Today was my 6 month inspection, easy process now that the system keeps records. I used to have to bring my paperwork and it was not good if any of it got lost. Then they switched to printing out receipts at each visit, but now they don't print the receipts out. Save the paper! Oh, also today there was a diamond adjuster in store for an event! I overheard an issue with the employee asking him to do something he doesn't usually do for a customer. But I tried not to eavesdrop which is why I can't share the whole discussion. However, I know that he ended up making an exception since the customer had been waiting for over an hour already and since it's Valentine's week. I thought that was super accommodating. After an absolutely horrendous series of experiences (YES! Multiple) at the Southlake store, this Zales was a breath of fresh air. While I wasn't able to have my ring soldered how I wanted, I appreciate that they were honest about it and didn't force the rings together like the other Zales had. I've been a long-time customer of Zales, but unfortunately, my recent experience at the Denton Highway location has led me to reconsider my future business with the company. The manager, Sharon, was exceptionally unhelpful and dismissive, creating an unwelcoming environment that prevented any resolution to my concerns. However, during my third visit. A Zales associate--a tall, woman, likely in her late 40s, with naturally curly hair streaked with grey--provided excellent assistance. She was highly efficient, addressed my needs promptly, and ensured I received my jewelry without any further issues. Her professionalism and helpfulness were a stark contrast to my previous interactions." My husband and I purchased my engagement ring and pur wedding rings here. During the sale, we were sized incorrectly, and my engagement ring and wedding band were fused together too soon. My ring came back 3 weeks before our elopement. This was Oct. Right before Christmas, a prong failed, I had the main stone, prong, and ring in a baggie. I go back to this location. When I explain what is going on, there is no acknowledgment of concern, not even an apology. Instead, all I got was do you have your paperwork. Rude! We have a credit card with Zales, and it will not ever have another charge on it. I won't spend any more money with the brand. read more

The blonde manager (didn't catch her name) shut and locked the doors tonight at 8pm as three different groups of people were walking to the door. I had been in an hour earlier for a ring cleaning and was not even acknowledged so I decided to try again later, only to have the door shut and locked as I pulled up to the door an hour before the closing time posted on the website and on the door (9pm). The manager said through the door that they closed early as their winter hours were starting today... on January 3rd, but the time changes were not posted anywhere. Shady vibes all around. read more

I purchased a $1,400 ring for my husband at this location, we had it sized and when we went to pick up a week later the ring was no longer circular, but a little oblong and it the ring had very noticeable dents in it where it had been sized. We only went down one size, but the work was horrible. The manager was not apologetic at all and instead asked my husband, "Well, what do you want me to do?" After that response from the manager, we decided to just return the ring and take our business elsewhere. Will not be returning. read more

I dropped off engagement ring on July 26 to be sized. August 16 I went into the outlet to get my ring and noticed when my ring was sized that the engraving was buffed out. Disappointed I understand things happen and I was told that it may not look exactly like it did,but they would try and make it very similar. I waited another week and got a call to pick it up and it looked absolutely horrifying. The engraving looked like a scabbed over tattoo and the wording was terrible! I never received an apology just an I told you so from the manager. Not empathizing with me or anything. Just we told you it wouldn't look the same. I was not happy and told the manager she needs to work on her customer service skills. Such a terrible place and terrible employees. They did exchange the ring out for a new one,but the point is the Jeweler they hired ruined the original one and the could careless. There was sentimental value in that one that was destroyed. Walked into an empty store excited to shop around for an engagement ring and none of the four women working greeted me or even acknowledged me until I initiated with some questions. When I finally got someone's attention they seemed completely uninterested and were barely helpful. It was strange because I had shopped there years ago and the quality of service was excellent. Wasn't even looked at or greeted for over 15 minutes. I called ahead of time and asked if I could get my ring cleaned. Clerk on the phone said yes. When I got to the store I was asked 20 questions and treated like a second class citizen because I didn't have "my papers" for the ring. All I want is a cleaning. Not an inspection, not a buff and polish, just a run of the mill cleaning. It's not that hard to understand. I got the "get in here with your paperwork, or else!" speech. I go in before Christmas 2017 buy a 1'/5 caret anniversary ring to go on either side of my wife's wedding ring which is her mothers wedding ring. They only have one - I buy it for about $200 bucks becasue of discounts and sales promotions going on before Christmas. I am told I can be a "Rewards" member and I get $100 off on the next purchase that is over $300.00 which is about the price point for the first one. We go back last night 1-9-2018. They have one BUT low and behold, with discount it comes out to $299.99 (WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF THAT???) just under the needed amount to get the $100 off I was promised by becoming a rewards member. HERE COMES THE SCAM: So we have to buy something in the store to reach $300.00 but there is nothing in the store under $50 bucks so really they have it figured that you have to spend another $50 to get the $100.00 which really only becomes $50 off not he $100.00 you were promised before when you made the original purchase. What they don't know is they they are losing the entire sale. Not only last nights purchase will be returned but also the pre-Christmas purchase. SO for one penny (THAT"S ONE CENT folks) Zales not only lost a $400 dollar sale but more importantly a customer who will go out of his way to warn people NOT TO BUY FROM ZALES. I came here to leave a review for the exemplary service I received and was astounded at the negative reviews. I worked retail myself for 20 years and I know customer complaints are often embellished, only tell half the story and even straight up lies. I wish to address one. The one where they came in for cleaning and no one would wait on them? Really? Commission salespeople ignored you? I doubt it. I noticed the date was 12/20. Could it be everyone was busy and you were just mad because you weren't next in line? That's it. There it is. So what's a person to do? Drop someone that was there BEFORE you for a service that you are going to get for effing FREE? That's the kind of person that was, griping about a free service at the busiest time of the year. And they ask questions because if you get your ring inspected and cleaned every year, it keeps your warranty in good standing. If you had your papers, it would have been easier. It's not that hard lady. Everyone must seem so small from up on that high horse. Now for my experience. Exemplary. I was helped by Chrissie and Amber. Chrissie was so bubbly and happy, I was all " This has to be her first day". Nope, jewlery expert savant. It's odd to see that happiness in retail. Don't let the cold black world of customer service crush you. An asset to the store. Then Amber, I mean, what did she not know? I thought she might have been a jewelry Android she knew so much. Horrible. Every time we call to check for an update on our ring, they keep telling us who helped us purchase the ring...that was 4 weeks ago, then they tell us that they can't look up the info with our phone number..finally after several frustrating seconds talking them into putting in our phone number. They magically pull it up. This has happened the 4 times we have called. Tomorrow I will be going up there with the receipt and either they hand me the jewelry or the credit back the money. My ring was crushed on my finger while I was at work & I wasn't able to get it off, so I just went to the closest jewelry store from my work to see if they would be able to get it off for me. There were 2 ladies in there that were very friendly & were able just to twist it off. What made me so happy is I even told them that I had not bought the ring from the store & they went as far as to re-shape it for me so I could put it right back on. Loved the extra effort that I was so not expecting! Will definitely be looking to buy my next ring here! read more

Had a very awful experience in this store. There was such poor communication and respect for customers from supervisors and employees here. Late January 2014 my husband and myself decided to upgrade our engagement ring for Valentines day. My ring size was a special request but I was assured that going to a size 4 would be reasonable and they would contact with any issues. My promised return time came and went. Approx 4 weeks after purchasing my ring and sending it off to be sized I called in asking where my item was. I was spoken to with very little care and very harsh words, telling me they would call me when it is ready... Another few weeks went by and I called again, I was given the run around so I went into the store. They told me it was sent to the wrong location and they would just call me. About 8 weeks I waited total, I called in again and spoke to a man named Mike I believe who told me this wasnt his issue and he hung up. The next day I went into the store and got a refund. Not one time was I ever told where my ring was or why they would not give it to me. In June I went into a zales store in the mall (Hurts, Texas) and I bought the SAME ring. The managers and employees were amazing to me and got my ring back to me within 21 days. Upon receiving my ring and needing to pay my Zales credit card I found issues. My SSN was blocking from signing up a new account. I found out the employee at the Zales store in Watauga put in the WRONG SSN!!! She never even looked to confirm any information and could have easily ruined someones credit if I were not someone who payed my loans. A tiny side note to that is I only had a very small credit line which was a little irritating seeing I have great credit. I now know why my credit was so little. I have never seen such unprofessional in my life. I will never shop here again! Just go to the store in Hurst and save you from a headache. read more

I basically had the same experience that the other reviewers had. The clerk was rude when greeting us. We came in to have my engagement ring resized. We purchased it online and when we handed it to the clerk we were questioned on its authenticity. He made it very clear that he did not believe it was a real Zales ring saying that he had never seen it in their store or online. Thankfully we had the paperwork in the car. Then he tried to sell us some warranty sizing plan and we very politely told him that we were not interested and that we had gotten it insured. THAT was when he got really snotty with us claiming he had never heard of such a thing, as if he was the all knowing jeweler and we were just dumb customers. He even had the audacity to roll his eyes as my fiance spoke to him. I know he didn't think I noticed. I did. Knowing my fiance's temper was about to flare, I let it go just wanting to leave. We were told that it would take 2 weeks and given a receipt with the date for pickup. That date passed a week ago and still no ring... The clerk did not send it off for a week after we brought it into the store. I spoke to another jeweler and they told me it could have been done in 2 days. Terrible customer service. Terrible experience. Terrible staff. I just hope the jewelry itself is of better quality. So, if you want to be spoken to rudely, treated like trash, questioned and then disappointed, this is the place to go!
