Side salad (shredded cabbage that you can use to make okonomiyaki at home lol)

    - best spicy chicken teriyaki in town - We came here at 1 pm on a Saturday and it was quite empty. There were also two other groups dining here. We ordered beef yakisoba for $16.99 and spicy chicken teriyaki (2 stars) for $17.99 to go. They charge 10 cents for the to go plastic bag. It was ready in about 5 minutes. My husband wanted some Sriracha sauce, so I asked them if they had any. The employee told me they have it on the table, so we opened the takeout boxes and put some on his food. I guess they don't have any in small packets. The beef yakisoba was good with tons of veggies like cucumber, mushroom, and onion. My 2 stars spicy chicken teriyaki was fine but not as good as I remember it to be. It's still very good that the sauce and the teriyaki blends perfectly unlike most other places that the sauce and the teriyaki are like, separated. Basically if you drink these spicy chicken teriyaki, they'd still be spicy. If you rinse them from other places, they won't be spicy anymore. I hope that explains it better lol. Overall this place is great, and I hope it's closer to me. They have daily specials as well for a lower price, and the special today is the sweet and sour chicken.

Great sized portions. Fast service. Tasty teriyaki, not overly sweet. Great tempura mix.

Stopped in for dinner with a friend in March. He had chicken teriyaki, I got a beef teriyaki bento box. Good food.

    Spicy Chicken Teriyaki

Th restaurant is a smaller one but don't let it deceive you. The spicy chicken teriyaki has got to be my favorite. Spicy level 3 is perfect amount to give a little heat. The service was quick and professional. Would highly recommend for a good bite to eat for take out. Photo attached is my half eaten spicy chicken teriyaki because I couldn't wait to eat it

Chicken teriyaki was good and the portion pretty decent. It was ready in less than a minute for me. Enjoyed my dinner at the restaurant.

    Chicken katsu - amazing crunch

Best teriyaki in Puget Sound. The owners/chefs are meticulous about quality ingredients and consistent preparation. My food was in front of me literally two minutes after sitting down from getting drinks. I cannot overstate how perfectly executed their food is, the sauces alone, much less the preparation of the chicken and cabbage. TRY THIS SPOT. NUF SAID. plus they have a really good ice machine on the water cooler!

4.5, I've been to this place twice now and each time it's been pretty good. The first time I came here I didn't enjoy it as much but I decided to come for lunch yesterday and it was super good. It was super busy around noon, and the place was packed. They have a decent amount of seats, but every seat was filled. It's a small family run place, always the same workers trying their hardest. We ordered for takeout, and noticed our order was taken incorrectly. After informing them they corrected/added onto our order for free, which I really appreciated. Even with the business they had our food out hot and fresh super quickly, and it was all delicious. The katsu was just okay a little fatty, but the chicken was super flavorful and delicious. The rice was really good as well, but the portions for the prices and quality was exceptional. Overall I definitely recommend this place for some delicious teriyaki!!!!

Ask the Community - Yummy Teriyaki

What's the name of the salad dressings these joints use? Does anyone know what is in them? I used to go to these places all the time as a kid, but now I live out of state and can't get any good teriyaki or teriyaki joint salad.

The base teriyaki joint salad dressing is usually 1 part sugar, 2 parts rice wine vinegar, 2 parts mayonnaise. Many teriyaki restaurants will add black poppy seeds to improve the eye appeal.

Bon is located in the same plaza as H-Mart and so they have a shared parking lot or you could walk over from Redmond Town Center which is just a block away. The inside is surprisingly large with at least twenty tables, which is bigger than most Korean restaurants that I've seen on the Eastside. At 11:45am on a Saturday, my group of three had no problem getting a table. Their menu is extensive and has all the Korean food classics including seafood pancake, soondubu (stone pot tofu soup), galbi jjim (beef stew), Toppokki, bibimbap, and cold noodles (spicy and non-spicy versions). Their entrees are around $20 each, but some larger hot pot dishes (meant for 2-3 people) can be up to $70. I ordered the BULGOGI BIBIMBAP (~$24). Unfortunately they don't serve stone pot Bibimbap here, but the portions are large and beautifully presented. My dish came with plenty of fresh vegetables- pickled carrots and cucumbers, sesame bean sprouts, daikon kimchi, lettuce, and marinated black mushrooms (which I've never had in Bibimbap before but was soooo good) on top a bed of fluffy white rice! The egg was cooked perfectly over easy and the meat was marinated well too- I do wish the dish came with more meat though. They give you your typical sweet and spicy gochujang red sauce on the side as well as white vinegar and mustard sauce for added flavor. Service was fantastic and you get complimentary hot tea and ban chan (which are refillable). The ban chan included cucumber kimchi, daikon kimchi, sesame bean sprouts, kimchi, fish cake, and sesame choy. All employees were very friendly and made you feel at home. The inside is clean, but the only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is that they have an Okay health rating and not a Good or Excellent health rating. I didn't look up the exact violations, but it would be great to see an improvement in score. Overall: 4/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 3/5 for atmosphere

Their menu may not have an all-you-can-eat option, however the serving portions and variety are more than enough. This KBBQ is located in the Redmond Town Center. We opted for the small mix combo which had the prime ribeye, beef brisket, king prime short ribs, la seasoned ribs, beef tail flap, pork belly, pork jowl, pork shoulder, and seasoned boneless short ribs. We also ordered a bottle of soju to share. The meats were beautifully presented. They also served an array of banchans including onion salad and lettuce. Service was amazing. Our server always checked in and offered to change our grill pan. Pricing was on par for the meat quality and amount that came with our order. We even ended up with a couple to-go boxes. Located in Redmond, WA, the Third Place is a full-service Korean restaurant with a full menu of…read moreKorean favorites, known for their Korean Fried Chicken (KFC). Our family took advantage of the chicken's ability to maintain their crispiness, even for carry-out. It was OK, though a little confusing. Once we settled on KFC for dinner, our hosts (daughter and son-in-law) suggested carryout from 'The Third Place', which was a little out of the way from where we were. It is the Third restaurant opened by the owner, all Seattle area locations known for her KFC (Shin Sung Korean restaurant with Underground Kitchen and the since closed Yeon's Chicken). The chicken was ordered beforehand, and because it is prepared fresh when ordered, it took a bit of time for the order to be complete. There is a limited amount of sauce choices, so we chose Honey Garlic ($23.99) and the classic Yangnyum ($23.99), both marked as Whole Chicken size. Also a side order of french fries ($7.99) completed the order. The fries were good: nice and hot, heavily battered potatoes, providing a nice amount of carbs to go with the fried chicken. The chicken came with pickled radish (chicken-mu) which for me is a must, and it was good. In terms of the chicken, they were all wings, which isn't what I expected: getting the breast and thigh pieces chopped into bite-size pieces, battered and sauced, is what makes it KFC, vs all wings which is more like a Buffalo wing restaurant. So we still got the expected 14 pieces, but they were all wings (flats and drums). I thought the sauces were fine (intentionally ordered mild), and the chicken did maintain a crunch (though not as shattering as the best we've had).

At The Third Place, I…read morealways order Honey Garlic Chicken (Korean Fried Chicken) and Creamy Rice Cake (Tteokbokki). This is my favorite place to get Korean Fried Chicken, specifically the Honey Garlic Chicken. The chicken is always fried to perfection and maintains its crispness even while it's covered with sauce and surviving the drive home (takeout). Honey Garlic is my favorite flavor, but Yangnum is good as well. The Creamy Rice Cake is not your typical spicy, red Teokkbokki (although they do also have that). It's like they put rice cake in alfredo sauce with slices of fish cake and onions. The texture of the rice cake is superb! So tender and chewy. I order takeout via their website and food has always been ready by the specified time. There are street parking and lots available, but at times can be a pain to find an available spot.

The staff is gracious, prompt, professional, and - I hope no one objects when I say this - rather attractive. Generous portions and reasonable prices for what you're getting. The food is nothing sort of legendary - bold flavors and dishes have the perfect balance of sweet, heat, savory, and umami. THE THORNS: None significant enough to mention. NEITHER ROSE NOR THORN: It is important to note that this place is insanely popular with the area's Korean community. The restaurant is quite busy Thursday thru Sunday, and significant waits for a table are likely. Monday thru Wednesday is your best time for going and getting a table without a wait. The price of some dishes, like their signature offering, Kalbijjim, might give you a pause ($80+). It is important to keep in mind this is made to order, and one serving can easily serve four regular appetites. If you're just a couple, you're definitely going to be taking this home with you. This is not a bad thing, as Kalbijjim is one of those dishes that is even better the next day and doesn't suffer from reheating. THE VERDICT: Daeho Kalbijjim is extremely popular, and it's not hard to see why. The execute authentic Korean cuisine pretty much flawlessly with efficient and charming service. They also had some really tasty banchan that made the meal even better. It's incredibly busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. For a group of four, I'd recommend getting a Kalbijjim and a cold noodle dish to balance out the meal as the meat flavors do get pretty heavy. The Suyuk was another standout, the meat was tender, and the broth had an incredible depth of flavor. As for the cheese on the Kalbijjim, I'd say it's not necessary unless you specifically want the experience. The dish is already delicious without it. Overall, a really great meal with bold flavors, incredibly tender meat, delicious banchan, and great service. Definitely worth a visit!
