    More bones than meat.

We got so happy the first time we tried the restaurant. We ordered their short ribs bento and were delicious. So we ordered online for delivery the next week. Top was presented well and looks good with nice meat. But after few layers, this is what it looks underneath. Where's the meat that we paid for? Are you trying to feed us bones? We are not dogs.

We have been wanting to try this new spot in Folsom Ranch. First off we were pleasantly surprised at the restaurant style atmosphere with full bar and nice decor and comfortable seating. Servers were very welcoming and friendly. The menu included sushi, bento combinations, ramen, salads and more! There is also patio seating with fire pits. Portions were generous and both chicken entrees were very tasty! We will be back to experience the dinner vibe!

First time eating here and nice to see they are open after hours late (until 11pm) even during the weekdays. Their atmosphere inside is very upscale, modern and clean. They have large tables to accommodate large groups. We ordered a few of the specialty rolls and a couple of the bento box plates. The rolls were priced in the menu at 50% off and they were long with about 8-10 pieces in the roll. Bento box came with a mix of cucumbers, salad, rice and your choice of entry. I got the honey chicken which came with a small spicy sauce. The taste was very good. Price wise the menu was pretty upscale even with the 50% off. Specialty rolls are $20-35/roll minus 50% and bento boxes range from $12-20/box just to give you an idea. Overall, the service and food was good and I would consider going back again to try other dishes.

The hostess was such a sweet guy. I came in at 945. They close at 11. There were about 4 other tables eating. I was greeted, sat and served quickly and the food was absolutely amazing. My son and his gf stopped by as I was finishing my food and the hostess came back by to ask if they wanted any water or anything to eat or drink. I had already ordered food to go but he was so kind in bringing them water. I appreciate the amazing food and extremely kind service.

Been to bento box quite a few times, but have not done a review yet. The inside is very nice with beautiful decor. The servers Seven and Leo are always kind and welcoming with a smile on their face. I've had sushi rolls to bento boxes to the Ramen. Everything comes out spectacular. We don't live far it's a within walking distance so it's a perfect go to spot for lunch or dinner.

Finally, we tried this new-ish place in Folsom. The restaurant is spacious and the staffs are friendly. We came for Sunday lunch and were seated immediately. The sushi roll price is 50% off. - California rolls: good. My kiddo finished it all. - Shrimp tempura rolls: the tempura was crunchy and the sauce was good - Korean fried chicken bowl (spicy): my favorite! The spicy sauce was so good. The chicken was crispy yet the meat inside was tender. They gave lots of chicken pieces. - Tofu hot plate: it was okay and nothing special.

So chewy and the plating? A big insult to Japanese cuisine.

Food - nothing extraordinary. As one review mentioned, the prices are somewhat $5-6$ more -- now that is understandable but the quality sucks. Ordered a calamari (or at least that is what it says on the menu), it was though, so chewy and overcooked that we barely touched it. The bento was also disappointing. Decor / Ambiance - well decorated and clean since it is fairly new. Service - sub par. Given that they have been open for a few months now, it feels like it's still soft opening.

Korean Short Ribs Bento Box & Volcano Roll.

Newly opened about a month or so ago. I first noticed this place as I go to Slice House in the same Folsom Ranch plaza. The restaurant is beautiful, new, and modern. Spacious restaurant with a large bar and also has nice outdoor patio seating with firepits. I've ordered pick-up as well as dined in. On both occasions service was slow but very friendly. I ordered one sushi roll and it didn't come out until I was already half way done eating my bento box! Hopefully that improves with more time being open. I have not been to any of their other Bento Box locations. So for my first time, with the name Bento Box of course I had to order a bento box. I've tried the Korean Short Ribs, Chicken Teriyaki, and Seasame Chicken. Each bento comes with salad, white rice, and cucumber sunomono. I was a bit bummed that it doesn't come with a miso soup too. I also ordered a Volcano Roll. I enjoyed all the food. It was good. I liked the mayonnaisey salad dressing and the sunomono was a nice palate cleanser. The Korean Short Ribs had a great flavor and a good portion. A little chewy but I'd order it again. The Seasame Chicken was tasty and pretty much was Chicken Katsu to me. The Chicken Teriyaki was just okay. I wouldn't get it alone as the only protein choice. Volcano Roll was yummy with a nice super mild spice to it. Portions all very filing. The $16 Lunch Special Combination Bento Box is a great deal. Although I wish each day wasn't a fixed menu choice. Luckily I visited on a Wednesday as the Chicken Teriyaki Seasame Chicken lunch combo sounds the best. A suggestion would be to fix the menu. At first I wasn't going to order a sushi roll because $30 for one roll is outrageous to me. Then later I saw there's a smaller print on top that says 50% off all sushi rolls. I probably missed it because I was immediately drawn to the eye catching photos of the dishes on the menu. Anyways overall not the best I've ever had but is definitely really good for Folsom standard. Also the menu is pretty large so there's still so much more to try!

We tried coming to this new Bento Box on its soft opening, but the timing was wrong. We came back Friday night for dinner and were very pleased with the server, the service, and the very delicious food. For a Friday night this location was still not overly crowded, which for the hubster and I was grand. The interior has a lovely bar area with ample seating and tvs for sports viewing. The dining area has several different configurations to accommodate smaller or larger parties. There is also tv in this area, which I feel is a distraction to the meal and company. Our server truly could not have been nicer as well as making recommendations. We did think it was a bit strange, however, that one Bento Box order arrived in a bento box and the other on a plate. Perhaps they should invest in more? Another small inconvenience is they do not provide free refills on their Shirley Temples. Please note the parking here is tight. The lot was not laid out well. With the other businesses and time of day you may need to park on the other side of the strip mall and then head to the restaurant. However, the good food and service could make up for that in my opinion!

For the first time ever, I did not have a pleasant experience at Bento Box. For some background, I have been going to Bento Box for over a decade. John and his former wife built an amazing restaurant, and the quality of food has always been superb. Today I called in an order and ultimately sat down to experience the restaurant experience. I was initially taken back that they did not want to share the Wi-Fi password with me, but then figured maybe it's just for security purposes. I was then asked if I could pay for my meal first. Which is crazy because I hadn't even received my meal yet. I informed the waitress that I would like to wait until after I eat my meal. Nonetheless, upon receiving my meal, not even two minutes later, I was asked to pay for my bill again. So I paid it. This is when it started to connect. I had decided to sit outside on the porch and the waitress wanted to prop the door open despite it being nearly 90° outside. I am assuming that they thought I was going to dine and dash. Which is upsetting because I was out on the patio working on my laptop. I feel as though I was judged. I'm not dressed down or looking crazy or anything, but something caused them to have caution providing me service. At all times I was respectful and I parked right in the front (not that it should matter, but I was driving a newer Tesla vehicle). I am never one to jump to this conclusion, however, I feel that I was profiled due to my race. That's the only reason I can come up with. It's unfortunate. John and his former wife would never have let customers be treated or feel this way. I'd recommend all African-American families in the Folsom area to have caution visiting this location.

This is a beautiful new location in Folsom. There is a sushi bar, a big square bar with TVs and a huge dining area. The menu is huge with all kinds of Asian choices. They have pages and pages of sushi rolls that are all 50 percent off. Personally, I am not a fan of this, just price the rolls a normal price, but I guess it works for them. My husband had two sushi rolls. They were huge and he had a hard time finishing them. Both were good but he felt they had a bit too much rice. I had a combo bento box with Thai and Korean fried chicken. Both were nice and spicy. The Thai was my favorite. The salad and cucumber were really yummy and I finished them both, and wound up taking half the rice and chicken home and eating it for dinner. Service was a bit slow, understandable since this is a new place. Servers were nice and helpful. All in all I enjoyed it. I don't know if we'd go for sushi but the Bento box was good. A nice addition to the area.

I understand that opening a fairly new restaurant in a new shopping center in Folsom can be expensive. And this restaurant is pretty inside, large and well decorated. More than a casual dining experience but not fine dining. I was a little surprised at the pricing for the rolls. I feel like a majority of the rolls, even the basic ones like the salmon maki, are $5-6 more expensive than other places. A lot of their rolls are between $28-32. Maybe they're larger? Anyways I ordered the Yellowstone roll. I included the picture below. This roll almost cost me $30. It came out looking like a roll i could've gotten at Safeway. It tasted... fine. Covered in a lot of sauce. If you scrape the sauce the pieces aren't thick, not enough to justify the price. I actually spend a lot of money on food. I eat out way too much for a normal person. But if I'm gonna spend close to $30 for one roll that isn't going to fill me up, I want it to be fantastic. Service was warm and friendly.

Americano sushi & mushroom bomb my favorite dishes from the menu. Variety of wine and cocktails on the menu as well. Excellent service. Nice location, I enjoy coming here often.

Unfortunately I am not on social media and that's where you're supposed to find it. Bummer! I decided to use my own password. It worked and we entered the inner sanctum. It was a cool, smallish place with nice decor. The bar was the first thing we saw. I looked around to see a few tables and couches to the left. It was pretty early and there were only a few people there so we got a cozy little table in front of a velvety couch. I went to the bar where a burly tattooed OG bartender greeted me. I ordered an old fashioned and a raspberry lemon drop. My old fashioned was done very well. I'm on an old fashioned kick right now and love to try them at different places that look like they know how to make them. This one was really good. My friend wasn't so keen on her lemon drop, saying the lavender was a bit overpowering. We had another round and this time she had something different that she enjoyed. My second old fashioned was just as good as the first. It was getting later and more people happened to have the password and it was getting crowded. We were done, paid the tab, which wasn't bad considering how most speakeasy's can be pretty pricy. Overall, it was a great experience, the place was nice, friendly, and the drinks were done well. Whether you're celebrating with your spouse, introducing your side piece to "your favorite restaurant," or escaping the responsibilities waiting back at home, this place delivers. Perfect for the guy who suddenly "works late" every night despite having a newborn, and the woman who's somehow convinced herself that personal entertainment outranks being there for her kids. Nothing says romance quite like two people united by spectacularly bad life choices. The staff deserves an award. They somehow keep a straight face while serving appetizers to people whose alibis have more ingredients than the menu. The atmosphere is so relaxing you'll almost forget your phone is one notification away from turning dinner into a public hearing.

Thus cheered, we were seated quickly, even though we arrived without a reservation. Water, bread and menus came quickly. Perusing them to the background mix of contemporary mellow pop (think James Taylor and Van Morrison) and old standards, we decided on the petite prime rib for the carnivore (me) and sea scallops served over risotto for my wife. We each chose flights of wine to accompany our entrees. Despite including three wines per flight, the pours were fairly generous. Our dishes were perfectly prepared and came out more quickly than we expected, considering that the place was almost full. Our server checked back just enough and took care of any special requests promptly, even offering to exchange one of the wines (out of six!) that we didn't like for something better suited to our taste. The pace was leisurely which was fine given the good food and wine accompanied by the relaxed vibe of the live music. And the prices were quite reasonable given the quality of both the food and service. A dark-ish old school atmosphere added to its charm for us Baby Boomers, but even younger diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. As for us, we highly recommend it!

Leading up to the event, Cristen was so helpful in guiding all the details and making sure everything went seamless the night of. She even helped personally ensure the surprise went as planned. The food was delicious, drinks extra special, and the bartenders and staff provided such a fun and engaging experience for our guests. Our guests gave so many compliments, and could not be happier with the space, service and experience.

Enjoyed soccer and the bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. The two flatbreads were more like personal pizzas. Crust was flavorful and thicker than a flatbread which was fine by us. The Cali was LOADED with toppings. The Figueroa was also fantastic. The highlight was the salad. HIGHLY recommend sharing this unless you're extremely hungry. We didn't think we would eat it all, but we honestly couldn't stop. It was lightly dressed, contained a ton of toppings and was probably half a container for mixed greens which was fantastic! If you're more into heavily dressed salads you probably wanna ask for more. Either way, we had a great lunch at an unassuming place. They apparently have a Speak Easy as well which we unfortunately didn't get to experience.
