I haven't been to this place in sometime. They have revamped the original menu and beef teriyaki has disappeared off the menu the salad dressing has been changed and the sushi menus been revised. The prices have increased due to obvious economic conditions. But over all food is still good and fresh. The younger wait staff are not on top of things like the staff that has probably retired or moved on.

So thankful Zaoh is in the area! This is one of the better lunch options on a weekday for the location. They've updated and upgraded their interior and their menu... the food options have yet to disappoint and the service has been great for every visit I've come this past 10 months! Their fish has been steadily fresh - they're impeccable on the timing if their food prep and service and they pricing is still within reasonable range of premium lunch for one. I typically come in with 2 to 4 other coworkers and we sometimes order for the table and share the rolls and bento and we all feel happy and stuffed after lunch. If you are looking for a weekday lunch spot - and you are in the area - don't hesitate to come to Zaoh!

Zaoh remains the best sushi in town at unbeatable price range! Service is always great, sushi is fresh and the plate presentations put most fancy restaurants to shame!! I have tried most of their menu, and everything is done with the utmost care and meticulous attention to detail. Which reflects on how delicious everything comes out to be. And the ease of parking around the block is always a huge incentive. No headaches! If you come early, you can even find parking right in front of the restaurant.

pretty good happy hour value. maguro sashimi is basically a chutoro. prompt service, restaurant was half full when we went

We enjoy the nine piece of sheet that comes with a side of rice and Shishido peppers. They serve you complementary miso soup as well which is nice, the miso soup wasn't my favorite as it does have diced vegetables inside but overall the service is good and you could say this place is a hole on the wall.

Our server was so sweet and attentive! I definitely recommend this place for happy hour sushi. There was no wait time and it's also bogo free sake bottle. We got a bunch of rolls and apps, along with handrolls.

Is it rude to call this place a hole in the wall? I stumbled across it accidentally and was intrigued by the happy hour before 8pm so I ran in to make it before time runs out. Small shop, very neighborhood feel, a couple people dining in on a Friday night. Service was great, the restaurant was cozy and cute. Well-priced food given that it's 2024. Spider roll was delicious, fish was fresh. I enjoyed my chicken teriyaki as well - they didn't skimp. Very juicy! Loved the huge amount of green salad I got too. We all got complimentary(?) miso soup as well. I would definitely come back here!

Came here for lunch yesterday and have to say, this little restaurant is cozy, have great food and service. We arrived when they opened at 11am and offered hot tea. Miso soup was bought out shortly. They are the only restaurant I have had miso soup from that included squash as an ingredient in addition to the seaweed and tofu. Loved it! We ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and the salmon teriyaki bento Box (added avocado rolls). For $18 a bento box, there is a good amount of food (we both had left overs). Good flavor, fresh food. I did not care for the side salad though which was shredded thin lettuce almost like dried shredded coconut. I would prefer a non shredded side salad.

Great happy hour deal! I live in the neighborhood so it's super nice to have affordable sushi in the area! Waitresses are friendly!

the cucumbers I had to pick out of the roll :(
    Thien H.

They added cucumber into rolls that didn't have cucumber in the description on DoorDash. The spicy tuna had 19 tiny sticks of cucumber wahh. I can't eat cucumber, I had to pick them all out. There was a roll topped with torched salmon. The fish inside the roll tasted cooked :(

12/14/23. Chicken Teriyaki $13.95+!!! Semi crispy skin. Juicy flavorful chicken, salad dressing & miso soup. Cheap & SUPERB QUALITY!

The first time I came here, I got the strawberry matcha latte with my friends. We ordered it via delivery on DoorDash, and I'm not sure if it's just the whole delivery part, but I could not taste any part of the strawberry! It just tasted like regular cream on top. Typically I'm more of a coffee person than matcha, so I'm not a great judge in whether this was good matcha or not. But I guess it did taste ok in my opinion. The funny thing is, my coworker also said the same thing when she ordered the strawberry matcha latte a separate time! Disappointing. A separate time, we also ordered from them via delivery. This time I was eager to try their food items instead, since they have a pretty interesting selection, like those cake sandwiches and various Japanese items. I got the spam masubi, which I thought would be a solid choice. It did arrive warm, but the slice of spam that was in the masubi was so thin! It was the thinnest piece of spam I had ever gotten, and I've gotten spam masubis at a variety of places including ABC stores and other places in Hawaii, and even various stores in the States. The rice was okay, some brown rice thing with seasoning, that was decent but not my preferred white rice. Overall my two times here have been disappointing. I will really never line up for this place in person, nor will I understand why people do.

Reservations are highly recommended as we observed many walk-ins but there was a 1+ hour wait. Also, must be 21+. It's not an extensive menu - more like small bites. Appreciate the selection of Zero proof drinks. Hubs happy with the NA Suntory. I went with the Dashi Apple which was quite refreshing. Kiddo ordered the Miyabi which was quite floral. We ordered food items to share. Started with the Tebasaki (chicken wings). Kiddo liked these so much she ordered another one. Next, the pork jowl - some pieces were just fat but the meat was seasoned well. Loved the pear and pineapple kimchi - would've liked a bowl of that. The Tori Nanban Sando was another good one. The Shoji Burger is what hubs came for. Fork and knife definitely need to eat this. Pillowy soft bread, melty cheese, and the pickles all made for a tasty burger. Hubs would return for this alone. Ended our meal with the Hojicha Affogato - so good and such an enjoyable way to end our meal. We weren't rushed at any time. Service was good in that they checked on us often. I'd like to visit during the day time to check out their cafe offerings. Also, although not right away, we'd definitely return again for dinner.

The fish were plated beautifully, and the quality was pretty good. + Shungiku Kama Sarada (chrysanthemum greens & duck breast) [6/5 - would recommend]: WOW. I was so pleasantly surprised by how fresh, crunchy, and acidic this salad was. The greens are amazing. On top of that, the duck breast was so tender and delicious-- I just wish the dish came with a few more slices. + Chicken Oyster [4/5]: I really loved how juicy this was. I normally don't like chicken because of how dry it is, but this was a great skewer. I wish the skin was a little less burnt. The chicken was also so thick that while the outside was juicy, the inside was a little drier. + King Trumpet [4/5]: Wow! These looked amazing when they arrived. I thought the flavor was great but the texture was a bit rubbery. + Kama Tama Udon (carbonara) [4.5/5]: Delicious! I couldn't stop eating this udon slathered in amazing thick sauce. + Chiizu Tori Katsu [4/5]: This was sooo good.
