The interior is not so inviting and lacks decor. The owner is not so friendly or inviting. Meat Jhun plate: two scoops of rice (not full scoops), a scoop of Mac salad, 'small' side of chap chae, and shredded radish. And I do mean small portion. I think if they added an additional side that would be an added substance, like sweet potato, bean sprout or cucumber kimchee. Meat Jhun, tender generous sized beef marinated and battered with egg. The meat pieces were semi battered, with some lacking batter. However, the meat was well flavored, so it made up for it. Chicken Katsu plate: again the same lacking rice scoops and Mac salad and sides. Oh, the Mac salad; on point. It was well flavored and just the right amount of mayonnaise. It reminded me of Hawaiian plates lunches from Hawaii. Chicken Katsu, generous portions of chicken. Battered and cooked just right. Not too dried, yet slightly juicy. You know the chicken wasn't sitting for hours or old and it was somewhat fried fresh. The batter and chicken were seasoned just right, with the accompanying Katsu sauce. I will definitely be back to review the other items on the menu. I would have given it four stars if they added an additional side to the plate. This place is so good! Located right next to IKEA, this hidden gem is my new favorite Hawaiian spot. We ordered the loco moco, bbq chicken (basically teriyaki chicken beware but I knew that), and the garlic fried chicken. The garlic fried chicken was probably my favorite dish of all. All the chicken was bone in and it was coated with their delicious soy sauce-garlic emulsion. All dishes are paired with around 3 sides (Korean ban Chan style) such as the Korean braised potatoes, mac salad, two small scoops of rice and yam noodles in sesame oil. The garlic chicken was good, but the meat jun lacked flavor, as well as the Mac salad and noodles. It tasted like they don't use best foods and they didn't add any salt or pepper and the Mac was under cooked. The noodles and meat jun like I said, had little to no flavor. It's hard to find certain dishes from back home but I was lucky enough to find this little restaurant that had meat Jun! It's something I crave and miss from home. The portions are really big and it matches its big price tag as well. I haven't tried too much of the other dishes but my partner has and he said it's good for the most part. I never usually buy Korean food because I know how to cook at home. These menu items are things that I usually get at Korean BBQ, but they're arguably EVEN BETTER than the average Korean BBQ restaurant. The staff is amazingly kind and the food is made fairly quickly. I definitely think that the best are Meat Jun, Kalbi, the Garlic Chicken, and the BBQ Chicken. If you love kimchi, the Kimchi Fried rice is so indulgent with butter, kimchi, pork belly, and spam just wafting and THE PORTIONS. Their Mac salad is their unsung hero, and the best deal is their Poke!!!! All of their Poke is so well seasoned and they add small chunks of cucumber in it to keep the texture fresh. I was looking to try Korean fried chicken since I have never had it before and it was great but since it was my first time having Korean fried chicken I am not sure how to rank it and a downside to it for me was it was listed as "spicy" but it had no heat to it what so ever. Sides accompanied were delicious. Each plate came with fresh steamed rice, japchae, tasty Mac salad, and a ban Chan style korean side. One plate had sweet potato and the other spicy radish, they were both an added surprise and very tasty. Price was 11 and 12 bucks a plate, way worth it and great value for quality. I wish I lived closer, I would frequent this place all the time. In future I will make the drive from Seattle to come get this food. Want to try so many more dishes. I also ordered the kimchi fried rice, which came with two eggs cooked over hard, and a side of kimchi. The prices were very reasonable for the serving size. The kimchi fried rice was enough for four people! The side of kimchi was some of the best restaurant kimchi I've had. My least favorite was the katsu, which was overcooked. I loved the Mac salad and glass noodles (japchae) that came with the katsu. The kimchi fried rice had small chunks of spam and pork belly, which were both unexpected. I typically don't like pork belly in fried rice, but I think frying the rice in it probably lent it a lot follow flavor. I'm definitely up for trying this place again soon! I relocated to Seattle from Hawaii a few years ago, and haven't found anywhere that does Hawaii food right. That was until we tried Yummy Kitchen this week. We ordered the Meat Jun, Kailbi Plate, and Garlic chicken. The food was absolutely spectacular. We have not been able to find Meat Jun anywhere here, so we were thrilled to have an option so close to home. The garlic chicken is the best thing I've tried so far. It's flavorful and crispy. The only thing I didn't care for was the Mac salad. I'm not sure what kind of mayo is used to make it but it just tasoff. All plates come with shoyu potatoes and kimchi, which were excellent. We will be retiring to Yummy Kit hen again soon! I hope the mac salad improves over time. read more

This place wasn't too bad! My husband and I are from Hawai'i so we are always on the lookout for food from home. We heard about this place from our Hawaiians in Washington FB Group. We were kind of expecting the same taste as Yummy's and Tasty's Korean BBQ back home, since a few said that's what it was like, but it wasn't the same. The meat jun was decent per my husband but not the same. My Korean chicken was really more traditional Korean style which isn't bad, just not what I was expecting. Overall, wasn't too bad.
