I have been seeing one of the nail techs at this salon for years and she recently landed at Yvonne's Nails. I've been here a few times and have always had great experience. Clean, hospitable, good shows on TV and all the techs are good. The service and work I received was amazing. The 1 star is for the man who works the front desk. Super suspicious and a liar. My last visit, I paid with a card and as always, tipped handsomely in cash because I was on to the shady business. The man told me if I got cash he would give me $10 off. I declined at the time. This visit, I was sure to get the total price ($145) before heading to the Wells Fargo to get cash like requested again. I gave the man $140 dollars and reminded him about the $10 off he told me from the last time bringing the total to $135. We went back and forth a bit but he said he would get my change. He walked to the back and I followed him. I asked him for my change and he said that he would give me $5 off. I said you told me $10 and he again said $5. I'm not going to argue in a salon, I'm simply not going to return and of course, turn to the internet. I don't leave many reviews but this is shady business and should be shared with others. By far my favorite salon located in the bay! The nail techs are so patient, kind, and truly care about what you want as a customer and the outcome of your nails. I got my nails done by Lisa and she is amazing. She took the extra time to experiment with different colors on my nails to find the best match for the design i wanted. You will always have to call ahead as they're pretty busy. I'd say they are on the pricy side, especially if you want designs but it's worth it. This salon is located in a large parking lot. I gave the salon a 2 star because I usually come here and the service is excellent and the work these hard working women and men do are worth their pricing. Unfortunately today, that was not the case. 3 of us came in for manicure and pedicures and there seemed to be an off putting vibe in the salon. Any small request seem an inconvenience for the workers. This is was very surprising. I have not had my nails or toes done since Covid began, and to finally feel safe and use money on self care and experience poor service is unimaginative. Very disappointed. My usual nail technician is out on maternity leave and she would have ensured my experience is flawless. I was embarrassed because I convinced relatives to try out this salon. I went today to get a manicure. The only plus was that I didn't have to wait very long. All the nail techs seemed to be super rushing through everything. I told them what I wanted and they basically ignored my request. I said I wanted a gel manicure with a specific dip powder top coat. The girl straight ignored my request and said she'd only do dip powder. COVID guidelines weren't being followed, hand sanitizer wasn't offered, there was plexiglass but no one was 6 feet apart. Nothing was sanitized in between clients. In fact, the gal pulled out a cuticle clipper from a box that look used and for sure not sanitized. Pricing- I'm utterly confused by what I got charged. I told the gal what I wanted, which she basically told me she would only do dip powder not gel. She said she'd test it out to make sure I liked it. So I agreed to that. She asked if I wanted my cuticles cut. Once this was done and she moved onto getting the dip powders she told me it would $72 total. And I asked what the pricing was for each item, she said $10 for a cuticle cut! Uhh what, isn't that normally included? I included the pricing list in the pictures and it says $5 for a cuticle cut. The entire services I received don't add up to $72 according to their pricing. Quality- the gal was super rough with me and keep telling me to relax my fingers, over and over. She kept getting the nail filer tool, like the plug in one, to buff and shape my nails. It was getting really hot and she was getting super close to my cuticles. It hurt! In fact, 6 hours later my cuticles hurt from being dug into so deeply because she keep going around and deep into the sides. The shape of my nails is really square and not nicely done either. The manicure was done super quickly, roughly and then they don't do massages on your arms or hands. Put lotion on or anything. It was literally just nails painted and some cuticle oil. read more

This salon is very disappointing. The person who claims to be the manager is terrible and He also always asks for cash payments, which is suspicious. My husband went for payment and he was hassling him to pay cash.... Why do you even think you have the right to ask a paying customer? He does this every time! When I called and asked for Cindy to set up a VIP pedicure and basic manicure for my husband, the total should have been $100, but instead, they charged me $128. When I asked for the manager, the man on the phone said he was the manager but then gave the phone to Cindy. She explained that the extra charge was for paraffin wax on my husband's feet and hands, but she lied when I asked if she had told my husband about the extra cost. He had no idea about it. It's strange that she put paraffin wax on his hands because that's not something most men would want. I booked her because I trusted her and spoke with her on the phone, she said that she would take care of him. I told her exactly what we wanted but instead she took advantage.... What a shame It's not just about the money, though. The last few times I booked an appointment with Van, I ended up with someone else, which is frustrating. And even though my husband tipped Cindy $20, they still didn't give us good service. I won't be going back to this salon again and I'll make sure to tell my friends and family to avoid it too. I recommend going to Rosehip Salon in Fremont instead. They're a great place that won't try to scam you, and they keep their salon very clean and hygienic. read more

I sat down w KC and began asking her powder suggestions, her answer idk and no. Then I asked her if she can do designs for me, no.So then I showed her some pics from the salons IG, yet again no. So I just settled on a basic set. Took 2 hours to finish my nails and I had a lot of glue stuck on my skin so she filed them pretty hard. Kinda left unsatisfied but whatever. UPDATE: manager reached out to me very politely and offered to help fix my nails. Very nice team at yvonnes, will continue to come I still like their service and nails even if this one was a bit of a sticky situat. lol read more

This place is usually really good, but I don't know what happened today. I was disappointed with the outcome. As always, they're pretty busy but they're always able to seat you quickly, so that's a plus! I'm sitting and showing the manicurist a picture of what I wanted & she said she could do it. I was going for a "red winter candy cane/snowflake" design. PLEASE refer to the pictures. She starts drawing the snowflake & at first glance I was thinking "hmm....idk about that..." I decided to be patient & just see how it progresses. The manicurist is nice & she's delicate with her movements. I'm not the type to say anything, but I just couldn't keep it to myself. I finally found it in myself to say something to her that I didn't like it . I asked her if she can just do a more simple flower design. At first she was hesitant-she started speaking Vietnamese to the other lady. Just looking at the other lady's reaction to her snowflake drawing just confirmed with me that it wasn't nice.. I'm the end, she did change the design BUT even that was mediocre.. In cost $50 for the service & I did tip her $5. Just really disappointed, I don't like it read more

I've been here a few times and the lady definitely jacked up the prices on me too despite waiting so long she was not apologetic. The man in the front just makes up excuses. I called the day before too to see what time I should come in and the guy told me 11. The wait was so long, this place is not worth wasting my time. Last time I came in I also had to wait over 40 minutes. Their pedicure made my toe nails yellow. I think I'll be moving on from this establishment and looking for something different. So I've been coming to Yvonne's for almost 2 years now...not for Yvonne, but for mahhhh gurrrrrl, Helen! Helen is super sweet, thorough and always consistent. If you have the slightest facial expression/body language that you aren't feelin' what your see, she'll do anything to make it right. She's also talented when it comes to brow waxing so hit her up! Overall this nail salon is almost always busy when I come in, and I've been in during the week in the morning, afternoon and evening. Also the weekends?! Forget it. It's like Costco, avoid it like the plague. The weekends are super-duper-ridiculously BUSY. Best recommended to schedule an appointment to get the time you would like, although be prepared to wait even though you have a "scheduled" appointment. I have never started my appointment on time. Helen is awesome at gel pedicures and manicures. They offer a lot of color options. You'll see when you get here that they have mock nail color popsicles for you to chose from. They should change up how they show all the colors because their current way isn't all that great. Do I recommend Yvonne's to friends and family? Yes. Can you call me a faithful client? Hell yeah. Good points- I walked in and requested an appointment, they were able to take me in same day in the afternoon. To some extent good covid safety protocols. Just that they need to enforce it more. Some manicure tables didnt had partition yet every station was occupied. This place is pretty much minting money in a very automated manner. This place is a perfect example of automation industry of manicures and pedicures. The service I got done was both manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was $50 not that cheap but the service I got was completely unsatisfactory. The person who did my pedicure was "Thuy". The person had hard time understanding English, secondly you got to have some energy when performing this job. The amount of massage they did was negligible, I got callus treatment done and at the end of the pedicure my feet look cracked, not sure what was the value add of pedicure. I agree I walked in with bad feet as I have extreme dry feet but in my experience of 15 years of pedicure this was the worst. Pretty much no effort from the beautician and yet my $90 is gone. Try to put some effort when you are in this business. People come to get better looking feet and hands. read more

My first time coming to the salon today. I got here before they opened and I'm so glad I did, because it filled up quick! I got my pedicure first ($30 for basic) and I enjoyed it very much! It came with a hot stone massage too, and for a basic pedi that's a plus! Then, I got sat down at a table to do my acrylic fill. Let me tell you the guy assigned to do this for me did an amazing job! He took his time to make sure the shape and filing was P E R F E C T and it was! I showed him a picture and he executed it just how I wanted it. I got an acrylic fill. Instead of gel polish he used color acrylic powders! Also added gold flakes and fixed a broken nail beforehand. 10/10 experience, I'll be back! Next time I will make sure to get names! I've been to Yvonne's nails a few times for different things. I've been here for a manicure, pedicure and waxing. The staff is always kind and I've never had a problem. Unfortunately this time I got my nails dipped and I did that on the 28th of March now it's currently April 2nd and already I see some chipping and some of the dip is separating from the nail. I've had my nails dipped a couple times now and always had it stay on for weeks looking perfect. I was very disappointed with it not lasting as long, I would recommend Yvonne for everything else but I was very bummed about my dipped manicure...
