Highly recommend the shrimp fried rice. Friendly staff, tasty food, but slow service. Will be returning!

Not too happy about the customer service here. The staff was not very friendly at all infact they were rude enough to ask if we had payed for our take out before handing us the food and insisted to see our receipt even though he physically ran our card on the machine. My family and I ate here several times. The food didn't taste consistent and I think it has to do with who was the chef in the kitchen. The first 3 times we ate there, the meals were delicious as the ingredients were fresh (broccoli was brightly green). I didn't have that after taste Chinese food. BUT the 4th time we went there (several weeks ago), the meals tasted horrible. The chef totally killed the meat (again) while he cooked it in the sauce. Broccoli looked yellowish. I could tell that this was not the same chef that cooked for us 3 previous times. The service was ok. One waitress seemed odd... like she had problem processing what we asked her. The other waitress was much quicker and better service. Of course, there was that charge for everything. We were never charged for extra jasmine rice when we ate at the other Asian restaurants. This one charged for everything but water and fortune cookies. I'd eat here again but I'd have to chance that THE chef we like is working that day. I'll have to ask for his name next time we are there. read more

I have been frequenting Yumi Cafe, off and on since they have opened. When they first opened, my family was so excited to have a quaint Asian cafe very close to home. However, for the last few times, the service has gradually become worse. We dined in this evening and it was hot and stuffy in there, no a/c was turned on or either way up to where I was uncomfortable. From my personal experience with Chinese Cafes across Houston, when comparing the price with the quantity, it is expensive Chinese food. Then, I went to the restroom and noticed a big sign stating " exployees must was hands before returning to work". NICE, however the soap dispenser was completely dry as a bone. I would of really been scared, if I had seen a sign saying "hand wrapped egg rolls. I hate giving negative reviews, but I felt I should post this for viewers to read before making their choice. read more

After a customer left his water glass on the table with the lemon, one of the guys that worked there took the lemon from the table and added it back to the lemon bucket to serve it to another customer. This is the most unsanitary thing. Unbelievable that a restaurant worker would re-use lemon that had been previously served to a customer. I would not eat at this restaurant because if they would do this, what are they doing in the back with your food. I wish I could give them something less than a 1 star. read more

I used Yumi to cater my 50th birthday party. All I can say is Wow. The food was affordable, fresh, hot, and delicious. It was delivered at the exact time we agreed upon and the amount of meats in the dishes was tremendous. He threw in a box of fortune cookies to help with the decorations. I would highly recommend them for parties or just dinner. NO grease, NO msg, but lots of fresh delicious food !!! read more

I've ordered delivery once, dined in twice, and had take out this evening (convenient location). Food has come out piping hot every time even with take out and delivery which is great. I've tried Sesame Beef, Happy Family, Mei Fun-Combo, Moo Shu Pork, Orange Chicken, Egg Foo Young and Lo Mein-Chicken. All were pretty good especially the Sesame Beef and Mei Fun noodles which I've ordered multiple times. The Lo Mein was too heavy on the ginger flavor for my taste. Wish they didn't charge extra for brown rice but I pay the upcharge to get what's wanted. In dining service has been good, fast and courteous. Delicious Chinese take-out at a reasonable price. It may be a little more than what you would pay for at other Chinese take-outs around here, but this is the best in the area. Their chicken fried rice entrée is absolutely delicious. Most of the Chinese restaurants around here just fry the rice with a little soy sauce and call it fried rice. This one had actual chunks of chicken and chopped veggies and was pretty flavorful. Friendly, customer service as well. I just wish they delivered to the grand mission development, but I don't mind making the short trip out there for quality Chinese take-out. read more

Usually don't post or complain about someone that fixes my food but tonight my family was disgusted. My sons beef with broccoli had a maggot in it that was found htowards the halfway point of our meal. we threw everything away because didn't want to think about what else we might find. When I talked to the owner he asked if I wanted a credit, I said hell no cause wasn't planning on eating from here again. We'd eaten here plenty of times but didn't like the way the situation was handled so wanted something else. He offered $15 back off a $75 tab, didn't think that was enough so told him to keep the money. It's more about principle. read more

Dine-in, carry-out, delivery: it's all good! The service when you dine-in is beyond excellent. They try very hard to please. The fried dumplings are better than anywhere else, the wontons just what you'd expect. read more

This is the best Chinese food I've ever had. I'm very picky when it comes to Chinese food but this is the BEST! The food came out shortly after I ordered and The flavors are amazing. My review from their FB was removed, so I will resubmit here. I ate there a few days ago, ordered the lunch special, which included soup. When served, it was at room temperature. Two other customers also complained about the temperature and sent it back. I asked for crispy noodles. I observed the server reach into a container with his bare, unwashed hands grabbing handfuls of them, placing on a plate and brought it to me. Eeewww! Had to leave at this point. Washing of the hands and keeping food at proper temperatures is the most elementary rule of food handling. I won't be returning. read more

Good food and low prices; especially if you chose the special menu before 4 pm. Attention is good also, and fast service.

The food was very good. Much better than other restaurants in the area. We have dined in and carried out and both time we have great service. Our waiter was great and refilled our drinks before they were empty and with my husband that is a feat. We will definitely be going back again! read more
