This Zales by far has the best customer service of any of the three that I've ever been to. My husband recently needed his ring re-sized and both of our rings needed to be sent in for polishing. The lady that sent them off under-promised and over-delivered: She said it would take a couple of weeks to get them back, but we received them a few days earlier. If you feel naked without your ring, then you understand how I feel. She encouraged us to look at our rings before we left. Also, during our first visit this sales rep QUICKLY helped me update my contact information. This Zales in particular is a decent size with a nice variety of inventory. I recommend, though, that if you are in the market for an engagement ring to "Design Your Own." They were exceptionally rude and unhelpful to me when I came in to have my wedding band inspected to maintain its warranty. I had called another location to verify it would be okay if I brought in my piece without the original paperwork, and was told it would be okay. But this location told me that since I did not have the original paperwork, they would not be able to look at the ring for me at all. Furthermore, they told me that since I was not the original purchaser of the ring, my husband would have to return to the original Zales where we bought the ring to have them get me a new warranty paper. This is an incredible inconvenience to us, and I just got the feeling that they did not want to bother with me since I was not there to make a purchase. This is 2019, can't they keep these type of records filed electronically to make it easier for customers? And I see in the other comments that I am not the only person this has happened to. Beware! I wanted these earrings I saw online and sales associate Jenny wanted to sale them for a higher price than online. I thought that didn't make any sense so I asked questions. She took forever to come back after talking to another sales associate Ana. Then Jenny told me the item didn't show up online, however she was on zalesoutlet.com. After I pointed out the trick she was playing, she then found it on zales.com. Then said it's not in stock when online it said it's in stock. When asked how often your online stock updates Ana couldn't provide an answer. Left without buying anything. read more

Disappointed :( We got my wedding ring during quarantine through the mail and when this location opened up for curbside I called 3 weeks in a row and was told their repairs department was closed so that I can get my ring resized. This week I was told it would be another 3 weeks. I decided to call a near by location and they not only answered the phone on the first ring but told me to go right in and I can get it resized. He told me that these locations use the same repairs department and doesn't know why this location would tell me that. I've always been very intimidated coming to jewelry stores, simply because I feared being pressured into making a big purchase then and there. That was not the case with this Zales. I walked in early morning and was kindly greeted by Carol. I explained to her that I was really interested into purchasing a ring, but didn't know what style or size. She gladly helped me and we narrowed it down to the perfect ring! She was very straight forward about the total price, which I appreciate! At times sales reps don't wanna give you an exact price simply because they don't wanna scare you off. But she was straight forward! I left her my name and number because I wasn't ready to make the purchase just yet. Which she understood and wasn't pushy! She called me two days after saying the ring was discounted for 20% off. I called over the phone, asked to locate my account for my warranty. I was informed that the phone number I m giving them has a different name. I came into the store. Explained what I said to a staff member. She asked me what can she do. I told her she is not helpful and walked away.I came back to ask for her name, and she left me midway to go ask someone to help me. I asked her again of her name, and she ignored me, not wanting me to know her name. I asked another staff member, she told me her name was Emma. Solid customer service! I placed an order online for earrings and went in to pick it up. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, the only thing is that it took the sales lady a little while to find my order but other than that she was very efficient and allowed me to check out my jewelry purchase before I left the store and she wasn't bothered with how much time I took inspecting my earrings. After I finished my purchase, the sales lady offered to show me the new Vera Wang collection of rings. It was funny because I'm not currently shopping for rings but she said I should have one or two picked out, "just in case". She was very sweet and was possibly bored since the store wasn't very busy but she entertained me and I now know more about Vera Wang and her jewelry than I did before. I went in to exchange a defective item we bought on 11/29/19, Black Friday. My fiancee and I went in and made a purchase of $854.39. We bought my wedding band and he purchased my Christmas present as well, a pair of diamond stud earrings. I barely put them on about a month later since it was my Christmas present. One of the back pieces of the studs was defective and kept falling off on its own. I went in to exchange it. Carmen, the woman who sold us the studs was there to assist me. She wanted to just give me a random back piece and I said no. I wanted to exchange the product since I do have a 60 day return/exchange policy. She said she could not since the pricing had gone up. After a little back and forth she agreed to exchange the pair there since they had it. She then said, "ok I will do it under the table to help you out". This seemed really odd to me. I do not want anything under the table. She was not doing me favor, I am a paying customer who got a defective item. She told me she could not give me any paperwork for it or if I wanted paperwork, she would charge me. I asked to speak to her manager after she began to get rude. She went to the manager and I followed her. The manager was also trying to charge me for the pair of earrings since they had gone up in price. This is completely insane and wrong. How and why would I be charged for exchanging a defective item. It is not my fault that after wearing the pair for 2 days they are defective. I then told them that if that was the case, I would be returning the studs and band and go elsewhere. The manager told Carmen she would do the exchange and take care of me. Carmen very rudely walked away, did not even excuse herself or anything. This is extremely unprofessional of her. She was so nice and helpful when I made a purchases of almost $900.00 a month ago. However, she is rude and unprofessional when I am asking to exchange an item that is defective. I was not asking for anything extreme. I told the manager this. How I felt about Carmen and her customer service as well. Both were very unprofessional. Being that I was there, I was coming in to make an additional purchase of a princess ring that is in the collection you guys are advertising, as well as my fiancee's wedding band. DON't, I repeat DON't purchase any jewelry from this Zales!!!! Against my brother's better judgement, he did not do his research before purchasing an engagement ring for his then judgment. My younger brother purchased an engagement ring from this Zales and proposed to his then girlfriend on December 25, 2014. The next day he took the ring back to Zales to get it re-sized. The associate who helped my brother told him that the ring would be ready for pick up on the 31st of December. On the 31st, my brother went into the store - thinking he was going to get the ring. Unfortunately, that was not the case. On the day in question, an associate informed my brother that the ring was not ready for pick up but that it would be in a week. A week later an associate informed my brother that the ring was not ready. Of course, my brother was irritated and asked when it would be ready. The associate told my brother to call back in a week. Fast forward a week and the ring is still not ready nor was it at that location. Upon questioning by my brother, no one in the store was able to tell my brother where the ring was at or when it would be ready. After a heated discussion, my brother asked for the manager. The manager did nothing but offer him a 20 dollar gift card for his inconvenience on a ring that cost over 2000 dollars! At this point, my brother asked for her supervisors number, to no avail. The manager not only refused to give her supervisors number but she also refused to give him the number to the corporate headquarters. After doing some research, my brother found corporate's number. To his surprise, they told him that they were unable to do anything and that he would have to go back to the store. On January 20, 2015, my brother still did not have the ring. After returning to that same location, the manager offered 300 dollar credit toward his purchase but was unable to give specifics about the location of the engagement ring or reason for the delay. Today ( Feb 03, 2015) my brother calls me and explain the situation. I am a lawyer and advised my brother to seek a refund and if one is not provided to sue for breach of contract. The moral of the story is that like the person who previously gave a one star review, something is definitely shady about this particular Zales. Trust me, DON't buy any piece of Jewelry from this location, you'll be sorry. read more

This review is for the Zales store inside the Stonewood Mall. I was given a ring from Zales about a year ago and hadn't had an issue until just recently. I brought the ring in to have a stone replaced because one of the small accent stones had fallen out of the band. The woman behind the counter looked at the ring and casually mentioned that it would probably cost about $40 to replace the stone, and sent it in for a quote. A few days later I received a call saying that it would be $90 for the repair. $90 seemed incredibly steep for something so small, especially since the ring itself only cost $200. I asked what exactly would be done to my ring and was only told "the cost is for repair and labor." Fast forward a few days and my ring was ready for pickup. I came in to the store and was shown the ring, and sure enough, the accent stone had been replaced. The next day I noticed that something didn't look right. The main diamond in my ring, the center stone, was now noticably smaller than when I had sent it in for repair. I called the repair line and asked what exactly they had done to my ring, and again, I was given no specifics and was told to take it back to the store. When I met with the sales associate, I showed her my ring, along with the same ring as mine which was displayed in the store, and a picture that I had taken when I was originally gifted the ring, and she admitted that there was a difference in size, and said she would notify the manager. I ended up leaving my ring there, and was told that the manager would call me the next day to figure out how to fix the problem. The next day my boyfriend called me and told me that the manager had called about the ring and had told him that they were just going to replace it, and that we could come in to get it. When we got the the store and met with the manager, she immediately went on the defensive. I explained to her that my main stone had been replaced with something smaller and that it should have never been touched. She had my ring and was comparing it to the same ring from the display, and kept saying "are you sure there's a differrence, because I really can't tell.." I took out my phone to show her the pictures, since the lights in the store made it impossible to make out small details with all of the glare. Again, she told me she saw no difference. I pointed out a band of metal that hadn't been visible before, and she tried to tell me it was just glare, or that it was visible on both rings. She even made me take a picture of the display ring in the store to compare against the one I took when I originally got it, and she looked up other rings on the Zales site, trying to convince me I had bought something else. She finally said that she would go ahead and replace the ring. I gave her my paperwork and she said "Oh! You bought your ring in December of 2013? I thought you meant 2014. I can't replace it since it's 60 days past the date of purchase.." At this point I realized that they weren't even listening to what I had been saying. If I had bought the ring in 2014, why would I have been charged $90 to fix a stone if it was still under warranty? At last, I told her that if she couldn't do anything to fix my ring, I wanted the number of someone who would. Immediately the attitude changed and she said she would replace the ring "this time, as a customer service," as if she was doing me a favor. The entire ordeal took almost an hour and by the end I was livid. I can't believe the lenghts this store went to to try and deny that they had screwed up my ring. Also, the thought that I sent my ring in for repairs and had it returned to me with a smaller diamond is pretty sketchy, and no one at the store or on the repair line had any explanation as to why it was replaced. So now I'm out $90 for a repair on a ring that I don't even have anymore. Before this, I had absolutely loved my ring and Zales. I thought the quality and design were wonderful, and had even browsed the engagment rings while I was there sending my ring in for repairs the first time. But after this whole ordeal, I cringe at the thought of ever having to repair my ring again, and as for future purchases, they have absolutely lost a customer. My advice, if you ever send a piece of jewelry in for repair, photograph it first, just in case they try to pull this shit on other customers. read more

My boyfriend and I went into Zales to pick out a necklace for me for our one year anniversary and were very delighted at the selection they had available. We purchased it on my Zales credit account, so that we could make payments on it. We brought it home and I wore it that night. Unfortunately, I had to return it the next day because I got a rash from the jewelry (apparently I am now allergic to 14k gold.) So we brought it back and the return was simple. I met the manager and showed my ID for the return and the purchase, both times my boyfriend was with me. The purchase happened on Friday and the return on a Saturday. Two days later, on Monday, my boyfriend goes back to the store to see if he can find something else that I will be able to wear and picks out a beautiful bracelet. Well, he's there for about an hour and decides he wants to buy it and asks them to put it on my account. They told him he can't, that I have to be in the store with him, but we can get around this if I get him added as an authorized user on the account by calling the number on the back of my card OR by going to my online account. He comes home and explains the situation to me and I go online and add him as an authorized user immediately. Within 5 minutes, I get an email in my inbox stating that he is now an authorized user and he can use my credit account to make a purchase EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. So I send him back to the store with my phone that has the email pulled up on it stating that he is an authorized user and they give him the run around for an hour and a half only to tell him that he still cannot purchase the bracelet. Needless to say, we were both VERY frustrated. I called in to customer service the next day to see if they could help me with the situation, at least straighten out what the issue was for him to make a purchase and let them know that I was not a happy customer and would not be a customer if they didn't change anything. The first person I got through to, after 10 minutes of waiting, listened to my whole story, gave no feedback, and transferred me to someone else. The second person started yelling at me on the phone and I asked for her manager so she transferred me back to where the first person was working and I spoke with a third person there. The third person listened to my story and said she might be able to connect me to a manager. She put me on hold for another ten minutes and I finally got through to a manager. The manager was completely incompetent. She had me tell her the story AGAIN only to tell me, okay so what happened that angered you? I was like, is this woman not listening to me? Anyway, they were so nice to me when they thought they could make a purchase, but my bf goes back after we fulfill their requirements and they still make it impossible to make a purchase. I never write reviews, but for this experience I just had to, for the experience was horrible and frustrating.. My husband and I went into Zales looking for our wedding bands. We had previously browsed the website so we already knew what we wanted. Upon getting there a different ring caught my attention and I went with that choice instead. We made the purchase and we were told we would get our rings within 10 business days. My husbands ring arrived after only 3 days, mine however took an entire month! When the first week and a half passed by, I called and asked what the delay was ( for my wedding date was near), they kept telling me the same thing over and over, "it takes 10 days". After speaking with every associate and explaining to them that it's been more than the 10 days and still not getting an answer, I called the repair shop and THEY were the ones to inform me that they had sent the ring already but it was returned for an unknown reason. So I called the store again and that's when the lady told me that the ring was sized wrong., I was upset and told her that it was THEIR responsibility to inform me of the delay. She apologized and called the repair shop to let them know that my ring was now a "rushed" order and she promised me that it would be here the Wednesday before my wedding. Unfortunately my ring did NOT arrive and I had to reschedule my civil wedding. It wasn't that much of a big deal the first time because we were able to reschedule ONE TIME without having to pay. So I called again, spoke with the manager and she apologized (again) and spoke with the repair shop (again) and promised that it will be here the day before the (new) wedding date. When I went into the store to pick it up, To my surprise, the ring was still not there! I was beyond frustrated because I again had no choice but to reschedule the wedding, only this time paying for it again.. All they kept giving me were apologies and sympathetic looks. I again waited another week and I wasn't planning on rescheduling the wedding, so I was more that angry when again they told me that the ring had not arrived yet. Their solution was to take the one in store (which is TWO sizes bigger) and just return and exchange it when my ring arrived. Being annoyed and tired of the hole situation, I took it. Did my wedding, (not at all how it was supposed to happen the first time). The next day they called me and said my ring arrived. I was more than eager to finally have my own ring. Think I lived happily ever after? NO! I returned the very next day that I received the ring because, less than 24hrs of having the ring, I noticed that my finger was turning GREEN and that the ring looked brown and not rose gold. When I took the ring in, the manager has the audacity to ask me "what's wrong with it" It was hard to contain my laugh at the absurd question. I took her to the original ring and told her to hold them next to one another. All she said was "Ooh. This has never happened. It's just the color fading.." I was in disbelief and told her that the ring they gave me was completely a fake, that no REALS ring would tarnish, let alone in less than 24hrs. Having to deal with all this ordeal was very frustrating so I contacted the district manager and asked for a refund for my wedding fee that I lost for the first two times that I rescheduled, and for him to handle my purchase personally. In the end I still have to wait another month for my ring, for it will be a "special order" being created to my size from the getco, but I was refunded as well. Over all, my experience was very horrible and I wish for no one else to go through this. So be CAREFUL or just go to Kay jewelers, THEY are very helpful. read more

I really wanted this necklace that they have it shows online that they have it in stores so I went in to see it and turns out they didn't have it and I told the girl why does it show that u guys have it and I could book an appointment for anytime of the day ? Worst customer service ever! My pregnant wife went in for her parents' rings to be cleaned and replace the diamonds that had been lost, she had paid for both types of insurances the week before at the Citadel Zales. They told her she had to pay for the diamonds because she didn't have her insurance pamphlet, so she called the Citadel Zales and explained that none of the representatives/managers wanted to look her insurance with her phone # and ID saying that it's against policy. The manager from the Citadel Zales after many attempts and arguments with the staff finally got them to print out the pamphlet and service the rings. Never returning to this Zales again! The Citadel staff are the best for helping out and filing a complaint with the regional manager about this location. read more

Don't get a zales credit card. Customer service sucks different people different answers. Problem with my bill as I said different people different answer trying to charge me over $300 because they said I made a late payment 23 days after my bill was due. You would think during Covid they would give you a break after being a loyal customer but know all we can do is give you bullshit. Didn't even pay my mortgage to pay them $ hungry company off so I don't get charged interest and still we can't give you a break have to pay late fees. Every other credit card company given customers a break during this pandemic but not Zales we can set you up with a payment plan instead of acknowledging that there customer service miscommunicated and we will waive the late fees. I told them I would pay my balance off in 2 wks if they could just waive the late fees sorry we can't do that for you. that's why I canceled my card after being a loyal customer since 2017 spending thousands in that place every year since being a customer place never again. I was very skeptical about going to Zales to get my wedding ring because i read all of the reviews. However, my experience at this location was wonderful! My soon to be husband and I have been looking everywhere for the perfect wedding set and found it online at Zales. Being a woman i like seeing how something looks on me so once we found the rings we went in to try them on. Upon arriving I was greeted by Ana. I showed her the rings we wanted and since they were only online deals they didn't have it in store but she had a ring very similar to the one i liked so i tried it on and like how it looked. We are surprising my family who doesn't live in CA that we are getting married and are getting married in early December. We had been approved for the financing program that is 6month 0% interest when paid in full. The only downside was it takes 14 days to get the card! ahhhhhh. However, Ana explained to us they are able to order our rings and find the information in their system. It was a little bit of a wait for the customer service operator to find my husbands information. Once it was all said and done we are over the moon to be receiving our rings in about a week and a half just in time before our big day. Just want to say thanks to Ana and the Zales here in Downey. read more
