To Recap: The hose to my fridge's drinking water filtration sprung a leak. My brother came over and was able to stop the leakage by turning off the water line (connected from the sink to our fridge). For the next two months, my Mom and I survived on water bottles from Costco. However, I was getting fed up with hauling those heavy 40pks of water. Also, with the hot weather approaching, it was time to call in the professionals. Thanks to my trusty Yelp, I found Your Appliance Repair. I called on a Friday afternoon and Technician Mike came over on Saturday morning to diagnose the situation. He was friendly, honest and knowledgeable. He also talked to my brother to find out what my brother did first. Afterwards, Mike gave me his diagnosis and the cost breakdown should I move forward with the repairs. I also appreciated that he gave me some money saving options if I wanted to get the hose and kit first at Home Depot. I decided to move forward with the repairs and have him order the correct and necessary parts. The following week, Mike and Robert (Technician & Helper, who was also polite and friendly) arrived on Thursday at 6:30pm and 45mins later, successfully repaired and replaced the hose and connector (kit) to my fridge's drinking water filtration. They tested to ensure that the new hose didn't leak, water was actually coming out from the dispenser and cleaned up afterwards. Payment process was easy with my credit card, a swipe thru the Square App and a final signature. After that, I was given a copy of my bill/receipt and off they went. A few days later, I was so happy to see ice in my ice dispenser and cold water filling up my 1 Liter Water Bottle, yes!!! Overall, I highly recommend Your Appliance Repair. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Refrigerator repair experience unnecessarily terrible with service tech "Paul." Exceptionally bad at communicating. Acted insulted when asked to wear booties. Started creating an invoice for the service visit (which would be applied to any work) when asked for a basic explanation of the proposed repairs. After he left, the water dispenser stopped working so had to ask him to come back. He de-iced a coil and tried to leave before I could test for any other issues. My Fisher & Paykel refrigerator is not cooling. I contacted Your Appliance Repair on Monday, and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday with window between 5pm and 8 pm. The technician, Paul, gives me a call approximately 30 min. before heading to my house. I am very pleased with the service I received today. Yesterday I made a Yelp inquiry online and received multiple business responses. The price from this business was $49 for the service call. They had availability same day and next day. The technician came on time within the time frame quoted to me. He even removed his shoes and cleaned off his fingerprints off my stove top when he was done. The fan on my hood was fixed within minutes and I was only charged $49! He ended up showing up @ that time, then did a quick assessment to identify the issue as the rollers needing to be replaced. Excellent response time (got back to me the next morning when they opened), short wait time for an appointment, and the technician analyzed our refrigerator, determined what was wrong, fixed it very quickly and inexpensively, and then gave me tips on how to maintain the life of my refrigerator longer by just doing a few simple steps. To top it off, he then cleaned underneath where our refrigerator sits, as we hadn't moved it in years and it was quite dirty! He was cheerful, helpful, and very good at his job. Great stuff! I called mid-morning to see if I could get someone to look at my gas oven, got a same-day appointment and, Mike, the repairman called to see if he could show up early! Mike came to repair our refrigerator that had broken down, it's quite old by new fridge standards (over 10 years) and we weren't sure it could be saved. Not only did he work to solve the problem, but he also took the time to explain how to maintain it so it will last even longer! He had also come to repair our dryer, just needed a new belt. We were so happy with the service, we called when our dryer broke again -- this time Paul came and quickly let us know that it needed a new motor. Be careful!! They charge a $69 "estimate fee" so even if you don't get work done with them they will still charge that fee. Since you don't know the cost of the job you basically are forced to go with them or be out the $69(they waive the fee if you use their service). I called for a squeaky washer and Mike came on time. He also gave a courtesy 30 min call before he showed up which I always appreciate. He patiently sat through a rinse cycle to listen and diagnose the machine. He made a few adjustments to help with the noise, and explained that the sound I was hearing is typical for washers. The only solution would be to replace the entire drum which is half the cost of a new machine, so not really worth it. And I would probably start to hear the same noise again within a few years. I greatly appreciated that he did not try to sell me something I didn't need. He also told me ways to extend the life of the washer. The one star review is because they didn't perform any work for me due to lack of equipment. I was told by the gas company that there is a gas leak coming from my stove. After searching on Yelp, I called them and they sent someone to help me 3 days later. I was given a window 12pm-3pm... mike didn't show up until 4:30pm. When he showed up, he asked where the gas leak is coming from. I showed him some docs written up by the gas company. He told me the document wasn't accurate enough and "I don't have the equipment to detect the gas leak because they're too expensive." Hmm... okay.... but he charged me $69 to come out to "diagnose" it - yet he didn't diagnose anything because he doesn't have the equipment to diagnose it. read more

She was kind and courteous over the phone and we scheduled a visit for the following day. The service diagnostic visit was $69, but it would be waived if we decided to have them repair it. Alan spent a few minutes running it through the cycles and getting the error codes, and came back with the verdict. A failed water pump. He quickly quoted us what it would cost (pretty reasonable) and when we agreed, he ordered it on his phone and we arranged a time for the following day. When the part didn't arrive at their office as expected, Tanya quickly called and apologized, and we arranged for another date and time. I'm not the kind a person who gives reviews but this lady must have one, she was super rude, been calling to schedule for weeks, and she always made me call again cause she likes to hang up on people, just to say "send an email" and "do it again", why would I need to send an email if you have a phone on a website to schedule service?, Ive recorded 3 calls I made today with her, and when I asked her if I could speak with someone else she refused, I asked for a manager or the owner, and I was told "there is no owner and no manager", and that I souldn't be calling cause they're not gonna do anything for me, which it's ok, they have the right to refuse me, but that not the way to do it, she didn't even know where I was calling or why and still she did. read more

DONT, DONT, DONT call this place for your appliance repairs. Called them to diagnose and repair my Samsung dryer. They responded quickly enough, diagnosed the problem and I paid for the repair. Problem was not fixed, when the Tech returned I was told there was an additional problem (not diagnosed earlier) and there would be additional charges. Did not go forward with the additional repair, especially after I found I had been OVERCHARGED for the two parts that were replaced. (Charged over $100.00 for 2-parts that cost well under $20.00 each, in addition to the service charge.) In light of that I now question the validity of needing replacement of the parts they did put in. Needless to say will never call them again for any other repair. **UPDATE: After posting this review the business reached out to me to make amends for the bad experience I had. I called Your Appliance Repair on Monday morning shortly after they opened at 8 am.  Ann answered and I asked her if they would be able to stop by my home to take a look at our Whirlpool gas dryer (7 years old) - it would turn on, but it wasn't heating up.  The repair person said he would be able to stop by between 2 - 5 pm that day.  Paul called me shortly after 2 pm and said he was on his way.  When he arrived, he took the front panel off the dryer to run diagnostics (I was watching him all this time). Within 10 minutes, he found the problem - the thermal heat sensor went bad - a small part.  Thankfully he had the part with him and was able to replace it on spot.  He tested the dryer to make sure it worked and heated up - 20 minutes later, the dryer was as good as new.  The repair was reasonably priced and the guy was very courteous, professional, and easy to talk to.   Well Done, thanks. read more

They completely took apart our 23+ year old Maytag washer and dryer (big mess of a job) and told us that to replace them with parts that were new they could not guarantee that they would work. They put everything back together and cleaned up as they went along leaving the laundry room spic and span clean! After 1-1/2 hours they only charged $69.00, but my husband was nicer! Now we are replacing our washer and dryer with an LG because Mike said he does the least amount of repairs on LG. We would totally recommend Mike and Bruce for any appliance repair! Called on Saturday at 4:45 with a broken refrigerator. They were the only one to answer, and Mike was willing to come over after his last call at 8:00pm. 8pm on a Saturday! Anna is amazing. You want Neiman Marcus customer service call her Let me tell you my story: I bought all new appliances 22 years ago from Pacific sales. I take care of my appliances so they have lasted me this long. Over the last 20 years I have carried Home Warranty just in case. I have given the warranty company over $10,000 over the years and now when my washer broke last month the warranty company told me "sorry but your machine broke because of your negligence" They said I probably overloaded the machine and they are not going to pay for the repair or replacement. After 22 years this was their answer! I contacted a few appliance companies from Yelp for advice. Two companies really stood out. One was Your Appliance Repair. I explained to Anna that the plastic outer drum mounting hole where the suspension spring hooks into was broken. She advised me that the parts alone would be cost prohibitive and that it would be best to just buy a new washer. I also explained to Anna how the warranty company was screwing me, She volunteered to write me a letter which she then emailed me. The letter said that they were in business for 10 years and they have encountered washers with the same damage as mine and after 20 years of use it is most probably caused by normal wear and tear. I am going to use this letter to push back on the warranty company a bit. Your Appliance Repair company is not selling me anything nor do they have anything to gain helping out. This shows what kind of person Anna really is. She cares about people! So If she treats a stranger like me this way, how do you think she will treat you; her customer! My (less than two year old) dryer stopped working on a Tuesday morning after doing laundry Monday evening before. The warranty expired six months ago so I figured I'd call around to get an estimate. The manufacturer wanted to charge $108 to service the call on top of hourly labor fees and expenses for parts. That's basically a new dryer... I opted to pass on their service and looked for a local shop. Yelp brought me to "Your Appliance Repair." I called YAR on Tuesday afternoon where I spoke to Anna. She was very helpful. Anna was ready to dispatch a technician later Tuesday afternoon but my schedule did not align with that time. We opted for Wednesday morning. Like clockwork, Alex, the technician arrived. He called me when he was in route and he called again when he was outside of my residence. Within 10 minutes of observing/tinkering with the dryer, Alex had the appliance working like brand new. It was a minor item that needed to be replaced. Alex was extremely professional and helpful in resolving the matter. AND the total bill, including the replacement part, cost a little more than half of what the manufacturer wanted to charge for service the call [alone]. That did not include their labor fees and expenses for replacement parts. This experience was very positive and I will definitely keep Your Appliance Repair's number in my phone for future needs.
