With so many positive reviews we expected something special. The owner was very engaging and informed us on local sites to see. We brought friends with us on our way to St. Augustine and I had talked up this place based on reviews. It is very small and with dogs allowed in the eating area you will come in contact (allergies). We ordered and waited a bit before 3 of our 4 orders appeared. The bagels were okay, but the scrambled eggs with cheese appeared with two pieces of cold cheese sitting on top with no chance of melting. My order was "lost" with an explanation that there was a new cook. My eggs likewise came out with a slice of cold cheese on top. We were served on paper plates. I should have done more homework before bringing our friends here. read more

Wow, what a little find. We were traveling on I-95 and wanted to get away from chain restaurants for breakfast. Based on positive Yelp reviews, we took the 15-minute drive to Zaba's and were so glad we did. Our coffee and breakfasts were very good. My kids especially enjoyed the grilled doughnuts. The owner was so nice and we got a good flavor of the area. He let us try the Cajun boiled peanuts and we purchased the local beef jerky for the car ride home. After breakfast, we drove a few short blocks and let the kids put their feet in the ocean before we headed north again on I-95. read more

I like this place. Great little sandwiches. One issue, I don't eat meat. All of their sandwiches have meat. If you order it without meat, you are still charged full price. They need to adjust their menu to include a price for an egg and cheese bagel. What would really make me do backflips would be if they got turkey sausage (boyfriend's fave) or veggie patties! If you are visiting St Augustine this place is a must for breakfast food, and they serve breakfast all the way up to 3:00. What a great find Zabas is! Brandon, the owner, makes you feel welcome and knows everyone's name who walks through the door. It's a funky coffee shop with great food and a casual, beach vibe. Funky little place with super staff or owner. Coffee is good and the menus is very simple. The kind of place where you are not a stranger at any point. This is a local place that is owned by two former St. Augustine carriage drivers. That we were lucky enough to meet. They spent an hour telling stories of ALL the work, dedication, time, training and love that goes into the horse drawn carriage business. We loved it! What a wonderful little spot! We stayed in St. Augustine at a nearby hotel for a night and were looking for a quick but satisfying breakfast as we headed south out of town.
