Red Apple Cafe has always been one of my recommendations to friends and family looking for a good…read morebreakfast in town. I've been a few times, and I remember going for the first time about 9 years ago. I remember peering off of Herndon and what a cute red building that looks awfully busy and had a gravel parking lot. Back then it felt very hard to eat here, you had to get here early before the lot filled which obviously means the food is good. Today we were met with kind service and were immediately sat in the out door seating. Which we didn't mind because it was fresh. All the staff members were incredibly kind to me, and I really appreciated the nice compliments and overall vibe this establishment offers Breakfast menu is both American and Mexican inspired which is a plus for this bilingual gal, We stared off with a Mermaid Mimosa for the birthday boy and a Bloody Mary for me. Red Apple gets straight to business as I'd say their drinks are worth the price as they are poured well. I'm a Benedict girl, I went ahead and ordered the smoked salmon Benedict which came with some flavor potatoes. The bene was 10/10 I felt I could really taste a high quality salmon and the egg was perfectly poached. Birthday boy ate the Country fried steak at my recommendation. Pared with potatoes and pancakes. It's safe to say the plates were left cleared. Overall I've never been disappointed here and I'm happy to say my guest enjoyed it for their first time as well. There's a reason that parking lot stays busy

First time trying this place, so I wasn't really sure what to expect other than the reviews saying…read morethe food was good. Well, the food definitely exceeded the reviews. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and stayed fresh even after picking it up and bringing it back to our room, as we were in town for the weekend. I can only speak to the service being exceptional, both over the phone when taking my order and in person when I went to pick it up. I would imagine the tableside service is at the same level. I'll definitely be back to experience the atmosphere inside and have another go-round at the menu.

The country potatoes were cooked perfectly and a little crisp, just the way I like them. Our server never let our drinks get low, loved the personal attention. The decor is Fresno nostalgia with a model train that runs on a track high above. Great food, great staff!

The service was fast, the outdoor sign in sheet is only when it's busy so peek in to check it out and just walk in when it's not crowded. We went after brunch so seats were open. Everything was decked out with train decor. My bf was craving some biscuits and gravy so he wanted it from there, it was my first time so I wanted to try as well. We share a breakfast combo which includes 2 eggs I chose overeasy, 2 meats either bacon sausage link or patty, country potatoes or hash browns, 2 biscuits and gravy and I added sour dough toast. The biscuit and gravy are definitely home made. The biscuits weren't perfect they were odd shaped like a dome and the gravy was smooth and creamy not too thick or clumpy. I would definitely come back to try a different style breakfast combo with scrambled eggs, hash brown and bacon

Gotta love their motto: "Every plate is made with love, and every customer is treated like family." I've had the pleasure of meeting Teresa on a few occasions and chatting a bit. She is just so genuine and earnest. I always look forward to seeing her and chatting if she has the time. Each time we are in the area (usually to visit Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks) we make sure to stop in. This visit we managed to come in twice! Yay! Just love the working model train set perched overhead in both eating areas. If it's not running, just ask your server and they will turn it on. First visit I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas (comes with refried beans, rice, chips and salsa) along with a nice refreshing beer. Second visit I ordered the Trainwreck breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bell peppers, onions, tortilla chips, jack and cheddar cheese. Plus choice of two meats and two additional vegetables.) with biscuit and gravy. I choose two types of sausage, zucchini and avocado. Oh and an ice cold beer of course. Both meals were fresh and delicious. No matter what I order here I always know it will be tasty and well balanced. Service is always friendly, helpful and courteous! If I lived closer I would definitely stop by more often!

The fajitas were overcooked, and the enchilada was topped with what tasted more like gravy than enchilada sauce, which was really strange. The kids' mac and cheese looked and tasted like something straight from a box. Service was okay, although a little slow. We haven't tried breakfast, so maybe that's where they shine, but based on our lunch and dinner experiences, I don't think we'd go back.
