Was looking for a late night sweet after going to Magic Mountain and found Yum Yum. It was a bit late but we were fortunate that they were making they next days batches so we got some warm fresh ones. We took them to go but the inside was nice with a few seats to have your coffee and donuts. Worth a try for late night snack. read more

Was craving a late night donut & thought I'd give this place a try! Perk is that this location is open 24/7 downside is that the quality is lacking as a result. There was a large variety to choose from, I ended up ordering a glazed donut & an iced glazed chocolate bar. Sadly, both donuts lacked flavor & quality. The donut tasted like stale bread & the icing itself just tasted off. It felt like I was eating a week old stale donut to sum it up. Service was friendly & the store itself was clean. First thank you if you are following me on my quest for the best donut shop in SCV. This week l visited Yum Yum and ordered 3 donuts A crueller Crumb donut Chocolate Roll The server was pleasant and patient with me as the selection was vast and that's a good! The crueller was excellent and par with my favorite from Honey Donuts! I like an eggy taste and bouncy texture that maintains its shape. All boxes checked! However there's one thing that comes to mind...flavors. I wish donuteers would experiment with different ones besides vanilla,strawberry,maple and chocolate. Next the crumb...wow what a pleasant surprise! It was fairly larger than most and crunchy! Most of the time they are soft. The crumb was delicious! Finally the chocolate roll. It just caught my eye so l decided to bring it home. It was a hit with everyone. A beautiful golden brown,the texture was on point and the chocolate was not too sweet. Overall I got the okay to go back for more from my fellows i.e. family. One other thing I would like to mention was the beautiful way they incorporated Hispanic pastries and other Hispanic goods in the store. They all looked fresh and appetizing. I had to cheat on my regular donut shop in town - well it's their fault that they were closed. It was 10:00am and not even a holiday. I figured a big chain like Yum Yum (formerly Winchells) would be open pretty much always. I was right, and thankfully I could get my donut craving under control. I was pleasantly surprised with the full selection of donuts and pastries available. I hate going into donut shops and they have quit making donuts for the day - especially before noon. Well I grabbed a dozen. Good mix. Donuts were pretty fresh. Chocolate old fashioned was on point. The plain was a bit greasy, as was the croissant. Like the napkins were slick and transparent. It's not health food but I prefer them a little lighter on the fried side. Service was friendly and patient as I picked out my supply of fried sugary bread rings. I am extremely disappointed with this location. Everyone I come here past 5pm they claim to always be out of hot chocolate or ham and cheese croissants. This business is open 24/7 so there shouldn't be a reason as to why they should be out every single time I come in. A business that is open 24hrs should be fully stocked always. I Personally believed that The people behind the counter are just lazy and refuse to lift a finger. This is not okay for the business. What is it with doughnut shops not giving you a baker's dozen??? No wonder why these doughnuts suck - bad luck to only give 12 doughnuts! Anywho, came by Sunday morning around 10:30AM, ordered 1 dozen assorted, 1 dozen glazed, and 2 dozen doughnut holes, total about $25 not too bad on price, plus they gave me a free coffee when I ordered it. This is my favorite Yum Yum! Everyone is so sweet, feels like I'm visiting family. I have tried the cheese muffins from various Winchell's/Yum Yums and Newhall has the best ones. Always soft and fresh. The drinks are always good, the sandwiches are delicious and big. Lupe (manager) always goes above and beyond. If you want the freshest donuts 5am is perfect, but I think the baker comes in the afternoon if more donuts are needed. Stale, hard doughnuts. Was there 8am Sunday and the donuts seems like they were made 3 days ago. This has happened to me 3-4 times. Will not be back. This donut shop has been here the longest from the few donut shops in town. I been shopping around and realized that the donuts are made fresh daily and everyday the donuts are thrown away! I don't know why this place has such horrible reviews, it's honestly not that bad. It's pretty clean inside, they have a great selection of donuts, and they have great prices. I usually only come here for late night donut runs with with my Fiance since this place is open 24 hours and I have never had a horrible experience. When I come in at night the person that is working almost never speaks very much English, but they are usually pretty nice. I don't even know anyone can have a bad experience here, you walk in, chose the donuts you want, they get them for you, you pay, and then you leave, I don't know how that can go wrong at all. The only bad thing that has ever happened to me here is getting stale donuts ONCE, which is honestly not a huge deal since it was the middle of the night. I can't expect them to have fresh donuts at 12AM. Oh and I saw another review on here saying that the staff is "unhelpful". What kind of help does someone need picking out a donut? I haven't been inside a donut shop in ages so I decided to go into this donut shop to try out their artery clogging decadents. I got a custard filled donut and this large mat they called a coffee cake. I got home and took a bite out of the donut and it was the usual custard treatment. Then I took a bite out of the coffee cake and I literally chipped a tooth because it had the consistency of a brick. It was so stale and hard I couldn't believe this wasn't a coffee crouton. Furthermore, it lacked all flavors of coffee and rather a bucket load of cinnamon. Are they really that desperate that they need to sell yesterday's pastries?... the world will never know. read more

i walked into this location at about 7:30 pm on a tuesday, i was the only customer in the bakery at this time. the employee didnt look up from her phone when i walked in and cringed at me when i asked for assistance. this was my first time in a yum yum donuts establishment and it will absolutely be my last. when i asked if the number of calories listed next to the donut holes applies to one or 6 donuts the employee raised her eyebrows and gave me an angry stare as she shrugged her shoulders. do you guys even train your employees???? she didnt open her mouth once to say a single word, instead she literally made me so uncomfortable i had to leave. most uninviting donut spot i have ever walked into. i barely ever buy donuts but this experience made me never want to buy donuts. read more

I used to go get Yum Yum donuts when I was in high school and they were good. I saw the yum yum donuts to bring me back to my childhood days and wanted to have their cronut. We went inside and saw the donuts out on display. We asked the lady some questions like what type of filling these donuts have. She was grumpy and rude and seemed she hated her job. She had an angry face not so good in a customer oriented environment. However she should apply to the DMV that would be the perfect job for her. They did not have the cronut but had the bubblegum donut so we ordered that, carrot muffin and custard donut. The donuts were dry and hard like they were a day old. The glaze tasted like bubblegum which was the only plus side. I asked Sally why she had the knife and she said well I just want the creme inside just like the donut and muffin it was dry. Overall I wish I read the reviews earlier instead I went with my childhood memories. Terrible service with a horrific donut so just stay away. Very horrible customer service. Went in to get donuts for my kids and long line. 2 people working an older gentleman and lady. The customer in front of me wanted to pay with a 100.00 and lady started yelling at customer that she couldn't pay with it. The customer stormed out mad. I was next and same lady was extremely rude to me, she had an attitude. I asked the gentleman what her name he said Lupe. If she can't handle customers maybe she should work somewhere else. We came in around 1am so the donuts were not fresh. Some were a bit on the oily side. But this is expected when you come in so late. However I gave it four stars because of the customer service. The old man working there is just the sweetest! How can anyone be mad at that guy? He can barely speak English and is very quiet, but he completely understands what you're saying. I guess some people just get nervous around immigrants and take their actions as being rude. We ordered a dozen and while we weren't looking he snuck in a couple more to fill the box. We got a couple of drinks as well. We only paid $20 for it all, and after figuring out he gave us extra donuts for free we went back in to give him a tip so we didn't underpay him. read more

Then the guy told us there wasn't paper in the machine so I had to scramble up all of my cash because I couldn't use my card.
