Greg helped us, and helped us figure out exactly what we needed. He was super helpful in explaining how a mattress and pillow configuration can help relieve pressure points on your body. My husband's a side sleeper and I'm a back sleeper, and somehow we were also able to figure out one mattress for both of us after trying a few. It was also great because they use disposable liners on every mattress that we tried, and the store is pretty much toddler-proof. My toddler had a fun time carrying all the dolls from bed to bed, pretending each one was sleeping which really let us relax a little. She bought several pieces, thousands worth, including a $750 matress. What the salesperson FAILED to tell us was that the floor model was SIGNIFICANTLY softer that the new one she would recieve because hundreds, if not thousands of people have broken it down. The matress was delivered and immediately we realized that it was hard, like rock hard. Like sleeping on a cement slab. She called and got their standard auto reply of "you just need to break it in" and their "sorry, youre outta luck - too bad for you" attitude. The time it would take to break this matress in to even half of what the floor model felt like would take years. Its completely unrealistic, shes just 1 person! Whats worse is she isnt able to get comfortable and is having lingering effects from loss of sleep and physical pain. She had to buy an expensive mattess topper which slightly helps but still.... NOT THE POINT and not 100% remedied. We tried emailing Living Spaces customer help, customer service and even a corporate email we found and they all bounced back. Its clear they have no intention of helping us. Fortunately there are consumer laws but its a shame we have to even go in that direction. It would have been nice and more importantly it would have been fair for them to not only advise of the difference in feel but remedy the situation by allowing for a courtesy exchange. Jeez, even the ability to correspond would be nice instead of having to resort to alternative recourses. Literally any other mattress chain allowes for at least a 30 day exchange. I opted for a very simple murphy-style bed which folds up neatly on the wall. Oh how I wished I had done this earlier! Recently spent a few hours at Sleep Haven with my wife looking for a pressure relieving king mattress and adjustable base. There were many mattresses of all types to try, overwhelming to say the least. Then came Mac, the owner to the rescue. He is, in my opinion a mattress guru. He seemed to understand what we were looking for and showed his vast knowledge of brands, manufacturers, and the pluses and minuses of each type of mattress. I'm not going to bore you with the details of each type of mattress and base, but we discussed them all and after trying out many decided on one and a base. After ordering came delivery, setup, and take away. Almost everyone has outsourced delivery and setup to third party logistics companies. To say the least we have had mixed experiences with these over the past several years. Sleep Haven has kept delivery and setup in-house. The experience was great. Due to our schedule it ended up being done in the evening. And who showed up? Mac with one of his most experienced drivers! To accommodate our schedule he came from San Mateo to West San Jose and delivered and set up our new bed as well as removing our old, heavy Sleep Number bed and articulated frame. Could not have been a better experience. If you need a bed I suggest visiting Sleep Haven. Also suggest giving yourself a good chunk of time to make your decision.
