Place rocks! its a bit far for me- i live in woodland hills, but even with the travel time and cost of gas, it was well worth it. I needed to get my car up on a lift to change the pre-cat 02 sensors ... it was a major pain in the a** with the jacks... did it in 15 minutes. I've been needing a new clutch for a few months now, that's gonna take a bit longer then 15 minutes, but i'm definitely going back here... If you love working on your car but don't like being under it with no room to move your arms and no proper light- do the drive to this place, its worth it. The owner is a really nice guy too, i think his name is Chance. Oh and you really don't need to bring any tools... i had my own o2 sensor removal tool, but the guy had it there already. read more

What a great concept. The guy was very friendly and he even allowed me to let my car cool down before working on it (exhaust issue). The garage and all tools are in mint condition, we found everything we needed for the job! I just wish they had a location closer to the west side, I live in Culver city so gas plus rental come out just cheap enough to drive there when I need a lift. I needed to install some parts on my car and considering I don't have any place to do it where I live, YDG seemed to be the perfect place. Reserved a few hours in the afternoon for mod installation and arrived to a packed house. I was the only customer, but there were plenty of cars in the shop waiting to be worked on. That said, I checked in with Chance (nice fella) who set me up with the first open space, and then went over the particulars. Basically you're given a workspace with or without a lift depending on your needs. The space also includes a tabletop to work, and underneath the tabletop are a ton of different tools that you can use which are included in the cost of your shop time. I actually brought my own, but ended up using a couple of theirs, as well. Along with that, you get to use a small rolling cart for moving stuff around. When you're done, if you've used their tools, you have to use the degreaser which they have in your work area before you put the tools back, and then drop the shop rags in the proper basket. Beyond that, pretty spacious work area, free cold water to drink, and some other refreshments for a small surcharge. The only cons would be that it's really hot in there, and a little dark. I ended up having to use a small flashlight for some stuff that I was working on, but the dark thing will just depend on your situation. That said, I'll definitely be back! read more

Like mentioned in pretty much every other post, this place is an auto DIYer's heaven. Every tool I asked for, they had read to go. Rates are very affordable and they are very lenient--For example, they had no problem letting us leave our car on a lift while we took an hour lunch break, and Chance (the owner) was even nice enough to dock our lunch time off the billable time. It's just what I've been looking for. A very clean and well equipped shop for all your repair needs on your car or motorcycle. I used to work at a car dealer and had access to the shop all the time, but since I left I've needed somewhere to work on my car. This certainly fits the bill. The rates are very reasonable considering what independent shops and dealers charge by the hour. And personally I don't think there are many out there that would know my car as well as I do considering I've had the motor apart and rebuilt a couple of times. read more

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. I recently moved to the are from Boston and my new place doesn't have a garage. We are living in complex that doesn't allow us to work on our cars in the lot (for obvious reasons...). I like to work on my car so I started looking around for a garage I could use. I found "Your Dream Garage" online. Today a buddy of mine and I spent 8 hours there, putting a new ported upper and lower intake into my Monte Carlo. The guy who runs it, Chance, is the nicest dude in the world. They have all the tools you need, and a bolt or two if you lose something. They had air for our impact gun, a parts wash station, alignment tool - I mean everything. It was cheap too. We paid $15/hr to get a spot without a lift and that included the tools we didn't have. They also sell fluids and the like. There's a mark up on that stuff, but it was worth it for the convenience (paid $5 for a bottle of brake cleaner, $2 for a bolt w/ nut). Total cost for the time we spent (8.5hrs) plus sodas/redbulls, and little items here and there: $130. Awesome. Even if I had a garage, I think I'd be spending some time here for the tools and lift. I'll be heading back in a month or two to put some custom headers on the Monte... read more

Awesome place! I always wished some place like this existed. Biggest downside of living downtown is the lack of a place to work my car and motorcycle. Dropped by here the other day to do some brake work (pads, lines, fluid) having a lift available for that was a dream come true. They had all the tools including a power bleder to make the job easy. I heard about this place on the car forums i go so I've known about this place for awhile but didnt have any pressing issues to fix that i couldnt fix at my own garage. When i found out my flexdisc was about to grenade i called up You Dream Garage and made an appointment for Sunday morning (4-27-2014). The place is really nice and clean, there are plenty of tools and the use of the lift was immensely helpful. Chance the owner was a really nice guy and help me put the car on the lift. I was able to do my flexdisc, rear shocks, rear spring perch, and new exhaust hangers all in one day. My cousin came and helped me and that was no problem with the shop as well. I purchased a VIP deal so I'll be coming back to do more work since it was such a good deal. seriously these rates are pretty good especially since you have access to so many tools. there's no way i could have done what i did that day without every tool that was at my disposal. the best part i think is the fact that it's much much cheaper than going to a shop and the peace of mind of doing it yourself and knowing it was done right. Great service and help! This is an awesome concept for amateur gear heads/novices who love cars and would rather learn and do versus get ripped off by dealerships. Chance, the owner was very helpful and instructive as this was my first time using a lift and some of the tools. The rates per hour are very reasonable, and although I took longer than I thought I would for what I thought would be "simple" rear differential and transmission fluid changes, it was well worth it. It was my first experience with this place. My minivan needed new timing belt and water pump replacement. I made appointment a week before and called again to confirm 2 days before. The owner Chance was greatly helpful on everything you could ask for. Since it was my first time doing DIY on timing belt job, it took longer than I expected(9 hours and 45 minutes). I was the only customer until 2~3 o'clock afternoon because it was weekday. I brought my tools but didn't need any because they had everything. First I ask for half day(6 hours) but end up staying there for 9+ hours. If you are planning or end up stay there for more than 9 hours, I recommend buying a silver package that Chance offered. You only have to pay $25 more and get left over hours plus some bonus hours for next time. I will soon visit again for my next job which will be lower control arm replacement. Thanks Chance.
