She made the experience 10x better. The ambiance was immaculate. It's an indoor space with a cozy and contemporary vibe. Loved the tree with Christmas lights! My girlfriend loved it so that's a win for me automatically lol The food was really good! We always order crispy rice whenever we go and tbh, the tuna tartare was probably one of the best we've tried! I ordered the rigatoni and my girlfriend ordered the lemon spaghetti. Both were very good, ALTHOUGH! I think sriracha would've been the cherry on top That's just me though hahaha. I don't usually like cocktail drinks because I'm weary with bitter/sweet flavors that are overpowering BUT!!! The Cali was hella fire! Definitely recommend that. I enjoyed my dinner here! I came late on a Wednesday night around 11pm. The kitchen closes at midnight and the bar area stays open until 2am, which is very nice when so much closes early these days. The vibe is very nice. Dimly lit and many different aspects to each dining space. The staircase seating area was very unique. The service was efficient but not that friendly. It felt kind of rushed and short (might have been the time of night) ---but everything was correct, so that is the whole point. I enjoyed my roasted veggies as an appetizer. I looked at the greek salad online, which looked a little plain for the price, so I decided against it. I had the vodka pasta for my entree which was very tasty. I didn't inquire about adding meat to the pasta, but adding chicken or salmon would make it a more hearty meal. The chocolate cake dessert was straight from Matilda! Moist, not overly sweet and served with ice cream. It did have chocolate chips inside that were a little crunchy, and I was not a fan of that. but I would still get it again. Overall this was a delicious meal and I would return for a nice dinner out or a special occasion. Very nice ambiance. This would be a really nice place for a romantic date or for casual dinner with friends. The prices were reasonable. I had the shrimp appetizer, it was really good. Entree was the lemon spaghetti and I added chicken. I really liked the tart flavor of the spaghetti. The lemon was perfect and not overpowering. I did find it odd that it was not served with a crusty bread that would have gone perfectly with it. Dessert was crème brûlée which was divine. Our server was Sunshine. She was very nice and attentive and had a friendly energy about her. I would come here again. Our server took forever to get to us and i genuinely thinks its bc we were and apparently looked younger and it was our friends birthday she turned 21, A special milestone that should be celebrated you know ? i felt like everyone judged us and it felt Very neglectful from the beginning. Ysabel definitely checks a lot of boxes - with a few caveats. I certainly feel that for a special occasion, like a birthday or anniversary, Ysabel is a wonderful vibe and experience. That being said....the service is a tad bit lacking in hospitality and not the most warm and welcoming...when it comes to giving a bit more of a personal touch. I do have to say, I LOVED just about everything that I ate here. I was worried that it would just be overpriced, average food at a trendy LA restaurant, but I am very happy to say that I was proven WRONG! Starting with the appetizers, I found the Hamachi Crudo to be beautifully light, silky smoothy, with a good amount of citrusy-ness and acidity. The Wagyu Skewers were also perfectly cooked and I enjoyed the scallions and mushrooms they come with. A few of the skewers weren't chopped into different pieces, although that's a minor gripe. The main plates of Lemon Pasta and the Hand-Cut Rigatoni were PERFECT. My Lemon Spaghetti was deliciously saucy and creamy while still also being light. I loved the slight zesty flavor while still being savory and saucy. Just THE perfect pasta, in my opinion. The Rigatoni also had just the right amount of heat and creaminess to its sauce. OH YES, and the Burrata & Prosciutto Salad was my surprise stand-out of the night! Generous portions, gorgeously presented, and the toppings all fresh and complementing each other JUST RIGHT! I also loved the cocktails here - especially the Something About Cherry - lightly fruity and rich without being overly sugary, and the Second Wind Espresso Martinis also being delicately prepared in just the right way. Swinging back to the vibes, I loved the relaxing atmosphere with the golden lighting everywhere and twinkling lights hanging from tree branches - perfect for a special occasion..even when it's a fully packed dining room on a Friday evening! That being said, I just had to take a star off for the service here. While not horrible, it was a disappointment..especially since it was my birthday and no one even offered any 'Happy Birthday' wishes. At least once would've been appreciated. It was also a bit slow, difficult to get more water refills to the table, and slightly gruff and rude overall in hospitality. Still, I definitely think the food quality and ambiance here make it well worth a visit for a date night or special occasion! read more

At the end of dinner, I was suddenly informed that our $3,000 bill could only be split across a maximum of four cards -- on a table of 22 people. This policy was never communicated beforehand. I've dined at many restaurants and hosted large dinners before, and I've genuinely never encountered this issue. Had I known in advance, I would have planned accordingly. What made the situation worse was the way it was handled by management. From the moment I booked, I was required to sign agreements, provide card details, and accept cancellation penalties per guest, so it felt like all the obligations were placed on me as the customer. Yet when it came to transparency on their end regarding payment limitations, there was none. I remained respectful throughout the interaction, but the response I received from both the manager and waitress came across as dismissive and unnecessarily arrogant. That, more than anything, left a bad taste in my mouth. The food and drinks were fine -- about what you'd expect -- but the service overall was quite slow, and drinks took a very long time to arrive. For me, dining out is also about ambience and hospitality, and unfortunately the experience fell apart at the end. I would not host a large event there again purely because of how the situation was handled. read more

That part threw off the flow a bit since I personally prefer to sip my cocktail before digging into the food. I'm not sure if that's just how Isabel runs their service, but it's something I'd love to see improved next time. As for the food itself--everything we ordered was solid and satisfying. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it was well-prepared and definitely worth the price. The cocktails were strong and flavorful--one was honestly enough for me, even though I usually go for two or three! I went to Ysabel to celebrate my birthday. I was so excited because I had heard good things and all the pics I saw showed such a cute space. When I arrived I was greeted by two ladies. Both were standoffish. They made us wait by the bar for 45 minutes, though I made a reservation weeks in advance and the reservation reason was for a birthday. After my friends and I had 2 rounds of drinks we were finally seated. They sat us in a table far in the back. Once seated, our waiter never came and introduced themselves. Never asked if we needed water or a drink or an appetizer. This resulted in us stopping each person that passed our table to ask for out waiter. It had been around 15 - 20 mins and us stopping multiple people until our waiter finally showed up. He took our order. Messed up the orders several times, forgot to put things in and charged us for things we didn't order. Like most people, I take my birthday very seriously and want to enjoy my time wherever I choose to spend it. I could not believe what I was experiencing. I'm from Los Angeles and am used to experiences on the higher end. Let's just say Ysabel did not measure up. I left feeling underwelmed by the energy, the service and the quality of the staff. My friends and I spent a lot of money there and received beyond piss poor service. Everyone was horrible, from the people greeting down to the point of us leaving. The food also had the nerve to be mid. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful place can be so ugly. read more

Fried calamari and charcuterie board is worth trying as well. Still working on figuring out which drink is my favorite but you can almost never go wrong with any of their drinks or dishes.
