Yumami is very delicious and healthy! Our family loves this place! The staff is super nice! They have tables outside so one can enjoy their dish out there if wanted, very nice atmosphere. My favorite dish is the pork loin & rice with baby bok choy and the green drink!

It's somehow every time I come to Bakersfield that I start craving Asian food. Thankfully, there…read moreare some decent options and new ones that continue to pop up throughout the city. I was craving pho and decided to give Saigon Bento a try. It's a little confusing because there's a Saigon restaurant and then there's this place, Saigon Bento. There's also a Saigon Bento #2. Apparently Saigon restaurant has been around for forever and is highly recommended, but was much farther, so I decided to come here instead. I honestly just like the meatballs in my pho and they were able to accommodate just this instead of their other preset dishes. It was good and packaged well for takeout! It was ready super quickly!

Let's start with the pho, since that's technically what's advertised: the noodles here have given…read moreup on life before they even reach your bowl. Somewhere between the kitchen and the table they experience a full existential crisis and dissolve into a noodle-flavored fog. You don't eat this pho so much as you drink it with regret. Then there's the robot. I want to be clear: the robot is trying its best. But a robot is not a coworker, it's a Roomba with delusions of grandeur, and pairing it with exactly one (1) visibly overwhelmed human does not equal "efficient staffing," it equals "understaffed with extra steps." I've seen this establishment's entire org chart and it's one guy and a trash can with wheels. The Vietnamese coffee and salted cold foam, though? Genuinely incredible. Immaculate. The only reason my card has ever been charged here more than once. I racked up a small fortune in reward points on the strength of that coffee alone -- and then went to redeem them, only to discover the website has apparently also fallen into a noodle-textured crisis and is completely down. So now I have points sitting there like Monopoly money for a bank that closed. Great coffee. Great foam. Genuinely inspired idea for a business. Just... catastrophically executed, like someone had a beautiful vision of a pho franchise and then handed the keys to a single tired employee and his robot intern. America needs a real pho franchise. This is not it.

They offer Thai dishes including noodle bowls, small plates, and handmade dumplings. We got the Northern Thailand Curry Noodles "Khao Soi" and the Tom Yum Noodles. The Khao Soi had egg noodles and chicken in a curry base broth with coconut milk, fish sauce, pickled mustard greens, cilantro, green onions, and housemade chili oil. They also give you crispy egg noodles to put on top. I appreciated that they wrapped this separately in foil, so they didn't get soggy right away! The chicken pieces were quite large, but overall the broth was tasty! I enjoyed the Tom Yum Noodles! For these, they use flat wheat noodles with Thai chili paste, bunashimeji mushrooms, white button mushrooms, fish sauce, red jalapeño, galangal herb, makrut lime leaves, lemongrass, cherry tomatoes, and cilantro. I chose chicken for my protein. The tom yum flavor really came through! They also give a pretty big portion! Since they are located in a food hall, you can sit at any of the tables. Empty Bowl will give you a pager, so you know when to return to the counter to pick up your food.

If you are craving great, authentic Thai food, give Bangkok Street Food a try. The restaurant is not big, maybe roughly 12 tables. Service is great and waitstaff check up on you periodically. Here's what we ordered, everything is served "family style" so plenty for sharing. 1. Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao) $15.95? Spicy, stir-fried flat rice noodles with your choice of meat (we picked chicken and beef & pork are available for an additional fee) chili, garlic, basil, onion, bell pepper, carrot and tomato. You can pick your level of spicy and we went with spicy. 5/5 2. Crying Tiger $18.95, Thai style grilled beef. Served medium rare with spicy tamarind sauce. This was definitely my favorite. The meat was tender with a bit of fattiness, oh so good. 5/5 3. Thai Boat Noodle Soup $16.95, a savory herbal broth with pork rinds, beansprouts, Chinese broccoli, choice of noodles and choice of beef or pork, topped with fried garlic, green onion, and cilantro. The broth was a bit on the saltier side for me. But overall a great, savory soup. 4/5 I look forward to additional visits because there are so many more dishes that I want to try.
