Good teriyaki spot near/on the Microsoft campus! This spot was super busy when we came by during lunchtime, and it took around 20 minutes before we got our food after sitting down. They have quite a few varieties of teriyaki on their menu including lunch combos with other sides. I just got the classic chicken teriyaki since I felt that was important to try. The food was really good! The chicken was juicy and tender, and the teriyaki sauce was great. It came with 2 little scoops of rice and a salad as well. The salad had a yummy dressing, and I really liked the stickiness and texture of the rice. Prices seem high but the portions are huge and their teriyaki chicken is top notch white breast meat. I also like that the grilled meat has a nice crispy char to it that adds good flavor. I've stopped in several times this month and have yet to be able to finish more than half the plate in one sitting, always gotta take the rest togo. They also have happy hour specials during lunch I believe. Not sure if they have it during dinner also. If you are in a hurry I recommend calling ahead. This place is flying completely under the radar, but worth scouting out if you're in the area! Not far from the MSFT campus sits this small shop dishing out flavorful teriyaki plates. There's other Chinese dishes, but the teriyaki is where the money's at. We got their chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu and both were simple and tasty. Each run $12. The teriyaki was similar to that of Toshi's in Kirkland with a big portion! The meat was grilled well and had the smoky char flavor that I love so much. There was just the right amount of teriyaki sauce drizzled over the top of it. Two scoops of rice came with it as well as a simple and fresh salad. Katsu was chicken thigh meat, which was flavorful; just a little on the dry side. Big portion as well with 2 scoops of rice. With the pandemic reducing their foot traffic, I'm happy to see that they've stayed open. I can only imagine how much business they had when MSFT office employees were on campus! These are the places that I'm happy to support and will continue to do so. It's simple comfort food done well with fresh ingredients. The staff is nice and friendly and the place is clean, with plenty of hand sanitizer and contactless payment options. The entrance faces 40th in the business park. There was plenty of food...three pieces of teriyaki salmon, two tempura shrimps, four sushi rolls, three pot stickers, a scoop of rice and a separately packaged fresh salad. This was enough for 3 meals for me, so I was very happy. Take-out only for now (pesky coronavirus!), but normally you can dine in if you want. Very convenient if you work at Microsoft or live in the neighborhood, and as all the MS cafeterias are closed right now, it's a lifesaver for lunch or dinner if you need to be at the office in a lab or something. The couple who run the place are very nice. For an office strip teriyaki place, it's pretty good. Four stars! read more

This little gem is tucked into the Microsoft Campus area and is conveniently located near my office. I have eaten there at least twice a week for the last 6 months that I have been working here. The menu variety is fantastic, lots to choose from and as often as I eat there, I could eat something different every time and not get tired of the same meal. The price is reasonable considering the location, and I never spend more than $15 in a day. The staff is so nice, they take the time to ask about your day and the service is quick but, not so quick to make you think it was poorly made. The portions are large enough to where I have shared my meals with coworkers and still satisfyingly full. Pros: large portion size- I was able to eat half of it and save the other half for the next day Cons: the chicken was not as grilled/lightly charred as I would like. I am not really a big fan of the teriyaki concept. The mix of rice, meat and salad just does not sit well with me. I feel like I need more vegetables in the entree or something. It is kind of hypocritical of me though as I have no problems with Hawaiian plate lunches which has an overwhelming amount of carbs and meat, but vegetables are non existent almost. I guess that is the way that it goes. Acacia is located in a business park surrounded by Microsoft buildings. I expect much of Acacia business is from Microsoft employees though I wonder why they feel the need to go off campus. There are many cafes around campus and the menus are not all that bland. The cuisine is diverse. I have had ceviche, pork posole, chicken tagine and roast turkey all in the same cafe. Though I am sure that Eurest food can get tiring after a while. The storefront at Acacia is pretty decent. There is a good amount of seating, the place is relatively clean and service is quick. I did also get my food within 5 minutes of order. Got the special today which is chicken teriyaki with two gyoza and a shrimp tempura ($7.49). Surprisingly flavorable. The sauce seemed to make the difference. The salad that came with it was also fairly good, though the ranch seemed a bit indulgent. In addition to teriyaki, there are other items like yakisoba and they have a fridge with numerous types of drinks. Though I must admit that I rate teriyaki on a lower scale because of the simplicity, the teriyaki here though was actually pretty fair. The food is good, and the place is clean. It's also the only place around, so that means prices are a little bit higher. I can live with that. What's annoying is they nickel and dime you to death. Want brown rice? $1.50 more with teriyaki, $2.50 more with other dishes. They have a punch card. Buy 12, get one free. But they limit the value of the completed card to the price of the lowest priced item on the menu--doesn't matter what you've bought to get those stamps. And we are talking about somewhere between $1 and $3 that you'll potentially have to pay extra when you cash in a completed card. Not a big amount of money, but annoying. Want a fork (for salad) AND chopsticks for everything else? Expect to hear/see disdain. Want an extra napkin? Ditto. Kind of frustrating. The food rating would be about a 3 star. Nothing extra special since the chicken they use is cooked and prepped without any marinade like flavor before use. This makes it easier on small businesses to just add chicken to different meals but, it is apparent in the quality of the dishes they serve because of it. The reason why I gave it that extra is because they do keep the customer in mind. The service was prompt and friendly and the effort is evident in the details of their dishes available and layout of the restaurant. The serve yourself water, utensils, and drinks give them the ability to provide a faster service without the overhead of too much staffing. I thought the layout was very savvy and perfect for the tech crowd that would frequent their establishment due to location and type of food. Also, not having a complex menu setup lets them be agile and quicker with your order otherwise. The prices are comparable to other teriyaki places and the portions are nice and large. So, I would say that the value is definitely there for the price they charge. They also have a frequent visitor card where the 12th meal is free up to a $7.75 value. The place is very straight forward and thoughtful. The establishment is clean and maintained. The place is easy to miss and even easier if you're not familiar with the area. The place seems to have been recently remodeled. The only thing that's missing is a flat screen t.v. It's directly across 40th St from Microsoft Studio F, so some friends that work there go to lunch here often and I sometimes join them. The meat quantity is pretty high compared to the salad and rice. I think I'm unusual in that I'd like more of the rice and salad, but I do. The teriyaki sauce is somewhat sweeter and thicker than others I've had. I've never noticed or been bothered by any "banging noises" and I've also found the service to be as quick as can be expected based on how crowded or empty the restaurant was each time I've been there. The gyoza are fried a little too crunchy for my tastes, so I don't think I'll be getting them again in the future. Because it's close to the office and that's important when you took the bus. If I were you I wouldn't go out way to get here. But if you work a block away, it might be a better option than a frozen Lean Cuisine, stealing food from your coworkers, or a protein bar. The spicy chicken teriyaki and the chicken katsu are our go-to entrees and I love the dressing on the side salads--it tastes like the miso dressing you can find in supermarkets. Not only does the inside look like a restaurant now, but the menu has changed to add a lot of interesting stuff. Rather than risk losing my parking spot, I prefer to attend nearby establishments; Acacia is it. The thing about Acacia to remember is that you should only order a few select things: teriyaki, yakisoba, and a few other dishes. There's plenty on the menu that just doesn't make sense - mozzerella sticks and jalapeno poppers, for two - and others that are absolutely horrid (the miso soup has chicken bouillon in it, and the salad is bag-o-lettuce with ranch dressing). Regardless, if you stick with the staples, you'll do just fine. I always get the chicken breast teriyaki which, because of the quantity of meat, always means I have a wicked food coma in the afternoon. The sauce is tasty, and there's always too much rice. As others have suggested, call ahead - it's quite busy. Seating room can only be attained very early or very late. Would I go out of my way to visit Acacia if I wasn't at work? Nah... This place is great! Excellent food! I'm not a huge fan of teriyaki, but they have other really delicious items on their menu, including their broccoli with beef and the fried rice! My 2 year old loves it! My husband loves the spicy chicken teriyaki! It's really close to Microsoft so we can easily get it on the way home from work :) The prices are very reasonable. There are two people who work here. One up front who takes orders and another that makes strange banging noises behind a curtian in the back. Since that is where the food comes from I can only assume the second person is making the food. The fact that there are only two explains why it takes 30 minutes to get your Teriyaki. The person up front is kind and allways thanks you for waiting. However they are cheep, cheep and cheep. Lots of rice little teriyaki, you have to pay for every little extra like teriyaki sauce and probably forks and knifes.
