Anytime I find myself on the east side of Orlando, I get SO excited because that means I can visit my favorite ramen stop - Soupa Saiyan! Located down the street from UCF, Soupa offers a wide selection of noodles, soups, and snacks that can only be described (by me) as delicious and comforting. They offer build your own bowl options for those who want ALL THE THINGS, but also have tasty pre-set meal options for those who do not have the energy to make the dreaded "what do we do for dinner" decision. I personally have loved everything I've eaten here. In addition to the great food, Soupa has so much character as a brand. As the name implies, Soupa Saiyan is a spoof on the famous Super Saiyans from Dragon Ball. The shop is covered in anime art and merch - you can have Goku stare you down while you eat! I always enjoy taking a look at the figure and art displays after my meal. Over the years, they have expanded their displays to include merch from One Piece, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and many other anime. This shop also features a beautiful mural of Dragon Ball heroes and villains. The mural also features Knightro, UCFs mascot and fearless knight. I am not sure when it happened, but on my most recent visit, I was sad to see the mural covered up by posters. I am not sure if this was a legal move, but I can only imagine that it was covered for a good reason. I hope I get to see the mural again. As always, the staff was very kind and made sure I had everything I wanted for my meal. The shop is small, so the service is always great. If you are a fan of Dragon Ball, or are a fan of big bowls of tasty noodles, I highly recommend that you make a trip to one of Soupa Saiyan's locations.They are all unique, but offer the same tasty meal experience. read more

For the anime fans, this place is am absolute treat just walking around to see all the collectibles and decor they have. It's a lot of fun. As for the food, I wanted to like it more than I did. I think getting the pho or ramen is the way to go here, and I instead tried the sushi. The presentation of it was so nice and immaculate, but the rolls I got just really lacked in flavor. They were kind of "blah". The ramen is decent, and again I think that's what to try if you go here. Also the workers were so lovely that I really wish our experience with the food had been better. Fun experience here! We loved the anime decor here. You order on a tablet at the entrance and then the food is brought to your table. I got the vegetarian sushi and the taro boba tea. You can customize your sushi and your boba tea when you order. The sushi tasted freshly made and healthy. There is a Pokemon Go stop here and the employees saw us playing it. So they teamed up with us and we were able to successfully win a Pokemon Go raid together with their help. Woot! read more

I finally tried Soupa Saiyan 3, and I was not disappointed. When you enter, they have kiosks for you to order, or you can place an order at the counter. While we waited for our food, we checked out their impressive display of anime merch and decorations. Our food was ready in no time, and we were able to get drinks from the self-serve soda fountain. I ordered the Sweet Teriyaki Stir-Fry with tofu, which had great flavor and was a great portion. Sometimes places barely give any protein, but this bowl had a great amount of tofu. My brother ordered the Flame Hashira Korean Bowl with chicken, which was advertised as being very spicy. It was definitely very spicy, but he enjoyed it a lot. The staff cleans off your table when you finish, and even though we did not interact with them much because of the ordering kiosk, they were very nice and were working hard behind the counter. It's been a while since I visited this place. So I went on a Tuesday early evening with my friend. It was just us when we arrived, and we looked at the menu from the counter. We were able to order from the kiosk, but I needed some time to decide. I finally ordered the chicken pho (about 15 dollars). After paying at the counter, we sat in the back and looked at the displays and novelties they were selling. Our soup came pretty quickly and I completely forgot how big the bowl was. It was a very good size with lots of shredded chicken, noodles, and vegetables as toppings. The chicken was very tender and worked well with the chicken broth. The noodles were flat rice noodles, which actually worked well for the soup. I liked that they added cilantro and garlic as well, enhancing the flavor of the broth. The soup was quite filling and while I was able to finish the noodles and the chicken, the broth was quite rich and plentiful that I couldn't finish it all. The service was quick, friendly, and patient. Even though we ordered and paid at the counter, the soups were delivered to our table, and picked up when we were done. We did have to use the fountain to get our own drinks and another area for utensils and sauces. Still there were great memorabilias on display as well the dragon ball z statue. The tv was showing anime, however, the music seemed to be American R&B. I am happy to see that Soupa Saiyan continues to bring good soups. While the soups are mostly pho, ramen is also available. This is the second Soupa location I've been to, and this one is the best one! It was not too busy on a Saturday afternoon, I ordered at the counter with a person instead of the iPad since I had a few questions. The woman at the counter was very helpful and I placed my order fast. I loved that they had everything I wanted in stock - a challenge I experienced at the last location. I ordered a build a bowl with ramen and beef, and added nori and bean sprouts. I forgot to order the spicy sauce, and I asked at the counter and they brought some to my table quickly. The Nori was in an envelope (and the sticker was a cute touch). The bowl was delicious and a great portion for the price, I brought half home. You don't need to clean up your table, they will do that for you. The decor in this shop is amazing! I love seeing all the statues and it's nice that they have a small shop. What I really liked about here - not only was it themed amazing with the wall decor but also had a TV playing Demon Slayer. I came to eat by myself, and it was nice watching while I ate. I'm not a big "anime-nerd," but it made my visit additionally enjoyable. I highly recommend this location, I would call it the best location in Orlando! There was nothing wrong with anything we had, it tasted fresh and the serving size was very large. It just seemed to lack a bit in flavor/depth. I had Pho Ga and hubby had a bowl. I ordered an extra side of protein - fried tofu - and for $4 I expected a tiny bit more. The Soupa sauce is also a little container for $2. I will admit, the soupa sauce helped a ton. What a prominent place! If you are an anime lover or food lover, you will like this place. They have ramen, stir-fry noodles, sushi, donburi bowls, pho, and a great variety of appetizers. The inside is lively, clean, and spacious. There is lots of artwork and figures to glance at while you wait on your order. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. I ordered the Kim Chi Stir-Fry with beef brisket. It was sooo good!! Hubby got the pork ramen it was fresh and tasted great. I also ordered a dragon fruit lemonade with boba but it tasted very artificial, it would've tasted better if i added more lemonade. The only downside (if any) would be that you order at a kiosk (no cash) and they still give the option for 20,22,25 percent tip. I believe it's a bit much, considering they are not giving table service. 25% of the bill is a lot to ask for in a restaurant that works like this one. Give them a try!! I have been wanting to go to Soupa Saiyan for a longgg time, but it just kept not happening, because of just how far away it was from me. But then, a miracle happened, they opened up a third location right by UCF, which is my stomping grounds. So one day, we stopped in to check it out. First off, the interior decor is out of this world. Very bright and colorful murals all over the walls, huge figures of our favorite anime heroes, and action figures everywhere. You'll be looking around the building the entire time you're here. You go up and order from a kiosk, which stinks. At a place as customizable as this, I really would like to order from a person that could answer my questions, but I guess kiosks are what the kids are into nowadays, so I went with the flow. We ordered three things and shared. We started with the Shenron Roll (eel, spicy tuna, asparagus, crispy garlic, avocado on top, eel sauce). This was very good! A lot of places are starting to sell mini sushi, due to the rising costs of seafood, but not this place! A full sized roll with plenty of eel and tuna and avocado. Very simple roll with a few, beautiful ingredients. I was a fan. Then I had to try a soup, of course, the Seafood Pho (veggie broth, rice noodles, shrimp, fishballs, krab stick, shrimp tempura, shrimp dumplings). First of all, this was beautiful. It legit looked like a delicious anime dish, like from Spirited Away or something. But this bowl had style And substance. The broth was deep and flavorful, there were plenty of noodles with some good bite to them, and again, plentiful amounts of seafood. Big, plump shrimp, a beautiful shrimp tempura stick, and succulent dumplings made this the best bowl of soup I've had in a very long time. I also don't remember exactly what item it was, but I ordered a noodle bowl with big chunks of crunchy, spicy chicken, a nice spicy sauce, some corn, a hard boiled egg, a lot of good stuff! Soft, lightly sauced noodles, and spicy, crunchy chicken; there's not a lot better than that. Also, I had a drink that was something like a Thai tea with some popping boba in the bottom. Amazing. I think this was the best boba drink I've ever had in my life, not kidding. Overall, this place was excellent. Some might find it pricey, but they don't cut corners, and you get everything you pay for. We've been fans of the original Soupa Saiyan for years. We drive from Tampa Bay to the Orlando area, just to have noodles there. It was time to check out the latest location! First of all, the food is the same great quality as the original location. The business is still family-owned and you can see that with this new location, the owner was trying something different when it comes to decor, branding, and layout of the restaurant. The staff were all very kind and courteous. Very attentive. Even got to chat for a bit with the manager. Bathrooms were modern and clean. All the utensils, to-go stuff, etc. was easily accessible by the soda fountain. Plenty of parking. Great vibes all around. I'm digging the more modern, spacious vibe of this new location. We'll certainly be returning when the next craving for noodles kicks in! read more

I have been to all 3 locations this one is my favorite one. Spacious and not overly crowded when we went. When you arrive you can order on 1 of the 3 tap to order kiosk which is convenient. One the the kiosk didn't work after we tried to tap pay multiple times, so we had to go to the counter. Also this one has a extended menu I was so excited to see they had a Tom yum based soup my absolute favorite! Be prepared to pay for extra ingredients but so worth it. I am leaving a 4 star due to their soup spoons being plastic and way too small for the large bowl of soup. Obsessed doesn't begin to describe how my kids feel about this place. I'm not sure if it's the ramen or the anime decor, possibly both! They ALWAYS choose to eat here when it's up to them. Soupa3 is how it's listed in Apple Maps. They have collectibles for display, photo ops, or purchase. For food, I tend to stick with what I like and although their spicy tuna roll is fantastic, I like the Build Your Own soup bowl! I credit my husband with the discovery of zoodles, brisket, & fresh veggies in beef broth. I then add a bit of sriracha and hoisin sauce. My kids really like the kids ramen bowl with brisket. Service is so so, but the last time we were there for a birthday, it was fantastic. Soupa 3 is east Orlando's best-kept secret, hidden gem, and best sushi spot (insert other stellar description here!). I have been at the Vineland location once but never at the University Blvd one. My husband and I went there while we were in the area, and the food was outstanding. The anime decoration is awesome, and I love how they incorporated UCF Knights elements with the art. When you first walk in, there are two self-service kiosks to make your order. I loved the system because it was fast, and you could see pictures of all the food before ordering. After completing the order, you get a ticket and then take a seat to wait for your food. One observation, or recommendation, is that sometimes it is hard to hear the last four digits of your phone number (as it is the way they assign you an order number, so pay attention to make sure they find you quickly). We began our feast with an order of Philly Eggrolls followed by the Kimchi Stir Fry (w/brisket) and a few sushi orders. The sushi was outstanding; it was a great surprise. My faves included the Spicy Tuna Roll, Golden Kamehameha Roll, and the Red Form Roll. Also, Vietnamese Pho is the way to go as the weather is cooling down. I'll give this place a 2 overall due to the fact it was clean inside and had a unique atmosphere (Japanese Anime galore), but that's where the accolades stop. Strike one for any sit down restaurant is its a mobile order from a kiosk only. Second, the menu is very limited and they nickel and dime you to death. For example a tuna hand roll if you add cucumber it's an additional $1.00, if you want avocado it's an additional dollar. That's not how this works for sushi. Food quality ? Let's just say sushi at Publix is better. The shrimp tempura is minced shrimp, not whole. The edamame was over cooked, mushy and tasted like it was frozen from a bag. The seaweed is tough and chewy, it's either old or it sits in a cooler all day. They serve soy sauce in packets, that is a MAJOR NO NO. Utensils all plastic and wrapped in plastic. Value: The portions are small and the price is OUTRAGEOUSLY high for what you get. I give this place 6 months tops before they close. I came in here for the omakase experience and boy did it deliver!! Not gonna lie, I was going in with low expectations given that the location is right around a college area and that the restaurant menu is more focused on pho and bowls rather than being dedicated to sushi. And I am proud to say that Soupa Saiyan's omakase dining exceeded expectations! Chef David was great and you could see that he had a passion for what he does, as he was very meticulous in his prep and genuinely wanted people to have a pleasant dining experience. Each of the pieces were incredibly tasteful with unique flavors. The chutoro (med-fatty tuna) was exceptional, along with the akami, shrimp, salmon, and several others. The mini rice bowl and accompanying broth were very rich too. I also liked the fact that the ginger and wasabi were made fresh and with real wasabi. David also used several different salts including his own matcha salt! David even treated us to some local macarons and our choice of stickers from his own collections as his own personal bonus. If you are into anime and Asian cuisine, then I definitely recommend stopping by Soupa Saiyan 3. The theme of this restaurant is unique and exploring the different exhibits they have set up throughout the restaurant makes a great past time. The food is definitely decent. The unagi bowl is tasty, but slightly overpriced for what you receive. The pho options they have however are amazing and I would definitely recommend one of those options. The pho broth was very flavorful, the noodles were cooked right and not overdone, and the protein was slightly over cooked but that's common for meat stewing in a warm broth for a certain amount of time. The Thai tea however did taste slightly off from what I'm used to having at different establishments and I can't exactly pin point why but nonetheless still good. I will also mention that the establishment was clean and the wait time wasn't very long. I already love the original restaurant located on Kirkman near Universal, but I finally had a chance to check out their 3rd Soupa and it's even better! Amazing decor, clean washrooms. Bigger and better menu! I'm a sushi junkie so I am one happy gal. I haven't tried it yet but in the evening with reservations, you can experience Omakase experience with their chef.
