I am so happy I don't have to drive far to eat Sushi anymore. The place is small but has a nice homey feel to it. This is definitely a hole in the wall kind of place. Downtown Crestview is not all that exciting but ever since this place has been here, it has definitely changed my perspective. The variety and uniqueness of the sushi would probably have to be my favorite part about this restaurant. I am vegetarian so having more than just the cucumber avocado option is always amazing but this place has way way more and also they will customize my roll without charging me 5 dollars per ingredient! The rest of the food this is also quite amazing! You get hibachi dinners without the wildly expensive price tag. Yes you miss out on flames in your face but I would totally be okay with that! Great sushi, great fried rice. Just PCS'ed back from Guam and was hesitant to try sushi in the states again but they did not dissappoint. The fried rice is also amazing and they had all the condiments I like to use on my rice. The service is also great, our waitress was very friendly. Never had an empty cup on the table. The chef came out to greet us. He recognized my friends from their first visit and the review they left and gave the table tempura cheesecake on the house. Which you need to try if you've never had. DISGUSTING!! I ordered the rice plate a few nights ago and let me tell you it was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten from any Japanese establishment. Not only did my friends and I have to wait an HOUR for our meal but the food was just so disappointing. The miso tasted like foot water and smelt like it too. I told the waitress that I wasn't happy with my meal and she said to my face "oh you're the only person that doesn't like out rice, everyone else likes it" which i found so weird that she said this to a PAYING customer. I got a different plate the hibachi one and it was slightly better but not by much the meat was waaaay too chewy and underdone, she says they cook it medium rare but it tasted like it was straight from the cow with no seasoning whatsoever. All in all this place was a horrible experience if you're looking for great Japanese food Pensacola might be your best bet. The food is good and they are always friendly. They also are aware of celiac disease and are great at making accommodations to serve food without gluten. They have gluten free soy sauce on hand for you and to substitute in your dish. I don't think they have a designated gluten free pan however. Three stars because the service is EXTREMELY SLOW. They really need another server because there is only one running around frantically. Also, their sushi is good, but rolled REALLY loose.
