect and we did not check the bag beforehand as the other car was eager to move forward. Instead, we were charged the extra 50 cents for noodles but got rice instead. Although, the coupon did soften the blow of this extra cost, it disappointed us as we really wanted the noodles instead of plain white rice. The beef tasted standard, not very gourmet. It was a bit dry and the rice did not help with the flavor. As for the orange chicken, it was very tangy and complimented well with the noodles. The wait was a tad bit long because they are a new business trying to get situated with everything. The staff were very sweet and apologized for taking so long. I would come here again after the pandemic to give them another shot at improving. read more

Unfortunately, customer service at this Yoshinoya place is not only very rude but also cheated my money. They charged me wrong, then "refunded" me a greater amount than I was charged (even though the refund never came), and finally took even more of my cash which supposed to compensate for the extra refund amount. So I ended up paying $30+ with no food and no refund. I hope to be able to get my money back somehow but it may be difficult. The store manager refused to let us speak and kept cutting us off, even though it was the store that charged us wrong. Horrible experience, and horrible customer service. read more

The story of Yoshinoya begins in the bustling Nihonbashi Fish Market of Chuoku Tokyo in 1899. Here, hard-working fisherman were often hungry, but too busy to stop for a hot meal. Recently, I brought my father and my boyfriend for his first visit, expecting the same quality experience I had enjoyed for years. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. The menu has been significantly reduced, offering only a limited selection of options, while prices have increased substantially. I ordered the half chicken with brisket as my additional side for $38. When my meal arrived, I received only two pieces of chicken and a single piece of brisket. Upon cutting into the chicken, I noticed blood on the plate and the meat appeared pink. As I am currently pregnant, I did not feel comfortable eating it and asked our server if the chicken could be cooked longer. Instead, the manager came to the table holding my plate and explained that the chicken had been checked with a thermometer and was safe to eat. When I expressed my concerns regarding my pregnancy, he rolled his eyes and told me to choose something else rather than offering to cook the chicken further. I then asked if I could receive additional brisket since I was no longer comfortable eating the chicken. The manager responded, "That will cost more," and walked away. When my replacement arrived, I was served only two very small pieces of brisket and was charged extra for them. I am genuinely shocked by the lack of professionalism and customer service from the management team. Combined with the increased prices and noticeably smaller portions, the overall value simply is not there anymore. For longtime loyal customers, this experience was especially disappointing. After sharing my experience with family and friends, several decided not to visit, and unfortunately, I will not be returning either. The quality, portion sizes, and customer service no longer justify the cost. If you are looking for both quality and value, I would recommend considering other options.

I'm glad I was sharing this with someone else because I was already full halfway through the bowl. We had to order the ube churros as well...don't skip this! The dipping sauce it came with was so good. I kept dipping my churro into it too because it was that good. The churro was crunchy without being dry. This whole meal was one of those meals where you don't want it to end. It was my first time here and we waited 45 minutes for our food to be ready because of how busy it was. Some people ordered ahead of time so they skipped the wait altogether. The restaurant itself is quite small but we were lucky enough to snag a seat after rush hour. There are less than 10 tables for eating in. Restaurants like this are worth supporting because you know it's a small business and the food tastes like it's made out of love! We visited this location during a busy rush with the drive thru and opted to dine in since there were a few tables available. While the cashier acknowledged us quickly, the overall experience was a letdown. We ordered a Large Combo (Teriyaki Chicken, Beef, and Tempura Shrimp) and a Habanero Grilled Chicken Bowl with Udon and Clam Chowder (a $1 extra upgrade for each). Almost everything we ate had texture issues. The Udon was dry and choppy, breaking apart instead of being chewy. The Tempura Shrimp was also very dry, likely from sitting out too long. To top it off, the rice was soggy and the sauces were extremely salty. While the Clam Chowder sounded like a good side to balance the heat, it didn't settle well in my stomach later that evening. The dine-in experience was further frustrated by a broken fountain machine with no ice and a limited selection. Even after the staff kindly gave us ice from the drive-thru, the soda was completely flat and lacked carbonation.
