I grew up on MediCal in the 90's and early 00's and my dentist experiences were always traumatic. I also didn't go to the dentist for about 11 years before I started coming here and was afraid this office would be rude/condescending and that my experience would be painful because of the state of my teeth. Dr. A and his team never cease to make me feel calm. They are very respectful and jovial and knowledgeable. Also, I sometimes have to reschedule due to anxiety and they are always understanding and kind. Dentistry itself has significantly progressed since the 90's so the treatments/cleanings are never painful or even terribly loud. I ended up having one tooth that couldn't be saved due to decay but my care was excellent and they continue to care for my oral health. I wish that I had grown up with a dentist like Dr. A because I think I wouldn't have so much anxiety about my own oral care and doctors in general. read more

I am so happy I found this dental office!! During these crazy times I was a bit nervous to visit a dental office but they made me feel safe! I called to check in for my appointment for X-rays and I was about 30 mins early and they were able to take me back and get started right away. Also the office felt safe, clean and sanitized and everyone was wearing masks and proper gear. The X-ray tech was amazing, super friendly and she made the whole process quick and easy! I also scheduled an appointment with the dentist on a video call and he was AMAZING! I felt I was really taken care of and listened to and haven't had this type of experience with a dentist since I was a child. They really made me feel comfortable and I felt they were very honest about what I need done. I look forward to making this my new dental home. Everyone in the office was sunny and wonderful. Taylor especially is a light! Taylor made an everyday xray a great experience. They also took special care and time with my standard cleaning which I appreciated. While I don't love telemedicine when talking with the primary dentist, I did like the high definition images of my teeth so I could see th tartar and buildup in detail. In terms of treatment, yes they did advise multiple cleanings with an additional monthly cost and other treatments. Some treatments were for preventative care and others more urgent. They gave me a variety of treatment plans and payment options to make my own choices at my discretion. Maria was very polite and took time to explain everything. The equipment was state of the art and I was amazed at the 3D imaging system that could display every tooth, back and front, so the dentist could explain in detail about my dental health. Well I HAD hoped I could have changed my original review by now but unfortunately I cant. After all the issues with communication here, rescheduling me for an appointment I had made a month earlier, without bothering to discuss that WITH me and so I had to re-schedule AGAIN. I've been waiting for a good month now to get my two crowns put on at this place, the gal at front desk, Jennifer, apparently had OLD information from Delta Dental (my insurance) so I suggested she get the updated version from 2024 instead of the one she was using from 2019. After several conversations with her I was unable to get my crowns for the price I was supposed to be paying per Delta Dental. Zak Dental HAS a contract with Delta and yet they were unable to discuss that intelligently with me. As of todays phone call she informed me that I did not get to choose my crown material, that the doctor did! Odd, I've always been able to do that previously and I see no reason why I shouldnt be able to do that now. They sent me an invoice with SIX crowns shown on the billing, two of which were their own expensive "in-house" crowns that I repeatedly told her I did not want and Delta Dental wouldn't pay for! I felt like I was talking to a brick wall literally. After telling me that our phone conversation would be recorded, my response was "good!", she then proceeded to talk over me the entire time, thereby not hearing anything I was saying and vice versa. I am beyond frustrated at this point and disappointed, again. read more

Hi Dr. Zak. While I appreciate your willingness to reach out to me, here's the bigger question: why didn't Dr. Dominic Gallo bring this to your attention or your leadership's team attention? Why did this just sit with zero follow up and zero concern until I wrote a review on Yelp? That's what I mean when I'm talking about zero concern from Dr. Gallo. He didn't care and just swept it under the rug. What has your team done with regards to this patient interaction and "coaching" or otherwise investigation to Dr. Gallo's treatment that day, as well as his lack of concern and lack of bringing it to your attention? As a result of his behaviors and choices, you're now having to deal with a bad Yelp review. That rests squarely on him. The fact he didn't care about my pain or suffering, and didn't even take the measures to replace the dental cleaning tool so he could completely finish the appointment should be very concerning to you. Instead of replacing the non-functioning part, he just ended the appointment. So rather than you reaching out to me, I would strongly suggest you outreach directly to Dr. Gallo for some insight to how that whole patient experience was handled and why there was no follow up to the patient, as well as why leadership at Zak Dental was not informed of the experience. The hygienist at the second appointment was nice--no issues with her. Is he a good representative for Zak Dental? And again, why would your clinic not just schedule me with the very same dentist that my wife had, especially when that is what I was told? I was told I'd have the same hygienist and same dentist, since they were the reason I was referred to Zak Dental. Lots of missed opportunity along the way here on this patient journey, including scheduling. Based on my experiences here, I stand behind my initial review which is simply do yourself a favor and avoid Zak Dental at all costs. Find another clinic. read more

Well that was interesting! I wasn't aware that this was a tele-dentistry office. They do have new technology with xrays and you do get to see it all displayed in front of you in detail on a screen. The dentist and assistant pop up on the screen and they go over your x-rays and billing right there. You decide what you want done. No high pressure sales pitch. No cavities! But I did need a cleaning and they did that with an actual person there. Took a little while longer than I normally spend at the dentist but it was thorough. read more

This dentist is a vital appointment. You don't see an actual dentist you see him on a computer screen so they don't actually look at your teeth . Just the X-ray. Then try and get you for thousands ($2800.00 to be exact). It was a cracked tooth and were trying to get me to put a crown on it . If you're looking for a new dentist office in Temecula/ Murrieta area that is kid friendly. I recommend this office. I did my research online for a couple of weeks before I to choose to come in and give it a try myself before I took my child in. My son is on the Spectrum and he has a lot of behaviors that made me very nervous to take him to the dentist. When we got there, the staff was very attentive offered him toys and provided a safe and calm environment for my son to be comfortable in. They even played cartoons for him when they noticed that he was getting a little bit nervous, gave him stickers and provided an interactive playful experience to get through his dentist appointment with no problem. Since the staff was so professional, I will now be recommending this dental office to my friends family, and other parents that have kiddos on the spectrum that are scared to take their children to just any dental office. I don't like to write any negative reviews for anyone , but unfortunately I feel that some businesses deserve that because they don't care about their clients or customers!! This place is very unorganized their staff are not paying attention to your case I waited very long to get results back from the staff , but never heard back anything every time I called and asked them they act like they have no know idea although they told me every time we are working with insurance and you must wait!! It's been a couple of months since I am waiting for an appointment but after I called today the receptionist couldn't even speak English very well and after i explained three times he was completely lost!! This office is AMAZING! My daughter is 6 and she loved Dr. A and all the staff! They all made her very comfortable the second we walked in and made it fun for my daughter. She got xrays done, a nice cleaning and the dentist checked all her teeth before entering grade school. They gave her a cute goodie bag when she was all finished too which she loved.
