Pine Garden Magic China is a small Chinese takeout spot in a large plaza with a Lowe's, BJ's Wholesale, Dollar Tree and it sits right next to the Goodwill. The staff are efficient, nice and the dishes are hot and tasty. We found Pine Garden Magic China to be open and busy on Christmas Day and the multiple entrees and appetizers we ordered came out quick. Everything was well packaged to prevent spills and many items were in reusable containers. This was my first time trying this establishment and I will be returning. read more

I honestly have not been here for years and tonight when Chinese was the general request, I thought it would be a good time to try it again. Walking in, it was as I remember it. There were a few people waiting, but the good came out pretty fast. My order that I called in was ready in about fifteen minutes. I ordered the curry chicken combination dinner and honestly it was not that good. I will say that many otherwise fine Chinese restaurants seem to have no idea on how to make this dish. My son had the General Tso's combination dinner and his was not bad. I had a hot and sour soup and that and the spring roll were pretty good. The portions were pretty generous and the price was good. Especially with all of the exciting asian restaurants coming into Waterford, this spot just doesn't stand out enough. We ordered General Tso's chicken and Sesame Chicken for delivery. They were the exact same thing except one had sesame seeds on it. That would have been fine, I guess, had either one tasted good. For a Chinese take out varies between 3 and 4 stars. Nice lady takes your order. They have a few tables you can eat your take out order at. Daily lunch special good price but only egg roll or soup so they made my order combination which added soup but charged me $5 more just for adding the soup. Would have been a lot less if I just ordered lunch special and small soup on the side. Egg drop soup very good. They finally learned not to put too much salt in it. I would rate it five star. Nice big pieces of egg and nice consistency. Egg roll a 4 star. Closest thing to a NY egg roll I have had. Crust perfect thickness and crisp. Filling just ok. Could use bigger pieces in filling. Pork Egg foo yung 4 Star. Again closest to NY version in Orlando. Gravy perfect. Patties a bit too greasy. Otherwise very nice ingredients. Fried rice only three star. I've had some good, I've had some not so good. So the consistency here is off which means it is coming off the list. I started with the hot and sour soup. Flavor is good. But it doesn't have much in it. It's very empty. You know? A few small pieces of tofu. Almost no bamboo shoots. No mushrooms. Some egg ribbons. And I ordered at 4pm on a Monday so it's not like they are scraping the bottom of the bowl at 10pm. Disappointing. They don't have wonton soup. They have egg drop soup with wontons. It tastes good but my wife wants regular wonton. Why no wonton? They have spring rolls not egg rolls. I thought they were good. Wife didn't like them. I get vegetable lo mein. It's exactly what I expect. A little greasy. But good noodles and enough veg in it. Perfect for take out. My wife gets tofu with mixed veg. It's over corn starched. No sauce. Just gloop. No sauce for the rice. And everything is sticky. Could have been good with much less corn starch. Just a bad fire by the cook. I can't recall what i had but I've had other meals that were good here. Pine Garden has been my go-to takeout place since I moved to Orlando in 2017. Their lunch special cannot be beat (combo, soup, egg roll for $6-$7). Their orange chicken is also reeeeeaaaallllyy good. Their sauce is tangy but sweet and i love their egg rolls. I tried their honey chicken in the past but thought it was a little crunchy for my taste. I've finally done it. I found a Chinese cuisine place that I LOVE. I always crave Chinese food, then get it, then feel gross and regret it... but this place.... this place made me regret not getting MORE FOOD . Their food actually tasted fresh and delicious. Their crab Rangoon actually tasted like fresh crab in there, unlike most places where you can barely taste the crab at all. Their wonton soup tasted so delicious, I couldn't stop drinking it! The soup broth itself tasted like quality Even their egg roll tasted soft and fresh! I also got their sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was fried to perfection and the sauce was nice and not too overpowering. It was soft juicy chicken on the inside and a savory fry crunch on the outside . Been searching for my go-to spot, and I think I may have found it! I've been disappointed by the majority of the Chinese Food in the area, so I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good this place was! My food was PIPING hot when it arrived, and everything was basically exactly as it should be. Fried items were crispy and light, the meals tasted fresh and flavorful. MVP was the dumplings - wow! I'll be dreaming about those. Huge portions and overall very tasty. My only negative was that, I ordered online through BeyondMenu and left a nice tip to the driver on my card. When he dropped it off, he had a rather crestfallen look on his face when I thanked him and didn't hand him any cash - did he not know about the tip? Should I have specified that? The attached receipt didn't specify the tip, so I just hope the restaurant is not stiffing the drivers on their tip or anything. read more

It's not the same Pine Garden from the last few years! I never had a problem with food from Pine Garden. Since they moved from next to the theater in Waterford Lakes, the quality has plummeted from stellar Chinese food to the same mediocre stuff found at every ghetto NY style Chinese joint. The 4 meat fried rice is no longer very tasty. The chicken and beef dishes lost their luster and taste of freshness. I don't even think it's really the same place at all! To me, the original Pine Garden probably went out of business due to skyrocketing rents in Waterford Lakes... and this Magic China place next to BJs Warehouse, which oddly has been in business at that very same location for many years... has somehow grabbed the Pine Garden name, now that it's no longer taken... and is using the name to drum up more business under the guise of another restaurant that sadly died like a shining star!! If this is the case, it is a grimy and shady tactic. Either way, I will not be eating food from here ever again. I'd rather drive 6 miles to Chuan Lu restaurant next to Mills on E. This is our first time using this restaurant for take out. Everything was perfect as ordered. My Szechuan chicken was extra spicy as requested. My wife's lo mein noodles were better than expected compared to other restaurants. The hot and sour soup was just as ordered. Everything was good and very generous servings. The egg rolls were very very hot still when we got home. We always joke about them always saying 10 minutes for your order to be ready and this was accurate. I live in this area for a long time and I have been going to this location for a long time. I order a four combo fried rice. Once I got home there was egg shells all in my food. Every bite was a crunch. I told the gentlemen who was at the register at the time about my food situation. He then said that's normal and they can't help that the fact that happens. Then he said they can remake it for the same amount of portion. I told him I had to drive all the way back for that excuse and no accommodations for there own mistakes. We were excited to see duck was on the menu in this suburban Chinese restaurant when we were visiting our daughter from out of town, so we thought we'd give them a try. When I was picking up the order I tried to claim the 10% off per Yelp, but was told something about I had to pay by some other service to get the discount. Seems like the business itself would want to honor the offer instead of giving some outside service a cut; and also, try to satisfy a customer that was there to patronize them. We ordered Mu Shu Pork, which was ok, Beef Chow Fun, which consisted of dried noodles instead of fresh and had no wok taste, disappointing, Orange Beef, which the sauce and coating on the meat was decent but the beef was so thin you couldn't taste meat, only coating and the Peking Duck was dark and old. My wife is from the San Francisco Bay Area and my family ran a Chinese restaurant for over 57 years, and we are both Chinese, so we know good Chinese food and were less than impressed by Pine Garden. BEWARE ordering online via their direct website...it is run by a 3rd party vendor called Sky Tab (aka. Shift4 Payments) & your customized tip will magically get bumped up to higher amount AFTER you've made your purchase - you only find out about the higher tip charged to your card when you receive your receipt via e-mail... When you call the restaurant, they tell you to call Sky Tab...when you call Sky Tab (which, by the way, I was placed on hold for 30 minutes before I could speak w/a representative), they tell you to call the restaurant...classic case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing... Otherwise, food is on par & slightly better than what you would expect from typical take-out Chinese joints... People answering the phone at the restaurant are always courteous... I received a flyer in the mail from "Pine Garden Chinese Cuisine" and left it on the counter for my wife since we are always looking for new places to try. Well tonight she was in the mood for Chinese so I looked off we went. When we arrived we noticed the dining area was small and very sparsely decorated which immediately screamed TAKE OUT and not DINE IN. It was about 7:30 and only one person was dining in when we arrived. I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup, Pork Spring Roll and the Szechaun Spicey Chicken with a bottle of water. My wife had the Hot & Sour Soup and Szechuan Spicy Shrimp with a bottle of water. Our food was brought to us very quickly which was pretty impressive. There were not condiments on the table so my wife got some soy sauce packets. The food was served to us in take out containers and we were given plastic silverware. We were not even offered chopsticks. I places my meal out on the table and took a picture and it looked and smelled good. The spring roll was flavorless and had no pork in it and was a bit too greasy. Soy sauce did not do much to enhance the taste. The hot & sour soup had very little hot and sour and just had tofu and bean sprouts and was very bland. The fried rice had small bits of pork that was overcooked and a wee bit of egg but had it had a slightly burnt taste. The Szechaun Spicey Chicken (and yes it was spelled like this on their menu online) was nicely cooked but again very bland. I tried one of the shrimp from my wife's meal and it had very little seasoning as well and she even said that she liked spicy when she placed her order. During dinner the young man asked how our meal was but several others were in the store and I did not want to embarrass him by telling him that this was the worst Chinese food I have ever been served in front of the other diners. I waited until the place cleared out and approached him discreetly. I let him know the food was bland and it would not be a very flattering review. The young man did not seem at all concerned so I left with my wife. If you like bland and tasteless Chinese food, you will love this place but to be blunt... I will never be back again. read more

As if today I have ordered from here 3 times during lunch and I must say that the food is pretty decent Chinese. Prices for lunch range from $4.95 to $6.65. I've always ordered takeout so I cannot comment on dining in. I have had 2 different dishes here...Szechuan Chicken and Orange Chicken. I got the lunch combo B which includes entree, rice, spring roll and your choice of soup. The only disappointing thing about the meal is the soup. I only really like Wonton soup so that's what I've ordered each time. It's honestly not that good. No flavor to the broth or dumpling. The Szechuan Chicken was the best that I've had in a long time. Perfect amount of spice, chicken and veggies. The Orange Chicken actually tastes like Orange. It comes in a delicious orange sauce that is not too overpowering. You can actually tell your eating chicken as the pieces are generous and are cooked to perfection.
