We ordered the Brussel sprouts, this cheese dish, scallops, and this lobster pasta. Ok everyone absolutely needs to get the Brussel sprouts. I don't care what you get but you have to get it. It was crispy, salty, sweet basically a flavor bomb in your mouth. The scallops were also very good. Light and perfectly cooked. Now for the food... pretty mid, to be honest. The Branzino was a letdown--small portion and totally lacking in flavor. The rigatoni was decent, not bad by any means, but didn't really stand out either. The surprise hit? The fries--crispy, salty, and weirdly the highlight of the meal. Can't go wrong with those. Came here for our 5 year anniversary. Delightfully surprised. The food choices are insane. My fiance and I couldn't choose between a lot of the items bc we wanted to try everything. I was so happy I chose this spot for us because even the apps looked so good. Next time we come we're going to try the items we didn't get. We got 3/4 apps, 2 mains and 3 sides. Major foodies! I chose Yasbel to celebrate my post-courthouse wedding because of its beautiful location. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. While the setting itself is lovely, the service--particularly from the host--completely overshadowed what should have been a special occasion. The host was unfriendly, cold, and came across as openly prejudicial. Her demeanor was callous, and she repeatedly looked down on my guests, making visible expressions of disgust and annoyance throughout our time there. That negative energy alone was enough to sour the entire experience. To make matters worse, the service overall was atrocious and the food was overly salty. For the high prices charged, the quality and hospitality were nowhere near acceptable. A beautiful location cannot compensate for rude staff, poor service, and an unwelcoming atmosphere. The tortellini was just ok minus the nuts in it. The service was fine, the waitress was kind and patient, but it was hard getting their attention and overall every simple task had a minimum 5-10 minute wait. What a pleasant surprise on Fairfax! Great vibe both inside and the beautiful patio. I appreciate how the tables are arranged so you don't feel like your on top of other guests. Coming at 6pm was a nice way to start the evening before it becomes really lively in the best way. The food service is professional and lovely. Menu was a nice variety and delicious. The only mark against the evening (Friday) was barely sitting down the hostess announced since it was the weekend (since when does the weekend include Friday?) we had 90 mins for the table. There is a time and place(like at the hostess station and before you get seated) to make this policy known. Needless to say we enjoyed the evening so much we didn't even realize we stayed pass the 90 mins and tipped nicely. No one bothered us about the time thankfully and I will definitely be returning. A very trendy restaurant in WeHo- beautiful ambiance both indoors and outdoors! We sat outdoors in the patio area and the lights, trees, service, and decor made it such a pleasant dining experience. I loved the salmon curry dish that I got, very perfectly cooked and came with a good portion of vegetables and rice. It is one of those spots where I wish that I'd been more full after the meal for the amount of money I spent, but that's just sort of inevitable at restaurants like this. parking: i chose to do the valet parking based on the other reviews, out of convenience ambiance: i went on a tuesday night at 9:45 pm reservation and everyone was seated outside or the indoor bar. the outside is really pretty with two large trees and string lights around, which is perfect ambiance lighting! food: for 1 appetizer, 2 main courses, and 1 drink the total was around $135,, the portions are not that big so would definitely recommend at least 1 main course per person and perhaps split an appetizer or two! Their patio seating is so cute and I would suggest you get a seat in that area if possible. They had a live band performing here on a Sunday afternoon, which added to the atmosphere. I loved that there were no hidden fees because you see that all the time in LA restaurants nowadays. I was shocked at how much I liked their food! The only downside is that there is a lot of dusty (?) white speckles coming from the tree in the patio area, which got all over my jacket and purse, and probably went on the food which went into my belly. I loved the ambiance at Ysabel, it's definitely a great date spot. Everything that we ordered was amazing. Their rigatoni was probably some of the best rigatoni I've ever had!! I was pleasantly surprised by the kale Caesar salad too, the kale wasn't hard and it was seasoned well. The scallops were pan fried and not fishy at all. It almost had a sweet bite to it. I believe their olive oil cake was a seasonal item on the dessert menu, but I loved it because it wasn't too sweet. Overall I love Ysabel, will definitely be back! The food itself was good, which is the only reason this is not a zero-star review. Unfortunately, Yelp does not allow that option. The service, particularly from management, completely overshadowed what was meant to be a special evening. We came for my birthday dinner with an 8:00 PM reservation. Earlier that evening, we called to let the restaurant know we were running slightly late and were told there was a strict 15-minute grace period and that punctuality was essential. Despite this, we were not seated until roughly 30 minutes after our reservation time. While waiting patiently, I checked in at the host stand around 8:25 to ask for an update and was told that the party at our table had already been seated for over three and a half hours, that there was no way to estimate when they would leave, and that the restaurant was not able to ask them to vacate the table. We were told we would simply have to wait until they chose to get up. This explanation was frustrating on its own, but even more confusing given that I have since read other reviews describing guests being seated late and then told they would need to be finished within a set time window. That inconsistency made the situation feel less like a firm policy and more like selective enforcement. Shortly after, a manager approached me and said, "Anxious to sit down, are we?" This comment felt dismissive and unnecessary, especially given the circumstances and the fact that this was a birthday celebration. As the night continued, additional issues arose. Drinks took approximately 35 minutes to arrive, and one martini was warm and overly diluted. My friend politely asked if it could be remade. Instead of handling this quietly, the situation escalated when management returned to tell my friend that the server felt he had been rude. He immediately apologized and explained that was not his intention. He simply wanted the drink corrected. As the interaction concluded, the manager told my friend that he "hopes he has as lovely a night as he is," which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. After this interaction, our server never returned to check on our table, with no follow-up on drinks, food, or how everything was going. We had ordered a tomahawk steak for the table, requested medium rare leaning more toward medium, and it arrived purple and raw, completely inedible. A second manager, the general manager, later came over and was equally dismissive, doubling down rather than acknowledging the multiple service breakdowns. I have dined here before and previously experienced much better service, which made this evening especially disappointing. The issue was not a single mistake, but the way multiple managers communicated throughout the night. The tone was consistently dismissive and condescending, escalating situations that could have been resolved simply and respectfully. There are many expensive restaurants in Los Angeles where you can spend the same amount of money and be treated with respect, made to feel comfortable, and actually enjoy your night.
