I give this place 5 stars for its authenticity and for the flavorful food. It is a sit-down restaurant, which is nice. However, the authenticity comes with a caveat. Do not come with anyone who is looking for Americanized Chinese Food because they don't have it. Ma Po Tofu and beef with bean sprouts is about it. This is fine with me because I have a very broad palate and love trying new things. Another warning is the spiciness of the food. I have had Ma Po Tofu in a zillion places (including NY Chinatown) and usually have to add the hot oil. Not here. This stuff was spicy. Yummy, but spicy. Not too spicy for me, but I have friends who would be unable to handle it. So in summary, great place if you like super authentic food, but diner beware. read more

Yummy Taste, in Chinese is Shu Xiang yuan which is a newly opened traditional Chinese Szechuan restaurant. It's the only Szechuan in east Orlando by far, and I love it! Been here a few times, and the service is always extremely slow. They do not watch their tables. Water not refilled, have to chase someone down for the check. I didn't order anything, but they assumed I was going to eat one of the dishes and reduced the spice level of one of them. Kindve annoying for my husband. My husband & I were walking around Waterford Towers Plaza while waiting for a restaurant to open when we stumbled upon this gem. They opened the moment we got there & decided after looking at the photos on Yelp that we wanted to give it a try. (Go Yelpers) walking in, there is bamboo & wooden decor all over, but it is very unassuming in appearance. The menu is pretty straightforward with many names also serving as a description (Fried Spicy Chicken or Beef Rice Noodle) - but there is no elaboration otherwise. There are some photos in the menu also but we certainly needed some help from our waitress. Speaking of the service, our waitress was so friendly & upbeat. We were offered some suggestions but also given plenty of space to make our decisions & didn't feel pressured at all. Keenan & I ended up going with the Fried Spicy Duck, Shrimp Fried Rice & Griddle Chicken. I asked the waitress for chicken with lots of vegetables & she suggested this chicken dish. She told me she even asked the kitchen to add extra veggies because I said I really liked them. Everything was delicious! The shrimp was so flavorful & the fried rice was not too salty or over-seasoned. The duck was fried perfectly.. it was so tender & just the right amount of szechuan. This does come with the webbed feet & head as well as the liver, by the way. The veggies with chicken were very flavorful & I feel every component had its opportunity to shine, with not one flavor over-powering the other. They use the spices I love but I want them to execute the entrees as good as I've had elsewhere along the east coast. We had the spicy chicken dish that was fried with lots of peppers (numbing and spicy as well). It was great but still missing something for me. I will compare to other restaurants and come back to order it again and figure it out. The cold spicy chicken appetizer was good but not as flavorful as I'd hoped. Texture was perfect. Sizing was large. The sauce was lacking. It was bone in chicken, which is not a problem. Other places may or may not offer boneless Oily noodles were okay. Mosquitoes went ham on us like it was all you can drink bottomless blood mimosas. Eventually the staff closed the door and turned of the AC. I recommend keeping the door closed and the AC on.
