I saw on Groupon I could get a Brazilian wax for $20 I called and was told not to buy the coupon but they would honor this price I've just been paying so much at European Wax Center. I wanted to see if another place would make me as comfortable and do as good of a job. I arrive the next day having an appointment and the two girls there knew about my appointment Kept speaking in their language, so I couldn't understand what they're saying, looking back-and-forth and looking at me I have an appointment ? They said oh yes, you have an appointment Kept talking about the price so I don't understand them having a Groupon and not knowing it's on there Going back to Get my Brazilian she asked is I wanted a chocolate do I one? I said well sure and she said well it's $15 more I said no, thank you then, and she just kept going on and on that it would be so much better for me , I said no thank you Then she proceeded to do my waxing and honestly, I have never been in such pain having a wax. It usually doesn't bother me at all!!!! Kept telling her the wax is hot , she would blow on it and then continue Once I left and got home, my crotch was completely on fire from this I had to ice my vagina !! This was the waxing experience from hell and I have the burn marks to prove it. I got my armpits, arms, and Brazilian done and I should have stopped at my armpits. Unfortunately a lot of my normal spots are closed due to the pandemic and I was desperate to get this service performed because I had a sexy boudoir photo shoot scheduled the next day. It was 4PM and I didn't have any other options. When you look at the photos, keep in mind that I do not have sensitive skin and those are photos of both of my arms. This poorly trained individual only spoke Portuguese so that didn't help. No English, no Spanish, only Portuguese. She went over my armpit ~15 times. Let that sink in people, about 15 times per armpit and still left a hair. My lady parts still have hair in my inner lips, she burned the outer one, and chaffed where it connects to my thigh. Oh and I left the salon covered in wax. Covered. She even managed to get it on the bottom of my foot. And she did not wipe me down with baby oil to calm my burned irritated skin. No. Instead she sprayed the pre-wax rubbing alcohol after waxing me. Rubbing alcohol on my open-pore, sensitive lady parts and got it inside. Omg I was in so much pain because she was so poorly trained. I'm cringing remembering how many times she went over my lady parts. Over and over and over. Rip after rip after rip. Probably 10-15 times in the same part again and again and again. As I'm going over my skin right now, I can still feel stubble. Stubble?! I had 6, almost 7 weeks worth of growth and I feel stubble on my arms and lady parts. It's like she tore the hair and didn't get the follicle. Omg I'm so angry right now. When I noticed the redness on my arms, it was itchy so I thought it was an allergic reaction and she kept saying "sensitive skin, sensitive skin." No! You burned me. The worst part was when I got to the cash register and they told me any services over $50 had an automatic 18% gratuity added. Ha! No, remove it. "Would you like to leave another form of tip?" It seemed like they only gave me a partial refund in exchange for the removal of my review. Harry the manager called me multiple times questioning why I still had it up, I didn't respond and then I started getting calls from another YUVA member as well. Came here for the first time. I got eyebrow and lip done. The girl was very harsh and actually had me teary eyed. I left red. It was a little bit more pricey than what I'm use to paying. Service is quick if you go during the week. They offer a rewards program where you get a free eyebrow service after several visits, which is dope. Trainee brow technician, misinformation, rude and arrogant management. In my years of having my brows done, never had I had someone asking questions on what to do as they work on my brows. I'd had trainee hairstylist... but trainee brow techs? Too big a risk, and had I known, I would never had sat down. After I was told it's finished and looked at the mirror, I could not believe it. No shaping, no style, flat straight. I showed my tech, the old lady with glasses - Mona, how she could create an arch by cleaning certain areas. She then asked a younger lady (Sona) who came over and guided her. Sona stood over Mona telling Mona and pointing to different parts of my brows on what to do and how much to work on each section. I was given the hand held mirror so I was able to watch the whole ordeal; I tried not to be horrified. I politely complimented Sona hoping she would take over. She didn't. After a while, Sona went away, I was in the hands of Mona....not knowing what was going to turn out. As it was, one side ended up thicker than the other side. i was in a hurry and figure I will spend some time fixing it myself later. Then, Mona proceeded to sell me some bleaching package. Although she was not pushy and quit after I politely declined, but having to listen to her speel wasted another 5 mins. C'mon I told you I was in a hurry... When I finally get to the counter to check out, I showed my Groupon which I purchased two days before my visit. Mona did not know what to do and went away. More time wasted. A man who looked like the manager returned and told me the Groupon was invalid. Two days earlier.....Groupon had a deal for eyebrow threading for YUVA. I looked up and saw YUVA had several locations and this one on Lincoln is slightly more convenient for me. I called Tustin branch (which was the one listed on the Groupon) and inquired if the Groupon for Eyebrow they advertised is good for their Lincoln branch. Lady replied, "of course, can use for any YUVA branches in Orange." I did not know, and still do not know if YUVA is franchised or owned by one owner. It was my first time to YUVA. That was why I called. To confirm, I called Lincoln branch (where this review is written for), and asked the same question. The lady on the phone had identical Indian accent - I almost thought it was the same person I had previously spokewith at the Tustin Branch. She confirmed the Groupon as advertised was good for their location. I was very clear and specific that the Groupon I have is for eyebrow and asked if I needed an appointment. She said just come right in. So, the Indian manager did not budge. He stated they accept Groupons only for a different service. That nailed it. They are familiar with Groupons and does advertise with Groupon. He went on to argue the info over the phone was "human error" maybe his staff did not hear well. So,his solution is for me to pay the listed price they charge and then go get a refund from Groupon (after Mona already viewed the Groupon). His idea of fixing his staff's mistake is expecting the customer to pay for it. He was not interested to listen how his staff had miscommunicated and given me the confirmation for the service. Then, he got personal and started calling me a "cheat" and wanted to grab my phone from my hands. I cannot understand how can such a business operator survive. A first time customer that walked into your shop....contending not over a $200 facial package, but over a few dollars? .... c'mon, the value of a tip? Prior to checking out and speaking with the manager, I had asked for the names of the ladies and thought to myself - next time, just ask for Sona instead. I was willing to give them another try. I would not make a big deal today since I came in with a discounted voucher. ... But with the manager's poor attitude and rude arrogance, no way. Inherently, he indirectly invited me to write this review. They would rather upset a potential customer than to be fair and do the right thing, especially it was their mistake for not educating their staff. In the end, he decided to swipe my Groupon voucher. After all that fuss! And, oh ya - they wanted me to pay again on top of that Groupon for a trainee brow technician's half done work. Go figure. read more

Heads up, manager did mention that they are all vaccinated & they hold the thread behind their neck I believe... Came in today and saw pretty, I believe she's new to Yuva but do not underestimate her she does great work. She made me feel comfortable and made sure that I liked my eyebrows, she made me check them every so often to make sure that's how I wanted them which was really nice of her. Took less then 10 mins for an eyebrow thread and a friendly conversation. I hope pretty stays around I would love to her again!
