We came in on New Year's Day, they were the only restaurant open in castle rock, and they were super busy. The kitchen was really backed up and our food took over 45 minutes... but... the way that the FOH staff handled the situation was perfect. We never felt like an inconvenience and they wanted us to have an enjoyable experience. Which we absolutely did. The food was amazing, and absolutely worth the wait. No one is perfect. So, I have been to this place a few times and I can say that I want to like it. It appears clean and the staff is friendly but they are clearly in over their heads. Wait times for getting greeted and waited on are long. I sat by the door last time and watched 3 families walk out because nobody was at the hostess stand to greet them. The pizza we ordered was good but I ordered a sandwich that comes with spicy peppers and asked for them to be omitted. Got our food and they were there. The waitress was really nice and apologized for forgetting. No big deal. The manager came over and apologized and said they would bring me a new one. Nice, I liked that they were attentive. 2 min later they bring me the same sandwich with most of the peppers picked off! I could have done that myself. The pepper juice is very spicy and soaked into the bread so it doesn't matter that they took some of them off. It is still too spicy! The manager offered to make a new one and at that point my son was finished with his meal and I just wanted to go home. They gave us free dessert to make up for it. We had a Neopolitan pepperoni and a Sicilian Works, an antipasto salad, and an order of garlic Parmesan bites. Overall the pizza tasted better than Dominos, but it wasn't as good as other pizza places in town. It was way over priced. A pizza should not cost $34. Our total after tax was $80! Prices weren't on the website, so I was a bit sticker shocked. I doubt I'll be back. read more

Ok to begin with the wings are amazinggggg! It's a cute little bar/restaurant. Has a few tables outside for you to enjoy the outdoors if desired. It is dark inside but in a building that has attached business's on each side and above. No where for windows except front.. still fixed up really nice! Servers are very friendly and very attentive! Tried this place for the first time. The menu sounded so good and I was excited. My husband and I both ordered an appetizer and entree. The meatball sliders were okay but lacked sauce. The garlic parmesan wings had no garlic parmesan flavor. They would be so much better wet than with the dry rub. I ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich and again, barely any sauce and that made the sandwich dry and unenjoyable. I did end up asking to get a side of sauce but the sandwich had very little cheese as well and you could tell it was a Sysco bought breaded chicken fillet and not house-made. Just not impressed at all :( my husband did really enjoy his Italian beef sandwich. I'd likely try coming once more for the pizza but the first experience was a mediocre one. read more

A new Italian place in Castle Rock right on the main drag. That translates to no parking to start off. The quality of the food was very good and it was authentic tasting. The portion size for lunch was a bit on the skimpy side. Pizza was very good. Regular entrees were also very good. Lunch was $20 each which is on the high side. Went at 5:30 on a Friday night, barely beat the rush and got there in time for happy hour, 1/2 priced wings were a great start with $2.00 beers. 5 in our party, got pizza and pasta, everything was very good. I really wanted to like this place as a CR resident, especially because it's placed in the heart of our downtown. When we arrived however, there wasn't anyone to greet my wife and I or the group that arrived shortly ahead of us. The group ahead ultimately ended up just sitting down at a nearby table and it took another 5 for someone to seat us since we weren't bold enough to choose a table for ourselves. The service was alright, but we waited over 15 minutes for a server since, I was told, ours forgot that he or she was assigned to our table. The food was decent, but similar to something that I would expect at Olive Garden and not what I had hoped for out of this downtown CR restaurant. We both ordered pasta dishes so I can't comment on the pizza at this point, but based on my experience, I can't say I will go back to give it another shot. The interior however was quaint and what I had expected. A bit noisy, but we had a larger party behind us and something to be expected of a bar/restaurant. Overall, I was disappointed, but I hope they can turn it around with better service and a bit more unique and higher quality food. read more

We stopped by Z'Abbracci after a long hike because we were feeling some Italian food. And I'm so glad we did. The pizzas are huge and downright amazing. It was so good we came back again the next week. We ordered the Burrata and it was so simple and delicious. What really was the icing on the cake was our waitress Natalia. Wonderful Italian food. I had pizza, my mother and father had linguine with clam sauce, my brother had lobster risotto, and my sister had a pasta marinara dish. Everything was wonderful. The owner came out to say hello personally. They traded my older parents like royalty. The food was ok but the service was horrible. Placed a mojito drink order and waitress came back 20 minutes later telling us no mints at the bar and they couldn't do our drinks. I'm here in Castle Rock visiting my extended family, we decided to go to lunch here. We walked in and there was only 2 other parties in the restaurant(it's was 1 pm on a Thursday). There was not a hostess to greet us, after about a minute or 2 we hear a "Hi! Welcome!" Coming from the back and a girl walking towards us. Oddly enough I didn't think this would be the hostess because she was wear a shirt that was falling off her shoulder and showed her stomach. We asked if they were serving lunch and she said no. We looked at her confused and asked what the other people were eating then. She just handed us a menu(I don't know what type of menu this was, but we ordered off of it). My mother was a bit confused about the whole situation because we were told they weren't serving lunch yet they handed us a menu with no explanation. We sit down and ponder what to order while casually laughing off the ditz at the door, we were ready to order in about 10+ minutes and no waitress came to assist us. We looked around for a bit wondering where she would be. Then we decided to let the hostess who was clearing the table by us that we were ready to order. We ordered and the food was delicious! Although the service didn't get any better. We were sitting in a booth across from the kitchen, meanwhile our waitress is yelling at this one female cook and cursing at her. Then comes back about 15 minutes later begging another female cook to make her food. Poor cooks, they both had a disgusted annoyed face after the conversation with her, I assume this wasn't their first negative experience. This restaurant has great food, but terrible service. I wouldn't come back just because of the unfriendly behavior by the front of the house! read more

Do not order the Italian Beef Sandwich. The beef was dry and lacked flavor. I expected it to be sliced nice and thin but I was given huge hunks of dry fatty meat on bread with a side of au jus. I had someone else at my table try it and they said the meat tasted old and actually spit it out. Service was bizarre. Our server cleared full, uneaten plates off our table without a word. Pretty rough go for Z'Abbracci's this evening. We joined another family there for dinner. The waitress greeted us fairly quickly and we ordered drinks for our family. Once we received drinks and ordered our dinner, it was downhill after that. It took a very long time to get our salads, and there was no follow up on drinks or whether or not we needed anything else. We finally got the gentlemen who brought our appetizers out to get us another round of drinks, but it was apparent that he was busy as well. The original waitress served the drinks and the food was delivered quite a while later. The family we were with had ordered a pizza, which was completely charred on the bottom. They returned the pizza after having to wait five minutes in order to get someones attention, and again, no follow up from anyone. While the food was quite good, there was no attention to anything regarding our food, drinks, or basic customer satisfaction. We had to flag down another waitress and a hostess to get our bill. No food or plates were cleared off the table after we ate, and again, nobody checked to see if we needed anything else. I have had some bad meals, and we are typically very accommodating folks when it comes to restaurant service, but this was about as awful as it gets. The bill was brought, and a minimal apology was given. Sorry, while we like to support local restaurants, this one is off the list for us. We will not be back. Plenty of other good Italian restaurants in the Castle Rock area. There was also a promotion going on called "pie day" in which you get a free 10" pizza with your order. We mentioned this to the waitress, and that is where it stopped. No mention of it after and obviously no pizza. read more

Atmosphere is 4stars, but the food is sub par. Salads were wilted and room temperature, risotto listed in several places on the menu was gluey, thick, and uneatable, not creamy and freshly made. I ordered delivery tonight. Had been told by a friend the food was good and since I was not feeling great and home with my 2 kids, I decided to try it out since they delivered. The food arrived 40 mins after the estimated delivery time, which was an 1hr 40 mins after I ordered. The food came and the boxes were warped. I had ordered 2 calzones, which were soggy, and a kids spaghetti, total was $46 with tip. I had the pesto calzone which probably would be really good if it were fresh. Since the order was so late, I didn't want to wait to cook it in the oven and crisp it up. My son said the spaghetti was good and he would eat it again. Will never do delivery again. Might try take out or dining in, but not sure. Feel like I wasted a lot of money tonight. read more

That pizza, tho!! We've been in several times, and have never been disappointed. The first time we were in was a couple of weeks after the opening. The chef/owner came by and spoke with us. We said the thin-crust pizza was true east-coast pizza and we hadn't had anything like it in altitude-challenged Colorado! So hard to bake good bread or pizza crust here. The chef said he took TWO YEARS to perfect his crust. It certainly paid off! Such a great chew and flavor. If you want a pie you can fold in half and shove in your face, this is it. It's a cute place, right in downtown Castle Rock. The servers have all been nice and efficient. We go back a lot. :-) read more

We went here tonight with friends for a "quick" dinner before the concert at the MAC. We arrived at 5:35 & were seated promptly. Young, energetic waiter brought water immediately & took our drink orders. He came back & said that 1 of the beers we ordered was not available. Fine, no big deal. When he came to take our order, we ordered an appetizer & our meals. He then returned & told us that the "Fried Ravioli" was no longer an option on the menu. (Even though it was still on the menu!) At this point, the waiter was still super nice & fun, so we laughed it off. Again, fine- no big deal. After about 15 minutes, we started realizing that other tables were getting their appetizers. Then getting their dinners!! We started noticing plates of food & pizzas going by to tables that were seated after us. We flagged down our waiter & he promised that our dinner was "coming right up"! After about 5-7 more minutes, our friend went to inquire. It was now 6:20 & no food. The waiter said he notified the manager & someone would be coming over. Not only did a manager not even come over, it seemed that our once attentive waiter was now avoiding us. We couldn't even find him! At 6:30, we decided to just close our drink tab & leave. BUT, we couldn't find our waiter so we went up to the bar! The bar said they would notify our waiter to take care of it, so we sat back down. Still waiting on food...thinking if it came right away, we would just try to eat quick & leave. Suddenly, 2 out of our 4 dinners arrived. Our friend's Clam Linguini (which the waiter suggested!) was cold & dry. The sandwich my husband ordered came a couple of minutes later. We were still waiting on the 4th dinner (a SALAD!!) at 6:45. The concert at the MAC started at 7. We knew they had food trucks there, so we decided to cut our losses & leave. We left money on the table for our beers & just left. We had been there for OVER AN HOUR & no manager or ANYBODY addressed our issue. Clearly our order was not put in or something! The waiter knew that there was a problem but didn't come back over to face us or help take care of it. Very, VERY disappointed. Small town Castle Rock does not deserve (or NEED!) such a low level of service & concern in the small town restaurant business.... If you are reading this review to decide where to go, keep looking!! Seriously! Don't waste your money or your time. Like I said, it's understandable if a mistake happens (like the order didn't get put in!), but when they don't own up to it & deal with it to make it right....EPIC FAIL. I hope an owner or manager reads this because word travels fast (& YELP!) in this small town. We have lived in Castle Rock for 20 years and have watched restaurants come and go. We stopped by on a weeknight this week about 7 pm and the place was "hopping". Our waitperson, Kenzie, was delightful. Everyone in the place was working hard and consistently, and they all seemed to help each other out. The food was delicious -- well prepared and best pizza crust I've had EVER. Only place I've been able to find Henry Weinhard's Root Beer too. Good selection of craft beers as well. So happy to have Z'Abbracci as an option now! read more

Pizza subsequently was Luke warm cause she took it out while she waited for the other computer. Sicilian is suppose to be a thick crust- this is just a thin square pizza. The meatball appetizer alone was worth the drive from Denver. This spot is nestled into downtown Castle Rock and is wonderful. The decor is nice inside, but the food was fantastic. Me and my partner had an absolutely amazing time at Z'Abbracci. We sat at the bar and our bartender, MaCray, was friendly and prompt and absolutely lovely. She did a fantastic job, as did the rest of the staff. Upon entry were greeted warmly by the hostess and decided to sit at the bar, our drinks were delicious and affordable, our food was equally as amazing. The atmosphere was pleasant and warm, music was great. The manager, Jenna, came over to check on us and make sure everything was good. That level of involvement is rare to find from a manager and we were very impressed. She was kind and professional and lovely to interact with. As a reward for our workout at the incline in CR this past Sat we ate lunch here, what a reward it was! Everything we ordered was very tasty and cooked perfectly. We are big fans of Neapolitan crust and high end ingredients. We know it costs more for the ingredients you are using and appreciate your attention to detail. To top it off we enjoyed the local taps.
