My tenants kitchen faucet started leaking with a hissing sound upon waking up in the morning. It was a very cold that night and they were worried about a burst pipe. This is not the first time I had this company come over to fix plumbing issues. They have been very good and reliable so far each time so we decided to call them to check and make sure. Justin came up right away within a few hours, diagnosed the problem, and its not a burst pipe and its just a faulty faucet which needs to be replaced. FANTASTIC JOB. I highly recommend Terry for any plumbing problem. We recently came home from a trip to find that the pipes had frozen. I called Your Helpful Plumber and Terry answered immediately. He gave me a VERY reasonable price and sent 2 people out within a few hours. Unfortunately, this first crew tracked mud through the house and did not leave the bathroom in the best condition. Terry had them come back, clean up, and make sure I was happy. The problem had not been solved tho (it was tricky), so Terry came himself the following day. He worked tirelessly for 3 days, never gave up, and finally found the root of the problem. It wasn't easy, and many other people would have given up or charged more. Had a pipe rupture underneath our kitchen sink which rendered the sink unusable. Called YHP and they scheduled someone to be at our place 2 hours later. I texted picture of the rupture to YHP and that helped them get all the parts they needed before they git to our place. The gentleman who did the actual work was professional, courteous and got right to work. He was done in about 20 minutes. The bill was not insubstantial but that's part of the price you pay when you can't do this work yourself and its an emergency. read more

Our sunpump was constanly working and our sewage was backed up. I called few different plumbers as I am 9months pregnant and wanted to get it done asap. Steve on the phone was very nice and told me that it would cost $325 to rod the main sewage line which I wrote it down, but I totally forgot the price when his plumber Frank showed up to look at it the same day. Plumber Frank told me it could take 2-3hrs or more that he wouldn't know until he starts, and it would cost $400. He was done in 15min, in the mean time I called Steve and confirmed the price of$325, but Frank still charged me $400 for 15min of work. I felt like he was taking advantage of my urgency. Frank, congrats ripping of a pregnant lady, but he did rod the line. Then we learned that rodding the main line may not resolve our issue which there may be leaks on the pipes that may require structural work. read more

They came out for a water heater where the pilot wouldn't stay lit. They determined the inside of the tank had a crack and the dipping was putting out the pilot. The tech said he would price out a new one and get back to me. Over a week later I have not heard back and the voice mail is full so I can't leave a message asking for an update. So a couple of months ago back in August or September, my roommate and I were experiencing a slow-draining shower in our apartment (which is a garden unit). We tried the zip-it to see if we could remove any hair which we believed was the cause of the problem. After browsing Yelp for Plumbers in the area, we came upon Your Helpful Plumber and were VERY skeptical about them because of all the great reviews on Yelp, but it was the only place open 24 hours (it was 11pm when we called) so we scheduled an appointment for the following day. One of the guys came by with some sort of air pump to shoot air through the shower drain to unclog it. After multiple attempts, this didn't work but instead it caused our toilet to start leaking and making gurgling noises. After trying different things to our toilet and sink, he assessed that the problem wasn't with our unit but with the main pump of our entire building. He called two other guys to come and assess the situation and they came promply within 30 minutes and sure enough, they had to replace the main pump. As stressful as this entire situation was for me, I can honestly say these guys are great and were able to solve the problem at hand. read more

I had a gas leak after Best Buy installed my new washer and dryer. The closet was full of gas and I knew they wouldn't come back... (long story, but that was the fourth time for the installation of the washer and dryer). I called The helpful plumber on a Sunday and I got an immediate response! I was really impressed that the person worked with me on finding a way to help me that day seeing that I had called around noon on Sunday. The plumber, Justin called me to get more specifics to see what he would need and checked in later that night after we setup a time to get the gas leak fixed. He was very good at communicating and getting someone at our house on a very busy weekend. The team went with me to Menards and helped me pick out a water heater and all the parts necessary to install. They were able to drive the large water heater to my house and made quick work of the replacement. His team also did a great job cleaning up and moved the old water heater out of the house. I can't tell you how much these guys saved my life (well, my tenants lives anyway) when they discovered a gas leak in the pipes coming from the furnace and in the walls. My tenant called me at 5:00 on a Friday night. I had a plumber on-site within an hour and a half. It was a complicated job and Tim worked literally through the night to fix the leaky gas pipes. Not only did the pipes get fixed and approved by the gas company ( who had shut off the gas), my tenant was amazed at the service I was able to provide. These guys are all about customer service and extremely competitive prices. Had a toilet issue at my rental property and wasn't sure what the cause was. Called late morning and they were willing to come out that day. It wasn't an emergency so we scheduled for the following day. I was given a one hour window time frame and they were 10 mins early. Tenant said a lotion bottle had fallen in. They tried for 30 mins to remove the object from the middle of the tank. There was no way for it to be removed without breaking the toilet, so a new toilet was needed. They offered to pick up a new toilet for me and return the following day. They showed up on time, were efficient and left the job site clean. Price was reasonable and I was not charged for the service the day before when they tried removing the object. While they were there I had another tenant with a garbage disposal issue. They inspected it and found the motor to be bad. They offered to replace it for me, but said my general maintenance guy would probably do it for less money. These guys are professional, efficient and honest. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future. read more
