So I have been coming to this place for years to get my mom and wife gift certificates. Recently they went to actual gift cards instead of the original paper ones. I bought one for my mother for her birthday using cash gave it to her and everything was great(or so I thought).I just bought her another one for Christmas and upon receiving it she informed me that they said the gift card I bought her for her birthday was not valid and had no balance. So today I went down and confronted the store owner who I bought the card for and ask him to check the camera footage if he did not believe I purchased it. He said he would check and then all of a sudden said there was no camera footage. He very rudely told me the cards are upfront and anyone can just come up and take them and told me there was nothing he could do for us.Needless to say I will never purchase another gift card from this place again. read more

I will forever recommend Yvonne's. I'm new to the area and haven't had a chance to try many salons out to find my place or person I could trust till now. I came in nearly in tears due to a horrible experience from another salon down the street. Short back story, I took a day off of work before leaving for a trip to Florida to get my nails done....i had a planned photo shoot in Florida and I NEEDED good nails. I went to another salon around 2pm was told what I asked for could 100% be done...my nails came out crooked and the French tip was VERY uneven. I walked in around 5pm stressed that I wouldn't be able to get my nails fixed in time...I was sat with Win and let me tell you...she immediately made my anxiety disappear. She removed the terrible work and did an AMAZING JOB! I left in tears but not because my nails looked horrible but because she did such a good job and I was so thankful she did a miracle for me. I'm also at 2 weeks with these nails on and haven't had ANY lifting, chips, or issues like I normally do! The salon was also clean, the vibe was perfect, and I was much more relaxed. Went back in today after 3.5 weeks for a FILL on my FULL set. My original set was just a little out grown, no lifted nails and no missing nails. I thought the new set was a decent price for the cost of $72 and how nicely they lasted. But I went in tonight again for a full to see holly again however for a fill they charged me $70 just $2 off from a new set. If I knew a fill was just as expensive as a new set I would've ripped my old ones off to get a new set and the fill has some flaws for me from the shaping of my French tip and the over layer of powder reapplied looks a little bubbled. Also I know the longer the set the more $$ salons charged however I asked my nail tech to cut even shorter than my first set I got there so the price menu is very unclear. Maybe would've took my business else were if I knew the fill was just as expensive and will know for my future business. read more

Came based on the good reviews but left unhappy. I told her I had a big event on Saturday and asked for an almond French acrylic set but now I have to get it redone elsewhere. I tried liking it but it's not what I wanted. They keep the door closed so the smell of acetone gets boxed in and I started getting a headache, she left my cuticles jacked up, the length is off, She rushed the job as her next client came in and skipped the full service hand massage, got distracted every time a new person came in, the French tip lines are crooked, the "nude" looks cakey and unnatural, the gems are off center, and she nicked me with the nail grinder! I've stumbled on this salon by word of mouth from a coworker about 2 years ago. When I heard that my coworker found a salon that was not only clean, very hospitable, on trend, with a great selection on designs and nail colors I was sold! Looking at the outcome of my coworkers nails I figured I would give them a chance and asked in particular if there was anyone specifically I should ask for. She recommended me Phoung, saying she was great in both manicures/pedicures and that she was the sole person she looked to when coming to Yvonne's. I immediately looked to trying to book through their website for a pedicure. Yvonnes nails website is very user friendly and easy to use to book ahead of time. Once I set my appointment for the particular day I wanted I was sent reminders the day before. As soon as I entered the salon I was nicely greeted by Phoung! She is one of the kindest people I have met in this industry. One thing I'm very particular to is shape! Phoung does not disappoint and takes her time to ensure all your nails are even and to your standards. She always ensures that the color is exactly what you're looking for if not, almost exactly close depending on what they currently have in stock for colors. She gives great recommendations to try different colors as opposed to something generic. I started out solely just getting pedicures from her since at the time due to my job I was unable to have long nails. Needless to say, since getting a new job I have now come in to get both my pedicure/manicures done by Phoung. She has introduced me to dip manicures to ensure natural nail growth is more sturdy than regular gel. I trust her skill so much as a nail tech that I let her pick out what to do for my nails for color and design. I'm never disappointed leaving Yvonne's when serviced by Phoung. Today I went to Yvonne's with no color specifically in mind or any design at all. As soon as I asked Phoung for some ideas she gave me a few options she thought would look nice. After contemplating the options I told her to choose whatever she wanted to do and she recommended doing something with a design. I told her I just wanted something dainty and cute. As a result of my nails posted below I can say she exceeded my expectations! I used to get my nails done here religiously since early 2000s. I can confidently say the quality of their work has suffered greatly. At least in terms of retention. PROS: clean facility, up to date with current trends and designs CONS: they rush to provide quantity over quality I decided to give them A try again this year because my home salon was closed temporarily. I was absolutely in love with the designs I asked for. The techs delivered my vision with some Compromise however. But neither set lasted the minimum of 2 weeks. My home salon I can almost push out for a month. First set lifted after 11 days.. The most recent set I had done was for vacay and that lifted after 1 week. So sad because I pay so much for special designs to only enjoy for such a short period. My gel pedi was acceptable. And the staff there are pretty nice. Just wish they took more time with their clients to ensure quality work and retention. read more

This place was cozy and I liked that I am able to book an appt online. Even though it was a cozy vibe, I wish the lighting was better not only for the techs but also to see the colors better. It was hard to see the true colors inside because the lighting was too warm. I got a new set with design. When I was seated, the nail tech gave me a booklet and told me to choose a color. I was disappointed with the color options. I asked if this was all they had and she said yes and walked away. As she was doing my nails I could tell she was nodding off which made me feel uneasy since she had tools in her hand. Next thing I knew, I got nicked, twice. After she did the powder she gave me a huge binder full of colors. I was confused because she had made me choose a color and I also already had the powder on my nails. Apparently the first booklet she gave me was only for powder and the binder was filled with gel colors (for the design she was doing). In the end I liked my nails, even though there some things that could have been improved. I would come back because the price was reasonable and were really good at designs. I have been seeing one of the nail techs at this salon for years and she recently landed at Yvonne's Nails. I've been here a few times and have always had great experience. Clean, hospitable, good shows on TV and all the techs are good. The service and work I received was amazing. The 1 star is for the man who works the front desk. Super suspicious and a liar. My last visit, I paid with a card and as always, tipped handsomely in cash because I was on to the shady business. The man told me if I got cash he would give me $10 off. I declined at the time. This visit, I was sure to get the total price ($145) before heading to the Wells Fargo to get cash like requested again. I gave the man $140 dollars and reminded him about the $10 off he told me from the last time bringing the total to $135. We went back and forth a bit but he said he would get my change. He walked to the back and I followed him. I asked him for my change and he said that he would give me $5 off. I said you told me $10 and he again said $5. I'm not going to argue in a salon, I'm simply not going to return and of course, turn to the internet. I don't leave many reviews but this is shady business and should be shared with others. WORTH EVERY PENNY! I had never went to Yvonne's because I kept hearing how expensive it was. When I got a lil extra sugar from my sugar daddy I went here to treat myself and go all out on a new set. Now usually, I am ALWAYS wary of who does my nails. The mid-low end salons I go to probably have 1-2 nail tech that I rely on (everyone else sucks) and I figured there were only 1-2 nail techs at Yvonne's as well. I tried to make an appt with Holly (all the reviews rave about her) but she wasn't available at my time so I grudgingly said anyone would do. Got there a little late - was scared I would have to wait because 2 girls were ahead of me but they took me in happily. Tracy took me and SHE IS AMAZING!!! Removal of my old set was PAINLESS and so easy. She is gentle but also very professional! Literally taking not just the basic steps, but BEYOND to make sure my nails were exactly how I wanted. IF you get your nails done at Yvonne's, DO NOT GO TO JEN. She runs behind on her appointments and rushes horribly. Her technique,in my opinion, is incompetent. My nails are lumpy and have no uniformity, some of my real nails separate from the extensions, and she left glue and small imperfections everywhere. I'm no amateur to getting my nails done, and while having my fill in serviced by Jen, she was rough, cut me multiple times and cut my real nail off before asking if that's what I wanted (again, rushing and assuming). I'm tired of PAYING for a professional service and getting homemade results with "nail techs" having an attitude about me not accepting SUBPAR service. I'm sick of salons insulting paying customers who are well versed in nail art culture to accept such work. There's a reason certain techs are first chair (poor/amateur results) and it shows in their craft. What was most disappointing is that as I reviewed my overall charges with the male "supervisor", considering Jen's painful and blind decisions, he only offered a $4 discount. Then Jen had the nerve to walk over & ask with an nonchalant attitude, shrugging while on the phone, "What do you want me to do about it??" ... For starters, take classes and clean up your trash technique so customers don't have to endure painful, rushed & sloppy work and humble yourself. Next, attend some customer service training because your product and service IS NOT WORTHY of an ego so large, ma'am. In conclusion Jen's disposition, her efforts and work were all TRASH. I no longer support Yvonne's after coming here many times over the past years. By far my favorite salon located in the bay! The nail techs are so patient, kind, and truly care about what you want as a customer and the outcome of your nails. I got my nails done by Lisa and she is amazing. She took the extra time to experiment with different colors on my nails to find the best match for the design i wanted. You will always have to call ahead as they're pretty busy. I'd say they are on the pricy side, especially if you want designs but it's worth it. This salon is located in a large parking lot. I gave the salon a 2 star because I usually come here and the service is excellent and the work these hard working women and men do are worth their pricing. Unfortunately today, that was not the case. 3 of us came in for manicure and pedicures and there seemed to be an off putting vibe in the salon. Any small request seem an inconvenience for the workers. This is was very surprising. I have not had my nails or toes done since Covid began, and to finally feel safe and use money on self care and experience poor service is unimaginative. Very disappointed. My usual nail technician is out on maternity leave and she would have ensured my experience is flawless. I was embarrassed because I convinced relatives to try out this salon. I went today to get a manicure. The only plus was that I didn't have to wait very long. All the nail techs seemed to be super rushing through everything. I told them what I wanted and they basically ignored my request. I said I wanted a gel manicure with a specific dip powder top coat. The girl straight ignored my request and said she'd only do dip powder. COVID guidelines weren't being followed, hand sanitizer wasn't offered, there was plexiglass but no one was 6 feet apart. Nothing was sanitized in between clients. In fact, the gal pulled out a cuticle clipper from a box that look used and for sure not sanitized. Pricing- I'm utterly confused by what I got charged. I told the gal what I wanted, which she basically told me she would only do dip powder not gel. She said she'd test it out to make sure I liked it. So I agreed to that. She asked if I wanted my cuticles cut. Once this was done and she moved onto getting the dip powders she told me it would $72 total. And I asked what the pricing was for each item, she said $10 for a cuticle cut! Uhh what, isn't that normally included? I included the pricing list in the pictures and it says $5 for a cuticle cut. The entire services I received don't add up to $72 according to their pricing. Quality- the gal was super rough with me and keep telling me to relax my fingers, over and over. She kept getting the nail filer tool, like the plug in one, to buff and shape my nails. It was getting really hot and she was getting super close to my cuticles. It hurt! In fact, 6 hours later my cuticles hurt from being dug into so deeply because she keep going around and deep into the sides. The shape of my nails is really square and not nicely done either. The manicure was done super quickly, roughly and then they don't do massages on your arms or hands. Put lotion on or anything. It was literally just nails painted and some cuticle oil. read more

This salon is very disappointing. The person who claims to be the manager is terrible and He also always asks for cash payments, which is suspicious. My husband went for payment and he was hassling him to pay cash.... Why do you even think you have the right to ask a paying customer? He does this every time! When I called and asked for Cindy to set up a VIP pedicure and basic manicure for my husband, the total should have been $100, but instead, they charged me $128. When I asked for the manager, the man on the phone said he was the manager but then gave the phone to Cindy. She explained that the extra charge was for paraffin wax on my husband's feet and hands, but she lied when I asked if she had told my husband about the extra cost. He had no idea about it. It's strange that she put paraffin wax on his hands because that's not something most men would want. I booked her because I trusted her and spoke with her on the phone, she said that she would take care of him. I told her exactly what we wanted but instead she took advantage.... What a shame It's not just about the money, though. The last few times I booked an appointment with Van, I ended up with someone else, which is frustrating. And even though my husband tipped Cindy $20, they still didn't give us good service. I won't be going back to this salon again and I'll make sure to tell my friends and family to avoid it too. I recommend going to Rosehip Salon in Fremont instead. They're a great place that won't try to scam you, and they keep their salon very clean and hygienic. read more

As always, they're pretty busy but they're always able to seat you quickly, so that's a plus! I'm sitting and showing the manicurist a picture of what I wanted & she said she could do it. I was going for a "red winter candy cane/snowflake" design. PLEASE refer to the pictures. She starts drawing the snowflake & at first glance I was thinking "hmm....idk about that..." I decided to be patient & just see how it progresses. The manicurist is nice & she's delicate with her movements. I'm not the type to say anything, but I just couldn't keep it to myself. I finally found it in myself to say something to her that I didn't like it . I asked her if she can just do a more simple flower design. At first she was hesitant-she started speaking Vietnamese to the other lady. Just looking at the other lady's reaction to her snowflake drawing just confirmed with me that it wasn't nice.. I'm the end, she did change the design BUT even that was mediocre.. In cost $50 for the service & I did tip her $5. Just really disappointed, I don't like it read more
