Beef banh mi. Hand for scale!
Amaury J.

Phenomenal. We were visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this hole in the wall of a restaurant while walking around, and I'm so glad that we stopped here for dinner! This place is a gem. Let me start by saying that this is not a fancy spot at all. You have to order at a counter, there's limited seating, and I don't even think they have a bathroom (although they do have a sink in the dining area for you to wash your hands, which I appreciated). I felt like I was walking into a grandma's dining room -- it felt special. The menu was extensive, and they also had specials. Everything was beyond affordable AND delicious. $28 got us the most giant (beef) banh mi I've ever seen, and the biggest portion of drunken noodle. I had to take some home, and I have quite the appetite! The banh mi was delicious. The bread was crunchy, and it was huge. You definitely get your money's worth and then some! The veggie drunken noodles came with a heaping amount of tofu, but it lacked some flavor -- still, a solid and delicious meal. If you're in Philly and looking for fresh, yummy, and CHEAP Asian food away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is your spot.

Yummy Pho is my favorite place in the world. I come here at least twice a week. It's the best Pho I have ever had. Feeling sad? Yummy Pho. Feeling happy? Yummy Pho. Hungover? Yummy Pho. Yummy Pho is the answer to all of my problems. The owner is beyond kind and welcoming. I have never had a bad meal or experience there (and yes I have tried more than just the Pho but it's my favorite). They know my order and are always so nice. I get excited to see them and will miss them so much when I'm no longer just around the corner. If you're looking to support a small business please let it be this one, no one is more deserving. I LOVE YUMMY PHO!!!

The best pho I have ever had! I attended Temple University and loved to come here as a student. After four years of being away from campus I was eager to go back and see if the pho was as good as I remember and I'm so glad it was. The service is great. It is a little small inside but it's worth it.

So so good. The Pho is flavorful, comforting, and worth the price with the portion sizes. I've only ever gotten takeout so I can't speak to the experience of eating in (the space inside is small), but I will definitely be getting food from here again.

The place has a nice ambiance. A hole in the wall spot that provides nice service and delicious food in large portions.

Came to this restaurant today, very friendly people. Very clean, food was fantastic. We will be back. You gotta pay attention the restaurant is kinda hidden. But come you won't regret it.

There is a reason this place is called yummy pho!! The food came out very hot with lots of flavor. I also ordered the Vietnamese coffee with boba 10/10 very rich coffee. The staff was very nice and very fast. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

P9. Pho with rare steak and beef meatball

Really good food, fast service. Ambiance is nice if you like a more quiet setting. As a temple student, this place is perfect for how close it is and the food feels homemade.

This is the last pho place on campus after pho ha closed down. I was excited to try this place. It's very small inside and it got very hot and smoky. There's a couple seats to dine in, and there's also a park bench outside. I ordered a grilled chicken Banh mi and I was highly disappointed. The baguette wasn't a baguette, it tasted and felt like old hoagie bread. The grilled chicken was charred and made the sandwich very, very dry. My friend also had the bubble tea and he said that it was basically lots of sugar and water. Unfortunately, I won't be trying this place again.

The biggest surprise was the tái (eye-round steak), yet still retaining that pleasantly chewy texture of undercooked beef; the gầu (fat brisket) was thick and crisp, fragrant but not greasy--who would have thought I'd find brisket fat here? This showed the restaurant's precise control over the broth temperature and the thickness of the beef. Almost all phở restaurants claim to offer authentic raw beef or various cuts of beef, but very few can truly make customers feel the difference. The restaurant's decor is simple but spacious and clean; the service is average, but very efficient. Efficiency is essential for phở, otherwise the beef would be overcooked in the hot broth. After all, the essence of a restaurant is food, and for such affordable ones, it's gratifying to see them spend most of their costs on the food itself.
