I just ordered this from Uber eats and the food was disgusting. I ordered the pad Thai the noodles were mushy and the beef was extremely tough and over cooked. I would definitely not recommend. I love the people at this restaurant. My parents own a small restaurant like this so this place brings back the nolstagic feeling of eating at home for me. I would give it a five star for the people alone. Sure, some may think the decor could use updating but I think that adds to the charm. I ordered the basil squid and my husband got the Massaman curry. Both were great and came out pretty quickly. This restaurant is located in the corner within a plaza off of Lawrenceville Hwy. If you know where the Grecian Gyro is located then that's the plaza I'm speaking of. Each entree was about $7. Both entrees tasted delicious. Although they were tasty, I noticed that there weren't a lot of chicken added. There were a lot of belle peppers and other vegetables. The portion was fairly smaller compared to other Thai places I have been to considering the price. Overall, not too shabby. So the restaurant is no longer with the same owners of 20 years plus. I went into the restaurant to order a Pad Tai to go. There was one couple in the restaurant 8:30pm. The noodles were very overdone and dry. Dry with their spice sauce! Why? They had precooked the noodles. That's nothing new. But they prepared it with the sauce on. Then let it sit. Thus what usually is slippery noodles, slippery with sauce, became too sticky. Too sticky to swallow with texture of dough.and noodles.. Also my meal was not very hot, very luke considering nice and sealed within 5min drive. (Nice to-go boxes) Could it have been prepared for another order, not fresh? (I got some left overs?) I called the restaurant to report the incident. The lady who took my order kept apologizing repeatedly but made no offer to replace it. No offer. She was nice. So recalling my dinner unfinished: vegetables not fresh (no crunch, also precooked who knows when), undercooked carrots. The cook should have noticed these factors. What else are they cutting corners on?. Whatever is convenient to push the order out? No personal review. No quality. Unfortunately, the food still tastes like it was made in 2001. We came here with good intentions on finding a place to match Beefstix, so we ordered a similar meal. The Spicy Spaghetti and Pork Fried Rice. Before our meal arrived, we got water refills, 3 mins later another water refill. I can honestly say we had our water refilled 20 times, i raised my hand and told him it wont be necessary after awhile because i didn't even drink anything. they brought us this large helping of rice, which you can never have enough of at most asian places. Regardless our food hadn't arrived, we were hungry enough that we just ate plain rice. the lady there pointed out that the rice didn't come with the meal and took it away. We asked her to leave it and she took it anyway; how rude! The meal was very very dry. I tried eating it but just couldn't get the flavor. I had to say something and asked if i could get anything to make the dish more moist. they added a sauce to it which i will admit was very good but it was the only way I could finish my meal. the spaghetti was also less than it could have been and lacked the spicy that Spicy Spaghetti should have. You'll find Yum Yum Thai in the same shopping center as the newly moved Handy Hardware. The food here is solid with fresh ingredients and a good mix of flavors. They'll also accommodate you if you're looking for some extra heat. Service is excellent (I've only eaten there for lunch). I'm not sure how busy they are for dinner. In any case, it's nice to have some variation in Tucker, especially on the spicy side. The food is more in the 3.5/5 range but I'm rounding up because I like the people here so much. Nick and Nat run a nice place here amid the debris of an old strip mall (yes- its pretty bleak on this stretch of L'Ville Hwy.) Remember- Thai people like it REALLLY HOT, so "mild" is your friend here. I LOVE the Spicy Basil Catfish- as about the whole fish entrees- Nick does amazing things off the menu and always worth asking about. Their Tom Ka Gai is the best as are the salads- (Yum means salad in Thai) Mom loves the Red Curry with Tofu- she's always generous- but NOT with this- "Get your own!" Pat will eat pretty much anything on the menu and finds a new fav each time. They've since moved away from ATL but Nat always asks about them. I got Basil Beef Fried Rice and it was decent, not a lot of flavor. They do have a spice rack so make sure you ask for that to get some more flavor in there. Also got the dumplings which were decent. Nothing special here! My friend got the Panang curry which was terrible, a disgrace to the actual dish and what it should taste like. This restaurant is near my work place and one of my old coworkers had shown me this spot. I've been here a couple times and every visit never disappointed me. The chef/owner is the sweetest lady! She greets EVERYONE with a beaming smile and if you've been there more than once she'll remember you. They're struggling. We had some issues communicating our takeout order on the phone, and had to clarify upon arriving at the restaurant. We ordered Thai flavored chicken wings, masaman curry, and glass noodles with chicken. The meat tasted super off in the glass noodle dish. The masaman curry was very authentic and tasted similar to what we have had in Bangkok. The Thai chicken wings fell very short. They were not flavored at all and barely had any spices. The fabric in the booth seating needs badly to be changed but otherwise the setting is pleasant, if dated and uninspiring. My wife's green curry was very good, with a plentiful supply of tasty fresh vegetables. My pad Thai, however, was rather disappointing in flavor and texture, both. The tofu seemed fried in very old oil and had a rather unpleasant taste. The green onions didn't seem so fresh, and the same was true on my solo repeat visit a few days later. The highlight of our visit was our server, Jenny, a delightful and responsive young lady with a ready and sincere smile. I'd return to try the green curry again and to visit with Jenny. My favorites are the Red Curry (I get w/ Chicken), the Tom Ka Gha soup, and the springrolls. Just perfect. I agree with the other reviewers, it's not the fanciest, most exotic Thai food by any means, but I know what I'm going to get will knock my socks off everytime.
