Thanks to my daughter for making dinner reservations. It was fabulous!! Since we came here on a Sunday, we were lucky to find free street parking. We got there early for dinner, so we beat the crowd. So many nice and interesting places to sit outside. The seating inside looked nice as well. We had calamari which came with a tasty dip. I've had calamari at many different restaurants, and this one was really good, but I have to admit I've had better. I would still order it again though. I ordered a pasta dish which tasted so good and was filling. My drink had just the right amount of alcohol in it. I should have asked for another one!! It was that good. The restroom was so nice and clean. There's a really large mirror in the restroom and the lighting was actually good. Some restrooms are way too dark. Great place for dinner with family and/or friends. The customer service was good as well as the service. Really nice vibes.
Years and years ago, this place used to be IT. Ysabel was popppppping on the weekends, and attracted groups and groups of people living their best LA life. The food was great, the vibes were there, and the decor added to the swanky ambiance. I even remember all of the pictures we'd take in front of their iconic wall of faces! I still have them, and they serve as souvenirs of wonderful memories... Good times. I recently went back to Ysabel on a Friday night and it was much different than what I remember. The environment was quiet, it was about 1/5 full if not a little less, and the food was just okay. It reminded me a bit of Lavo, just before they announced they were shutting business down. Ysabel was unfortunately not great about accommodating a food allergy at our table. Other restaurants swap ingredients or make suggestions or offer up alternatives, but Ysabel pointed out a couple of sides and deterred us from most of the menu. Not the best experience. The food we tried was okay... nothing to write home about, nothing I felt I had to come back for ASAP, and especially not for their price point. Disappointing but not all that surprising - seems like another LA place that has lost its way a bit through the years, especially post-COVID. Valet parking is your best bet here.

We're visiting from the Bay Area and wanted to try Ysabel out since I had seen a lot of great reviews about it online. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Love the ambiance and the vibe of the place- very romantic and fancy. For drinks we ordered the "Something About Cherry" and the "Sophia"- both of which were sweet, delicious and definitely strong. For apps we ordered truffle Parmesan fries, calamari and my favorite- the tartare. I could probably have 5 more of those tbh. I ordered the Spicy Rigatoni for my entree and it was amazing. I wish it would've came with some sort of chicken or protein since the pasta itself is heavy but overall it was delectable. Definitely recommend anyone who's looking for a nice restaurant with great food to come here.
We went to Ysabel for my wife's birthday and it's a pretty perfect birthday spot if you're parents looking to feel like you actually went out on the town. Especially if you live in the Valley and rarely go over the hill after 6pm. Ysabel has been on our radar as one of those celebrity/Instagram-friendly spots, and the space is the first thing that stands out. You enter through a small, tunnel-like corridor off busy Fairfax, with almost nothing visible from the street. Then you walk in and feel transported. The patio is a must with its twinkly trees, candles, white booths, marble tables and enough LA-ness to make the night feel a little special. We were honestly happy just being there on a beautiful summer evening. The cocktails were delicious and very aesthetic, though not exactly strong for our tolerance levels. Maybe that says more about us than the drinks. Still, delicious. We mostly ordered seafood and everything was solid for a three-dollar-sign restaurant. Good, but nothing life-changing. The warm apple pie-style dessert in a cute cast-iron pan with maple ice cream was excellent and probably the highlight. We went at 6pm on a Wednesday, so it wasn't too busy, which we liked. But as we were leaving, it started to pick up and we realized a little more people energy and people-watching would've been nice. Service was fine, but not especially warm. Our waitress did her job, but she started off pretty low-energy and only became more engaging toward the end. Food came out relatively quickly, though. I gave it 4 stars mainly because the service lacked a little enthusiasm. But if you're celebrating something special and don't mind spending $100+ per person, Ysabel is definitely that spot.
I went to Ysabel on May 4th, 2024, and it recently came up again in my social media memories, which reminded me of the place. At that time, I went there with my mom for brunch, and I remember the atmosphere being really nice. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and overall it was a very enjoyable experience.
first time trying ysabel and i've seen it all over social media for so long, i'm glad they didn't disappoint! there's valet right in-front and it's $15. i thought the restaurant was small while we walked in but when i was walking to the restroom i noticed it was actually very spacious and had tons of indoor and outdoor seating. the food was amazing and both the service and ambiance was great! our server gave great recommendations so we went with * fried calamari - small pieces and was a bit lacking in flavor * wagyu yakatori skewers - so delicious, also came with some sweet potato's! * crispy sesame shrimp - is was actually shocked how good this was! & the sauce they give on the side was so good * fries * truffle fries * hand cut rigatoni - definitely adding this to my fav pasta dishes! i think it's better than the pasta at elephante, it was saucier and a bit spicy! our server came back a couple times to check up on us and our waters were constantly refilled as well!
One of my favorite places! I keep coming back mainly for the hand-cut vodka rigatoni -- it's definitely the star of the menu for me. I've had it many times and it's always so good. I've also tried the schnitzel, which was okay but nothing too special. Unfortunately, the wagyu sticks with mushrooms were a big disappointment. The meat was extremely undercooked and so chewy it almost felt like chewing gum, so I definitely wouldn't order those again. I've also tried the fried calamari and the watermelon salad, which were pretty good. Overall, I've tried quite a few things here, but the pasta is what keeps bringing me back. The hand-cut vodka rigatoni alone is worth the visit! But service itself bad we waited for server for 20 minutes just to get menu while we were seated , also we had reservations prior on 6:30 but I've pushed to 7:00 cus of traffic , but I they were picking up phone and hanging up on me FOUR times , and when I called from my friends phone they picked up same minute

Trendy, cute super trendy, pretty, vibrant spot great for Fridays and Saturdays gatherings! It's usually crowded so would definitely need to make a reservation, however, you can chill in the bar (they have 2 inside bars) or by the stairs while waiting. Cocktails are a piece of art! I had cactus and it was absolutely amazing! Atmosphere is very nice and even feels slightly private, even though place is super crowded (probably table that are far-ish from each other help). Food was delicious- from appetizers like fries and Brussels sprouts to hand cut rigatoni and chicken snitzel! Work of art. The only thing that was slightly annoying was that waiters were trying to make us pay before we haven't even finished our courses and drinks yet, it felt a little rude, but we all gotta do what we gotta do. Overall- worth coming and hanging!
Had a wonderful experience at Ysabel. Group of us made same day reservation around 6 pm and it was empty. The ambiance is beautiful, I love the lights on the trees! The food was fantastic. Each dish was made to perfection no notes. The drinks were equally as delicious. Our waiter knew the menu and had some great recommendations for the table. Would absolutely come back for date night if I'm in the area.
I was having trouble finding a birthday dine spot, and I came across this beautiful gem. From start to finish I've got to say it was one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant in awhile. The server was super knowledgeable and broke down the menu as first timers, I ordered the miso salmon and my boyfriend had their vodka pasta with chicken. We both were in awe of these two plates, the miso salmon was packed with flavor and paired so well with their "black forbidden rice." The vodka pasta had the perfect kick to it. Our drinks were delicious! I ordered the something about cherry drink, which was a vodka based cocktail (not my usual) , but I wanted to try something other than a margarita. Thank you to the Ysabel team for making my birthday dinner so special, they even add a birthday card along with your dessert! Now moving onto the ambiance, it was one of the most beautiful, most intimate/romantic restaurants I've been to in awhile. I loved that they had trees with lights in the restaurant, and roses hanging from the trees. The iconic steps make for great Instagram pictures!
Made a reservation for 8 PM, and it ended up being a really nice spot. The restaurant has a beautiful, whimsical atmosphere that feels elevated without being over the top. Parking was easy with the $15 valet, and service was friendly and efficient. Our food came out quickly, which was nice. We shared the brussels sprouts, spicy tuna tartare, and hamachi crudo to start, and I ordered the hand-cut rigatoni. The appetizers were definitely the highlight of the meal! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the spicy tuna tartare, which was my favorite. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing between two people. The hand-cut rigatoni was good, but it didn't stand out as much as the appetizers. By the end of the meal, we were both very full. Overall, it's definitely on the pricier side, but the beautiful ambiance, great service, and delicious appetizers make it worth visiting for a special occasion or date night.
Went to Ysabel recently for a girls night and it did not disappoint. We went for drinks and apps before a night out but we both agreed we'd be back for a full dinner because of how delicious everything was. Every drink we tried was so good and we both loved the cauliflower tempura. We saw a few steaks from nearby tables and they looked DELICIOUS. The atmosphere is romantic and very pretty. Will definitely be back.

Came here for my bf's birthday and the food was 10/10!! The New York cooked to perfection and you have to order the rigatoni! Honorable mentions are mashed potatoes and wagyu yakitori (not pictured) Our waitress wasn't really checking on us for so I rated this place a 4/5 but the bussers were on it! The ambiance is really nice, we weren't by the lights but we were by a booth that had a view of it and basically had our own private corner. Would definitely come back! read more

Beautiful atmosphere for dinner! I recommend going right before sundown for a fuller patio experience. If you have the choice, choose seating near the olive trees. Food was overall great. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, wagyu skewers, burrata, and spicy tuna crispy rice for our appetizers. For our entree, we shared the lemon pasta and branzino. We finished off with the Mandarin Tart. Of the appetizers, the Brussel sprouts seemed the most unique and flavorful. They're tossed in a kimchi sauce, so it has a nice mild spice. The wagyu unfortunately had an unpleasant meat smell (maybe not super fresh), and the spicy tuna crispy rice was nothing special - good but only worth ordering if you're really craving it. Our server told us the lemon pasta was very "lemon-forward," but it was not as tangy as I anticipated. If you're on the fence, staff will recommend dishes that pair well with the lemon pasta! We enjoyed it with our branzino because this palate was much more simple. For special events and celebrations, Ysabel will give you an enjoyable experience. read more
Honestly, our server Connor, made a good dining experience a great one. Highly attentive, funny, friendly, and charismatic! Truly the charm of our dinner. As for food, it was good -- not particularly spectacular, but a generous portion with lovely presentation. Drinks were delicious and dessert was too. We ordered a ribeye, sea bass, rigatoni, asparagus, and for dessert affogato and crème brûlée. Ambiance is lovely for a first date or hangout. Weekdays seem to be the vibe as it's not so crowded and more intimate crowds. read more

Gorgeous space for a date night or girls dinner. Modern, chic style great for pictures. Definitely a splurge but a $$ well spent. Food was delicious exceeded my expectations, beautiful restaurants tend to lose focus in flavor but this hit the spot. Short rib pasta & truffle fries were so good, service was attentive. Came here for a birthday dinner and left kind of disappointed. Didn't know what to expect here but with all the good reviews, I was expecting something but received nothing. They offer valet parking! Food was good, but in a city like LA, nothing really stood out to me. Presentation of the food was real pretty though! The ambiance and vibes were stunning and beautiful with plenty of seats. There's an outdoor and indoor seating, which we opted for outdoors. It was nighttime so lights were very, very, very dim. Service was okay, we did sit there for a while before anyone took our order. This place is a solid 2.2/5. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. This may be my new favorite restaurant in LA. I feel like I've seen this place all over my feed but thought it was just going to be an aesthetic place with mid food. no. The food was insane. My chicken Milanese was quite literally the best thing I have ever ate. It was super crispy and had like dates to make sweet but lemony greens to make it sour and omg I could go on and on about how great it was. And the vibes were just cherry on top like I am already thinking of when I can go back. read more

This place was amazing. We went for an anniversary and the vibe was very much romantic/moody garden. Ambiance is on point, but more importantly, the food was SO good. Like I'm still dreaming about it, man. * Kimchi Brussel Sprouts: perfect balance of flavors. I'm a kimchi fanatic but if it isn't your vibe, I don't think the kimchi flavor was very strong or apparent. * Lemon spaghetti: our server asked us if we wanted burrata with it. The answer will always be yes. It was SO good. My favorite dish. So simple but so flavorful at the same time. * Artichoke tortellini: this dish was so unique. The presentation was gorgeous. Idk what was in the sauce but it was like Crack. * Roasted corn: if you like esquites, you will love this. * Chocolate cake & ice cream: the ice was lovely but the cake was average. Still enjoyed it but it was not the standout of the meal. Our server was so nice and attentive. I wish I could remember her name but she had an Aussie accent (I think) and looked like/reminded me of Margot Robbie thanks for the lovely experience! read more

The Cauliflower Steak at Ysabel was beautifully roasted with a tender center and just the right amount of char. The creamy hummus, confit garlic, crispy chickpeas, and spinach rounded everything out. Nice vegan dish. read more
Ysabel is a cute restaurant with an outdoor upscale vibe. I shared the rigatoni and lemon pasta with my friend, and both pastas tasted fresh and had good sauces. As an appetizer we got the spicy tuna tartar, which is served on crispy rice. Wasn't the best I've had and was kind of pricy, but was solid. For my friend's birthday, they were able to put together a small dessert which was molten chocolate cake with ice cream. They have a lot of staff that were attentive to our table. This included people designated to refilling waters, which was needed several times because their water glasses were so small. One small comment I would have is that their metal chairs were uncomfortable for dining for close to 2 hours, and we would have much preferred another seating option. read more

$15 valet parking. came here for a birthday dinner and their level of service to write a handwritten note alongside a celebratory dessert felt like the perfect touch to make any dinner more special. hidden between walls of greenery, the entrance leads you to an open space filled with marble white decor and string lights woven around the trees. the hostess was very friendly and it felt much more elevated than the standard greeting, calling us her "friends" and wishing us a wonderful birthday. it made me self-reflect on my own service as well LOL for drinks, we ordered the second wind and blood orange margarita. as a mezcal pessimist, i would have probably switched out for another liquor for the blood orange margarita. the second wind (espresso martini) wasnt too sweet but i think the taste of caffeine and alcohol mixing together packed more of a punch. the wagyu yakitori is basically galbi skewers; the marinade is almost identical. despite their similarities, i still enjoyed the dish and the fact that it was protein heavy kept me satiated until our main course. lemon spaghetti is cream based AND didnt have an overwhelming lemon flavor, which i really liked. lots of cheese within the pasta as well :p the ribeye was cooked to my liking as it wasn't chewy at all. the dessert was a nice finish with the fudge brownie and what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. read more
After exploring a few options, my friends and I decided to dine at Ysabel for a birthday dinner. Unfortunately, the experience didn't start off well. Upon arrival, our group of five stood waiting several minutes without being greeted. Eventually, I had to ask a passing staff member how we could get seated. The host who finally helped us was not particularly welcoming -- we felt judged, which immediately set the wrong tone for the evening. Thankfully, our server (ginger/red hair) turned the experience around a bit. She was lovely and kind -- as were the staff who brought out our food. We ordered the lemon pasta and rigatoni. The lemon pasta was a 10/10 -- creamy, bright, and perfectly balanced with the right amount of lemon. The rigatoni was an 8/10, rich and flavorful. The cocktails were also beautifully crafted -- the Daisy & She's the Cherry (10/10). However, after finishing our meal and paying, we stopped by the exit to take some pictures together. The hosts appeared visibly bothered and stood behind the host stand whispering and staring at us, which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. Overall, while the food and drinks were excellent, the lack of warmth and professionalism from the front-of-house staff really took away from what could've been a great dining experience. However the drink was not as good! It was horrible i forgot the name but it is pictured and it was a rum with some pineapple fruit. Not so tasty! The vibe here is seriously on point. The decor is gorgeous, the patio lights are magical, and it totally feels like the kind of spot you'd want to gather with friends and settle in for a fun night. Plus, the drink menu is super creative--definitely some fun options to try. That said, the service kinda missed the mark. When we got there, the hostess let us know we had a 90-minute time limit--which is fine--but after we sat down, our server said a quick hello... then disappeared for like 10 minutes before we could even order drinks. Food-wise, it was a bit uneven. Three of our pasta dishes came out together, but the chicken dish didn't show up for another five minutes. Not a huge deal, but for a place that feels like it's going for a fine dining experience, I expected a little more polish. Our server also didn't check in much--we were done with our drinks and kinda just sitting there waiting. The food was tasty, but in a city like LA, where there are so many great spots with amazing service to match, this one didn't really stand out. Would I go back? Not for dinner. But I'd definitely stop by again for a drink and some apps at the bar--it's a great scene for that. read more

Amazing environment. Lovely lights and it sets the perfect mood. Amazing and welcoming staff. We only tried the appetizers and a salad. Each one set the bar higher for the next. Everything was flavorful and garnished with love. The chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream is a must!! read more
It's a nice ambiance for dinner but the servers would literally rush you while you're trying to eat and tried to bring the check or dessert menu in the middle of our meal. They also did this with everyone around us, super awk. If you're looking for an elevated restaurant to chill it's not ysabel. Otherwise, we got the brussels sprouts and tuna tartare (it was like a twist on spicy tuna crispy rice). Both were pretty good! For our entrees we got the mediterranean salad and the rigatoni. A great experience to ring in my daughter's 21st bday. Our waitress went above and beyond, I believe her name was Emily. She made the experience wonderful. I had the cut rigatoni which was delicious. I believe the steak was also delicious and the drinks were strong but in a good way. Overall, I would def be returning. read more

The food was LITERALLY to die for. I thought I didn't like Kale, but the first bite of the Kale Caesar salad actually took me into another universe. I also am not a big fry girl, but the truffle fries with Parmesan were literally some of the best things I ever put in my mouth. The restaurant itself was so modestly decorated yet so elegant and lavish-esque looking. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because it took our table #WAY too freaking long to have somebody come greet us and get our orders. While the servers themselves were very nice, they forgot to bring items that we had asked to be brought to the table such as salt and pepper for my salad. Also, we didn't realize that the water that they first offer (Evian) is eight dollar per bottle water. while we obviously drank it all and paid for it, just something to keep in mind if you guys are more of a water from tap people. read more
We love coming to Ysabel! This is my 4th time dining here and it's always amazing vibes. From the twinkle lit trees, heated lamps, and mood lighting to the delicious food and beautifully-arranged cocktails, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We got the rigatoni and the chicken, which were cooked to perfection. I also got the blood orange margarita which was also fantastic. The service was also so speedy and efficient, that it could've bordered on too fast haha. Right when I put my fork down someone asked if I was done haha. The restaurant feels premium. Very boujee and classy feeling. I came here for my birthday so it fit the occasion. Service was great. Our server was extremely helpful in suggestions. We also had our water refilled constantly so we felt very taken care of. Only thing I'd note is that the tables are kinda close together so it didn't feel like there was much privacy. Food was mediocre. I think we paid more for the experience and the atmosphere for the occasion. My favorite is probably the scallops though there are only a few pieces so it's hard to get full off just those if they're not paired with appetizers. Not sure if I'd come back again. My experience wasn't bad but I'd like to try other restaurants that offer similar experiences and may have better food. read more

Absolutely! There's lots of options for non alcoholic drinks.

Do we need a reservation for brunch on Sunday?
It doesn't hurt. You can be a walk up, but make sure you're a small group of 4 or less- two is golden. We've done it plenty of times with spur of the moment brunches

If a group of 3 just want to go for drinks at 8:30pm on a Saturday (no dinner), is reservation required? No one is picking up the phone at the establishment.
You'll still need a reservation. Just keep calling because they will eventually pick up! It happened to be as well. So just keep trying(:
